Is there any way to retrieve my pictures from my lost phone if photostream was not on?

I recently lost my iphone and I cannot find it using find my iphone because it says it is offline. I had the "icloud backup" set to on, but I had photostream set to off. Is there any way to retrieve my pictures from my lost phone without photostream being on? The description of icloud backup says that it automatically backs up your camera roll so I'm praying there is a way. Help please =(

Your iCloud backup includes your camera roll photos and videos by default (unless you excluded it from the backup in settings). To recover them, you would need to restore the backup to a replacement iPhone (or iPod touch) as explained here: iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud. (You couldn't recover them by restoring the backup to an iPad, however.)
Be aware that Apple will delete iCloud backups after 180 days of inactivity so you'll want to do this before this expires.

If you use iPhoto, just insert the CD into your optical disc drive, wait for iPhoto to see the disc and open on its own.
iPhoto will load previews of all of your images from the disc.
In the lower right hand corner of iPhoto's application window, click the Import All button and iPhoto will begin downloading the images into iPhoto.

Yes the calendar is gone. I guess it is the notification center I am referring to that comes down when I accidently swipe the top of the screen. Is there a way to stop of notification center from coming down if you swipe the screen? I figured out how to stop the control center from coming up if you swipe the bottom on the screen. No, when you restore from a backup your settings and data revert to those contained in the backup. There isn't a way to selectively save a portion of the backup on your phone while restoring to a newer backup. The only way to accomplish this would be to try to extract the photos you want from your earlier backup using 3rd party software like iPhone Backup Extractor, and then sync the extracted photos back to your phone using iTunes.
Also, if you do try to restore to your earlier backup, you have to do this carefully or you will overwrite it by automatically syncing. The process to follow would be:
First confirm that the earlier backup exists by, without connecting your phone to your computer, opening iTunes and going to Preferences. Here look at the list of available backups. If you see an earlier one to restore from take note of the name and date of this backup.
On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically"
Now connect your phone, right-click on its name when it appears on the left sidebar in iTunes and choose Restore from Backup
Select your earler backup to restore from and let the restore process complete
Go back to iTunes Preferences and re-enable automatic syncing if you prefer this

Next, in iTunes go to the purchased section. On the computer iTunes it can be found under 'Quick Links" on the right hand side of the iTunes Store. On your phone go to iTunes, More and then purchased to find purchases.
Mind that you must be logged into your old account to download these purchases.

Yes. Sign in to the iTunes Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy the music in settings on the phone.
Then tap on "purchased" in the iTunes app on the phone and download the music to your new iPhone.
