Is there any way to speak to a human being at Firefox concerning an unresolved loading issue?

I need to S P E A K to a technical person to resolve an issue that has been preventing updating downloads. Your suggestions have all been faithfully followed and have done N O T H I N G to resolve the problem

Presumably, you're trying to update to v4.0.1. It has proved to be problematical for some people.
If that is indeed the case, please follow these steps.<br><br>
#Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and download the installation file to your desktop.<br><br>
#Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (''don't checkmark the box'').<br><br>
#Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox<br><br>
#Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.<br>
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.<br><br>
After you complete the installation, please go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update where necessary.

  • Is there any way to search for a term using the Firefox search field, and have the results automatically open in a new tab?

Is there any way to search for a term using the Firefox search field, and have the results automatically open in a new tab? When there was support for Google Toolbar, I was able to do this; now, whenever I want to search for something, I have to open a new tab to do it, and cut-and-paste my search into the search field in the new tab. I used to be able to highlight, drag, and drop something into the search field and have it automatically open in a new tab. This is enough for me to switch to Chrome . . .

Set a preference to have searches from the Search Bar (upper right) automatically open all searches in a new tab
#type '''about:config''' in the URL/Location/Address bar and press the Enter key
#if you see a warning, accept it (promise to be careful)
    #Filter = '''browser.search.openintab'''
#in the lower panel, double click the item (or right-click and choose "Toggle") to change the value to "true"
#close the about:config tab and test

    About Google toolbar............
Google decided that they will no longer produce the Google Toolbar for Firefox 5 and newer version. It is best to move on to other alternatives than to try any "hacks" to the toolbar that may or may not perform in the future. Future versions of Google toolbar will only work with IE7-9. Google Toolbar is not available on any other browser, even Google's own browser.

  • Is there any way to not use the plugin container for firefox?

Is there any way to not use the plugin container for firefox? Ever since I updated, my firefox browser has been crashing almost every day and it always says that the plugin container crashed, but the rest of firefox freezes up as well, so I am forced to end the process itself.

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins
You can set the prefs dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.* to false on the about:config page to disable the plugin-container process.
dom.ipc.plugins.enabled (currently false by default in Firefox 3.6.6)
    dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npswf32.dll (Flash)
    dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npctrl.dll (Silverlight)
    dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.npqtplugin.dll (QuickTime)

  • Is there any way to close just the "current tab" in firefox rather than all 3 or 4 that may be open and lose the entire web page?

If I am on a website and open a few different pages, and then decide to go back to an earlier page, or close that particular page, I get a message that says you are about to close 3 tabs or 4 tabs etc. If I only want to close the "current tab" I am on, I was able to do that with Internet Explorer. Is there any way this can be done on Firefox?

For more help, see the '''[[Tabbed browsing]]''' page.

  • Is there any way to prevent excess rows from being added to a table on the front panel?

Whenever I programmatically add rows through a property node I can still go into the front panel and keep adding additional rows through the table. Is there any way to prevent this "excess scrolling"? Maybe grey out the rows or something?
    At least I have chicken

    Hello Labviewleroy,
You should be able to right click on the table on the front panel and select
Visible Items>>Horizontal Scrollbar or Vertical Scrollbar
You could also consider changing their visibility programmatically using a property node for the control or indicator that you are referencing. You can create the property node by right clicking on the control on the block diagram and selecting
    Create>>Property Node>>Visible Items>>Horizontal Scrollbar or Vertical Scrollbar

  • Is there any way to do a manual session restore if Firefox doesn't open your previous session - and doesn't give you that option?

I've got Firefox configured correctly and it always opens my last session. However, sometimes when the computer crashes and a second Firefox window is open (this time it was either a pop-up window or the Firefox update window), Firefox only recognizes that window as the "last session," and it loses the most recent multi-tab session. (Hmm, maybe what I need is "re-open recent sessionS" or "last multi-tab session" ?!)
Anyway ... is there any way I can retrieve yesterday's open tabs without picking through my history and finding them one-by-one?

The presence of a sessionstore file with a number (sessionstore-1.js) indicates that at one time there has been a problem with accessing sessionstore.js and that Firefox wasn't able to rename sessionstore-1.js to sessionstore.js
You can see by the file date of sessionstore-1.js when that has happened and if it an old file then you can remove it or you can try to copy that file to sessionstore.js to see which session it brings back.
Make a backup copy of all sessionstore.* files elsewhere to be sure that you do not lose a session before doing that.

  • Is there any way to speak to someone at BT with te...

After a ridiculous hour and a half long patience-testing chat with a BT customer support representative who contradicted himself and couldn't answer any questions, followed by his manager who "saw what was going on" and "fixed" the issue by (it seems) setting DLM off again on my connection, I tried phoning BT.
That was a rage-inducing phonecall that resulted in a customer service rep saying that he was technical but that no, he didn't know what "routing" was, and asking to escalate to his manager. They were meant to phone back at 3pm, which, of course, they didn't.
I've tried posting on this forum, and got a response, 56 hours ago, and nothing since then despite providing the requested information.
I've tried using twitter and been told that they'll get back to me there, but still haven't heard anything.
Does anyone actually have a port of call that might allow me to talk to someone who I can explain the issue to, who would understand, and then do something about it? This is frustrating beyond belief, and I'm not sure that anyone has actually even started looking into the issue.
I don't have cable available in the area and other ISPs rely on BT/Openreach's hardware (as I understad it) - and I'm pretty sure this is a routing or exchage problem that someone is going to have to actually identify and fix.

from your other recent posts your problem seems very similar to the posts here  https://community.bt.com/t5/Other-Broadband-Queries/PACKETLOSS-BT-ISSUE/td-p/1410015
you may be better adding your voise to that post where the mods are updating whenver the get updates from wholesale
there is no UK CS number you can phone just the standard number

  • Is there any way to change the output audio device for FireFox?

    Hey,
I'm trying to output the audio from my FireFox browser to my external bluetooth speakers, and I can't figure out how to for the life of me. I'm using google play music (just made the switch from Chrome), and for some reason I can only get FireFox audio out of the system speakers. There seems to be no settings to change this in Windows or FireFox, can someone suggest a plug-in or workaround? Really don't want to go back to Chrome over some stupid issue like this.
    Thanks,
    Joe

I am pretty sure that the plug ins are responsible for this, My Compuer > Control Panel > Sounds and Multimedia Properties > Audio > Sound Playback, though the menu may be different in 8.1,
    Please see these as well:

  • Is there any way I can download an older version of firefox?

Hi, I am working with a wysiwyg is having trouble with the newest version of Firefox. Is there anyway I can download old versions? Specifically Firefox 7? Thanks!

    Hey maiabee,
There are a lot of benefits to running the latest version of Firefox. You should consider [http://input.mozilla.com/en-US/feedback leaving feedback] for the developers so that they can continue to improve the product.
If you still want to roll back to a previous version of Firefox, just take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]].
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Is there any way to revert to the previous version of Firefox.

when i try to open my webmail, using the appropriate password i get the following message: https://webmail.primus.ca/parse.php?file=html/english/xp/xp.html&frame=1
I'd hardly find it necessary to contact the web provider, except for that, so i'd be content to go back a step to be able to NOT have to use Internet Explorer just to check email when i'm on the road

This is a Thunderbird forum. Are you actually asking about Thunderbird or really about Firefox?
In both cases, the answer is pretty much the same; go to the site (below), drill down to the version you want, on the platform you use (windows/mac/linux), in the language you use, and download it, then run it.
There is no need to uninstall the previous version.
    Thunderbird email: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/
    Firefox browser: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/
I think most "usability" issues with Thunderbird would be addressed by using TB v24.6. I'm not so sure what would have changed in Firefox to annoy you. ;-)

  • Is there any way to use zen touch without being an admin on the comput

I looked for weeks and weeks with no solution. All I want is the simple
interaction between my 20GB zen touch and a pc with which I have
no admin priviliges. If I managed to get the files (nomad explorer/driver)
somewhere else would simply copying them over be enough to get it to work.
Or is it hopeless and you HAVE to be an admin? :smileysurprised:
Please helpMessage Edited by myname on 05-24-2005 03:8 PM

It works fine on my laptop but you know the way it is at work.
I thought I'd be able to download files and bring them home
to my laptop on the zen touch. ?260, 20GB and I can't even use
it to transfer files. Feck that :smileyvery-happy:

  • Is there any way to restore deleted bookmarks after uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it?

When I uninstalled firefox i checked the delete history/bookmarks box by accident and now all my bookmarks are gone. is there any way of restoring them from before i uninstalled firefox?

Did you remove the JSON backups in the bookmarkbackups folder as well?
It is better to try to recover a JSON backup because that is a text file and can easily be checked if the recovery succeeded.

Is there any way on an iPad Air to see your dictation as you speak

You can use the built in Siri voice functions in many text apps, (Notability is good) to have it type as you speak, also Dragon Dictation is available in app store and uses its own method rather than Siri.

You can also make a report to Apple I believe.
The last time someone reported about that, they said that the police communicated with Apple, not the victim. Whether that was, or is still true, I do not know. The police may be able to tell you when you file the report, but if not, it won't hurt to contact Apple and ask. Good luck to you Karina.
