What password are you trying to retrieve? A Mac Mail password? If so it's stored in your Keychain.
Open Keychain and type your email address in the search bar.

I had to do an erase and install on my entire operating system about a month back, and so I now need to re-install my Final Cut Pro (V 4.5).
The lame thing is, in the three years since I got it, I seem to have misplaced both pieces of paper (the CD sleeve and the Installation manual) which would have the serial number on it.
Is there anything that can be done, whether conferring with Apple, or some other step, to retrieve the serial number so that I can re-install from the CD that I have?

If you did an erase and install, the chance your old FCP ID file is still sitting on your disk waiting to be recovered is slim to none.
Call Apple and plead your case. Keep looking for the documentation! You do have the receipt for the purchase?
Still, don't be too surprised if they tell you, "Sure we'll send you one - right after you in $1299 for shipping and handling."

If she has backed up her iPhone she can replace that iPhone and set up the new iPhone from her backup.
You can put the iPhone that went into water into a plastic baggie with either new silica gel packets (preferred) or raw rice and let it sit for 4 - 5 days. After that time remove the phone and connect it to power for at least a half hour. While it is still connected to power reset it by holding down the power and hold button, wait for the Apple logo then let go of the buttons. Might take several tries. If it revives immediately back it up.

The other day i deleted my email accounts off of my ipod and only reloaded a few of them. today i looked at my notes to look at a project i had typed on my notes because i didnt have paper and pen around to write it and i didnt want to froget. I reloaded the rest of my emails in hope that everything would reappear but sadly only some of them from 2010 loaded. To see if there are any backups of your device on the computer, go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Moving the mouse over the listed backups will tell you to which device they belong.
If there is no backup of your phone listed, your data is gone.

The description of icloud backup says that it automatically backs up your camera roll so I'm praying there is a way. Help please =(

Your iCloud backup includes your camera roll photos and videos by default (unless you excluded it from the backup in settings). To recover them, you would need to restore the backup to a replacement iPhone (or iPod touch) as explained here: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud. (You couldn't recover them by restoring the backup to an iPad, however.)
Be aware that Apple will delete iCloud backups after 180 days of inactivity so you'll want to do this before this expires.

I did actually find the imei number and serial number through Itunes Backup, it was in there. You go into Itunes, then Preferences, Device and it is in there.. Thank you for your help.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

I had two backups listed in the information about my icloud account. I thought the newest backup would have everything. Is there any way to retrieve what I deleted? I lost contacts, calendar events, etc.

I, apparently, mistakenly deleted an older backup to iCloud. I thought the newest backup would have everything - the original infor + what had been saved recently. So, I deleted the older backup. Now it seems that contacts and calendar events have been removed from my phone and MacBook. Is there any way to retrieve that?

And actually, no I am not sure that the contacts aren't being restored, but then overwritten by iCloud because it has more recent data. I don't know how to find that out.

(I just thought it will remove it from my computer... but not from my account!) No, I'm afraid not. If you choose to remove personal data when uninstalling Firefox the all Firefox profile folders are removed. Not only from the current Firefox version, but from others as well if you have other Firefox builds installed. This choice should be used with much care.
You can try to recover some data with an undelete utility like Recuva.
