Is there any way to upgrade to a newer version of os x snow leopard if my computer isn't compatible with mavericks?
Is there any way to upgrade my software version? I've tried downloading java or upgrading it and it won't let me because my software isn't compatible. I was ready to install Mavericks when all of the sudden my computer isn't compatible with OS X Mavericks. Does anybody have any solutions besides buy a new computer?
If your computer isn’t compatible, you might be able to upgrade to Lion.

You can also check which applications are PowerPC by going to the menu, select About this Mac, click on More info…, then click System Report and select Software/Applications.
If you have applications that you want to use that aren’t compatible, you can retain Snow Leopard and create a new partition to install Lion on or you can run Snow Leopard server in a virtual mode.

I have an Intel iMac Model 8,1 Running Snow Leopard (10.6.8), and a 4th Gen iPad. Is there any way that I can import my Mac Addressbook from my iMac to the iPad so that I don't have to manually enter over 1,100 names and email addresses?
My installed iTunes (v11.0.3) function for synchronizing the two units tells me that Contacts are sync'ed only via iCLoud, which, or course is only available with OS 7.0 and above. I cannot uppgrade my iMac above Snow Leopard without losing application compatibility on both a major contact database program, and an engineering drawing software program, with thousands of manhours and dollars worth of valuable files, that have been generated over many years past, neither software applications of which are supported by OS 10.7 and above.
I cannot believe that Apple would be so blindsighted to this type of issue and there must be some work-around.Worked like a charm and resolved my problem totally. The only issue I had is that, unlike the Computer (Mac OS). the iPad doesn't give constant visibility to what it is doing (feedback), so I wasn't initially sure it had done anything.
When I opened my emailed message with .vcf file attached, and tapped the .vcf attachment icon, I saw activity on the icon for just a few seconds, then it reverted to the original with nothing apparently happening. After about 30 seconds, the secondary menut popped up indicating the transfer of 1200 addresses would be completed, if I approved the action. Another 10 to 15 seconds then transpired before the completed Contact list appeared on the ipad. So you must be patient, if you have a large Addressbook. That's reasonable,but unexpected lack of feedback left me wondering, like so many other things on the iPad.
THank you for the assist. Apparently Apples Mac Genius people did not know this procedure, and I will pass it on to my local Apple Store Instructor.

Is there any way to revert to an older version of iTunes?
GoodReader (an iOS app) has a 32 bit windows program (GoodReader USB) that allows easy drag and drop transferring of folders and files between my windows computer and my iPad.
Upgrading to the newest 64 bit version of iTunes disabled the GoodReader USB transfer program. The program doesn't think iTunes is installed (because it only works with the 32 bit version). GoodReader hasn't upgraded the transfer program yet and I've been told they might not. I use this program several times per week and it's a hardship to lose its functionality.
I uninstalled iTunes, downloaded a 32 bit version of iTunes and tried to install it. Unfortunately, the install doesn't work. The install program essentially insisted that I needed the 64 bit version. I've reinstalled the 64 bit iTunes 12 for the time being. Is there any way to revert to the last version of iTunes that was running on my computer. Alternately, is there another iOS app (similar to GoodReader) with as good a USB transfer program that lefts me drag and drop folders and files onto my iPad?Try iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
You may need to fully uninstall all Apple components before switching. If you run into problems see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip. Also links to the previous build if required.

I have a 2007 13" Macbook White. Is there any way to upgrade my OS from 10.6.8 to anything above 10.7? I keep getting an error message when I try to download 10.8.3 because Apple didn't make it compatible with my machine, but I really only need 10.7. According to these system requirements, no, there is no way to go higher than Lion (10.7), as Mountain Lion (10.8) will not be compatible.

Also note that both Lion and Mountain Lion are memory hogs and the realistic minimum RAM should be 4 GB; you can run it with 2 GB, but depending on how you use your machine, you may not be happy with its performance. -

Syncing the iPhone 5C requires at least Mac OS X 10.6.8. Mac OS X 10.6 DVDs are available at the online Apple Store; they require a Mac with an Intel CPU and at least 1GB of RAM.

I just got my daughter a new macbook pro. She currently shares my wifes apple id for iTunes on her iTouch. I need to set up an email account for her. Is there any way to set up a new iCloud email account but still use my wifes apple id for iTunes?
No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that. -
