Is there any way to upgrade the processor speed and/or graphics card?

i would like to upgrade the processor and/or graphics card to make gameplay faster, having problems with speed when having game open and web browser at the same time on two screens.

is there a way to upgrade the ram on the mac mini (with disk drive) so 2009 ish, that would greatly help me?  Aside from the obvious "buy a new one".

  • Any way to upgrade the processor?

I have a 15" aluminum PowerBook G4 with the 1.67GHz processor, and it's starting to show its age. Programs are running more slowly, and I can't do a lot with video editing/playing (which I would like to be able to do). It's been a great laptop and I really want to get as much use out of it as possible (especially considering the prices of the new MacBooks). I've maxed out the ram and am replacing the hard drive, but would really be interested in upgrading the processor...if that was possible (and worth the money).
I read that Daystar Technology used to offer processor upgrades for the PowerBook G4s, and they seemed to get pretty good reviews. However, it looks like those upgrades were discontinued awhile ago. Would a processor upgrade even be worth the money? If so...is there any way to procure an upgrade?
    Thank you!

Sarah, I question why your PB is running more slowly. Granted, I don't run Leopard on my 1.33 GHz PB but movie editing is sufficiently swift with Tiger, as is everything else. If your HD is getting low on breathing room that might explain your slowness.
I'm with Brody. Newer hard disk drives are faster and far less expensive than they were when your PB was built, so get the biggest one your wallet can handle. I would definitely avoid attempting to upgrade the CPU. Other system limitations would make your return on that investment unattractive.
Upgrades are worthwhile only to a point. More RAM and HD space are always better, but I consider Tiger to be the optimal OS for my G4 Powerbooks even though they meet the requirements for 10.5. Even my 500 MHz G3 iMac runs Tiger acceptably fast. Ultimately, it's the desire to run more capable applications (like iLife 09) that renders older systems functionally obsolete. If you find that Leopard runs too slowly on your PB, might you consider moving back to Tiger?

  • Is there any way to accept the apple terms and conditions using the website or any other ways that are not flawed to being unusable?

I have tried using the set in system of trying to update an app and being prompted to agree, but every single time  Apple's gay system keeps telling me that my session has timed out and I should try again. I have tried multiple times to have it sent by email, but every one of those show up as "there was an error and email failed. Please try again.". I signed in on the website and was prompted to agree to the terms and I did, but Apple still will not let me dowload/update apps. Is there any way to get to a part of a website that lets you agree to the terms? If not, is there any fool-proof way that I can do it or a solution to the session timing out issue?

    Try resetting your device.
If that fails, Reboot, Reset, Restore.

  • Are there any ways to upgrade the graphics card on a sony vaio laptop?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Pretty much if you have to ask, the answer is no.
For those laptops that allow it (and "Sony Vaio" isn't specific enough to determine this, an exact model number and current configuration would be needed.), it's usually a difficult and expensive procedure that WILL void your warranty (unlike desktop video card upgrades).
If it has Intel GMA graphics, 100% are non-upgradeable.
If it has discrete graphics (ATI or NVidia), there's a slight chance but it's getting more and more rare.  In general, if multiple video card options were offered at purchase time for a system, it is possible to upgrade from the lower options to higher ones at a later date for significant expense.  The exception being systems that offered Intel GMA or other options - the GMA-based systems usually use a different motherboard than the other options (This was the case with the Dell E1705 series.)

    Joleney-
I do not know of any way to turn off the Sleep button.  If yours does not work, there might be an internal problem like a loose connection in the iPad.
One thing you can try is to hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow if it appears.  If successful, the iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.
If the Apple logo never appears, it is likely your Sleep button is bad.  If the iPad is still in warranty, show it to an Apple Store Genius.  You may get a replacement iPad if the Genius can not fix it.
If the iPad is out of warranty or there is no Apple Store near you, look for an Apple Authorized Repair Center near you.  There may be one in your city.  If out of warranty, the cost of a repair would most likely be less than Apple's replacement price.  <Apple Authorized Repair Centers>

recently "lost" a purchased song, (Plus the accompanying artwork) from my i-tunes library, after upgrading my O.S. from windows XP to windows 7.
Is there any way to get the original song back, or, at least, re-purchase it?... I tried to do the latter, (It's still available in the itunes store) but, when I clicked on the buy link, I was informed that I had already bought it and was only given the option to, either, copy the link or send it to Facebook/Twitter
I also, inadvertently, deleted a couple of default playlists (Notably recently added) while attempting to get the song back.
Can someone out there, please, help me out. with the solution(s). (preferably step by step if possible, as I'm a bit of a Homer Simpson when it comes to this sort of thing) .. Doh!! :-(

    Hello, MrKite549.
Here is an article that will walk you through download any past purchases that are missing from your iTunes library.

no official way but if you open the Apple TV and put the hd in the external case it should mount and give you access to the data on it

Just want to avoild spending hours migrating everything across....

Yes, I can read but just can't write DVD's. I get:
This disc can’t be verified and might be unreliable. Try again using a new blank disc (error code 0x80020063).
Originally I thought it was the old Moutain Lion DVD drive issue (but have had the drive recently replaced by Apple), so I tried creating a new account, which worked.
In the old account I have reset SMU, Pram... but no change.

I upgraded to Yosemite from Snow Leopard and lost my address book. Is there any way to retrieve the information?

    Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
Transfer other music by using a third-party programlike one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
You can also rredownload mos iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

    Not that I am aware.

  • I have a 2007 13" Macbook White. Is there any way to upgrade my OS from 10.6.8 to anything above 10.7?

I have a 2007 13" Macbook White. Is there any way to upgrade my OS from 10.6.8 to anything above 10.7? I keep getting an error message when I try to download 10.8.3 because Apple didn't make it compatible with my machine, but I really only need 10.7. So is there ANY possible way to do this with my current Macbook? Thanks for the help guys.

I have a 2007 13" Macbook White. Is there any way to upgrade my OS from 10.6.8 to anything above 10.7
According to these system requirements, no, there is no way to go higher than Lion (10.7), as Mountain Lion (10.8) will not be compatible.
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
Also note that both Lion and Mountain Lion are memory hogs and the realistic minimum RAM should be 4 GB; you can run it with 2 GB, but depending on how you use your machine, you may not be happy with its performance.

Unless the machine was originally offered with an upgradeable option, no, the parts would have to be replaced with the same spec parts. You do realize that a logic board replacement can be as much as $600 or more?

    Hi ,
There is nothing  in  yum.repos.d directory  and  below are  entries in /etc/yum.conf file . can you  please  cnfirm wherther yum is configured or not
    yum.repos.d]# ls -ltrh

    #  This is the default, if you make this bigger yum won't see if the metadata
    # is newer on the remote and so you'll "gain" the bandwidth of not having to
    # download the new metadata and "pay" for it by yum not having correct
    # information.
    #  It is esp. important, to have correct metadata, for distributions like
    # Fedora which don't keep old packages around. If you don't like this checking
    # interupting your command line usage, it's much better to have something
    # manually check the metadata once an hour (yum-updatesd will do this).

If you're using a PowerPC Mac, no.
If you're using an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.
