Is there anybody really using Loopback ??

Hi,
I'm using latest version of MainStage ( 2.1.1 ) in 32-bit mode and I cannot figure out how to use the overdubbing feature in Loopback plugin. First record is always fine, but overdubbing is normally failing: maybe no record or just starting late or at wrong time.
Also problems undoing last record or even clearing the tape I have found sounds not deleted.
Is there anybody using Loopback at all ??

I'd also like to hear who is successfully using Loopback during live performance. I had it hooked up to some footswitches and was learning my way around it, but was finding it too temperamental to risk using for using looping in my live solo performances. As you know, timing has to be accurate, and operation flawless.
I have resorted back to using my Boomerang III hardware looper, which I am very comfortable with. I use Mainstage for all my other guitar effects (as well as vocal, sax, and WX5). I also use Mainstage to route what goes into the Boomerang, and to control loop volume in the mix. This combination has been stable and predictable for me so far, which is crucial for live solo performance.

There is no replacement program that will directly read Appleworks database files.
You have two options:
1. Continue to use Appleworks 6.2.9, which requires Rosetta installed in Snow Leopard, or the access to Rosetta by installing Snow Leopard Server in virtualization for use in Lion, Mt. Lion or Mavericks:

Your comment "a zip" made me attempt to open it with winrar, and I found a manifest.fm file inside!
So far I was editing the one at the "source" of my project and rebuilding it with netbeans.

When not to use loopback?

Hi guys,
It seems very simple question, but it made me go thinking and thinking and decided it would be worthwhile to share it here with you.
I am building a small network with one core switch doing all inter vlan routing and connecting to two edge routers (these routers are used for different purpose).
I am planning to use a management vlan having all the switches as part of it. And I was thinking of using loopback interfaces on the routers and use static routing so the core knows where they are located.
My question (which may seem stupid here ) was to ask whether having loopback here would be really worthwhile? or if there is a better way in regards to management of the network devices?

having a loop back really only makes sense if you have more than 1 path into the router. If you have a single network connection into the switch and that connection goes down, having a loop back wouldn't help much.

ok that is understandable and fully reasonable. but tech is tech. when one is made to do everything it can also be limited through the code.
Would anyone be able to make or program something to override the code and just use it to send/receive through the hardware. like said the bluetooth tether feature was not doable but mywi was able to through jailbreaking.
what i am asking is, would be it possible?

Nokia Photos - Is anybody still using it?

More and more people think Ovi Suite has lost its focus - to become the main software to manage a Nokia phone. I do not know what went wrong with it - perhaps the need to create a software that is simple to configure/use, comparing to Nokia PC Suite, but it's clear to me, this is not what Ovi Suite is...
Although, I admit that using Nokia software was not always so frustrating: I do remember how I felt when I first used Nokia Lifeblog - later it became Nokia Photos. I had paid in order to use it when it came out - still, I have no remorse for it - because the idea of managing your phone content over a timeline was amazing! When Nokia Lifeblog was replaced with Nokia Photos, for a moment I thought that's it; I would not be able to manage my phone's content anymore. Nevertheless, the misleading name, had nothing to do with what the software was offering...
Today, a friend suggested to see KIN.com - I was amazed with KIN Studio - a Nokia Lifeblog/Nokia Photo replica in Silverlight, that is offered for Windows Mobile powered phones. It looks like that Microsoft found the "phone content over timeline" idea more interesting, and they are investing on it - Nokia that originally come up with the idea is done with it, as Nokia Photos is an "archived" application!
Is anybody still using Nokia Photos? Does anyone think that the "phone content over timeline" idea should be something Nokia should be invest on, and this would be the idea to use for a software like Ovi Suite?

I like the concept but, like everything else Nokia does, its just poor execution. They started Lifeblog, ok cool. Then came Photos; ok same concept. Now they've completely ditched Photos and gone to Ovi suite. They dont get the fact that people want to archive there data, not just switch to the latest gimmick. At least offer an effective way to smoothly transfer data. Argh!! so frustrating!
I have my earlier data on Lifeblog and my latest data on Photos (thank god I didn't merge the two). Photos wont open anymore And Nokia is pathetically useless in the matter. There market share worldwide will diminish pretty soon, thanks to Google and Apple

Yes we do. A lot .
Everytime that you see that you are having a lot of work to do something is because you are not changing a KM. The best thing in ODI is the hability to change it as you wish. Let me give you a few scenarios:
You are building a big DW and you want the KM to identify new periods in the load time and add new partitions on the target table.
You have sources around the world with the same table structure and you want to build only one interface and loop it in all this sources in parallel
You are integrating Hyperion Planning application and you don't want to create one interface per dimension, you want it more generic. Same for data and metadata.
Well there's a lot more scenarios that I can thing, but the ideia behind chante a KM is to make things easer for you, then everytime you are developing and you see that you have to do extra steps do do somthing you can consider change a KM.

Ever since the last update I can't seem to open up the list of ''Recently Closed Windows'', is there anybody that can help me with that?

Yesterday my Firefox browser was updated without me even noticing it. I closed the only 2 windows that were open, both having a bunch of tabs, because I turned off my PC. Today I opened up Firefox, clicked ''Restore previous session'' which opened up one of these 2 windows. But when I wanted to access the list of ''Recently Closed Windows'' it didn't open. It only shows a small square as if it's there, but it doesn't show anything. I can open up ''Recently Closed Tabs'' but that doesn't help me. I now only have 1 window, but the other one had some important tabs opened in it as well, so I could really use some help.

Firefox stores your open windows and tabs in a file named sessionstore.js in your currently active settings folder. Could you check that folder and back up all of the sessionstore files as the first step.
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using
Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button
If you find a file named sessionstore but not sessionstore.js, Windows may be hiding file extensions from you. To work with files as accurately as possible, I suggest unhiding them. This Microsoft support article has the steps: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219].

I also have 1.8+ GB charged to my allowance that I don't understand at all how it is mine because the highest I've ever logged at any given time has been barely 0.5 GB. I'm cruising along at .04-.07 GB and all of a sudden appears a 1.8+ GB deduction/usage and it makes me wonder what the ???? is going on. Is Verizon posting fraudulent usage amounts just to drive up my usage so I have to buy more Gigs?

The time is not the time of actual use, but the time a tower reports the use. The data would have been used anytime prior to that time. Usually, but no always, the usage happened between the time prior and the time reported.
For example:
9:00 AM   1.23 MB
7:05 AM   0.01 MB
1:15 AM 350.03 MB
8:00 PM   23.89 MB
This does not indicate 350 MB was used at 1:15 AM. It really tell you 350 MB was used sometime between 8:00 PM and 1:15 AM.
The times are local time zone as far as I can tell.

Not really using my iPad. What can it do that my iTouch can't do?

I wanted an ipad desperately as soon as the first one was intruduced. I finally got an iPad 2 in December. I'm an Apple fanatic. Surprisingly, I have hardly used it. I use my 4 year old iTouch throughout every day as a PDA, alarm clock, to check emails, keep contacts, track my instrument practices, play games with relatives out of state. But I find that most of my info doesn't go back and firth from my iTouch to my ipad. The iPad is bigger and doesn't fit in my pocket or purse, so it gets forgotten for weeks at a time. (I use my Kindle for bedtime reading because it doesn't have backlighting.) My iPad2 cost over $700 and it is sitting there. Any suggestions on how I can put it to work?
The biggest help would be how to use both and have all the info be shared. For example, I use an app to geep track of guitar practices on my iTouch, I have the same app on my ipad, but the data doesn't carry over. I signed up for iCloud, but it is not helping.
I use WiFi but not the 3G because I don't pay for the extra data plan.

iCloud wouldn't be compatible with your iPod as it requires IOS 5. I was in the exact opposite situation. As soon as I got my iPad I sold my iTouch.
I find it much more useful for email, gaming, reading, productivity (documents, budgeting, music/video creation, photos..), mirroring is really useful for presentations and also showing things to others in the house etc.
I'm guessing you don't have an iPhone, that took the place of my iPod. When i'm out of wifi range I use tethering as I didn't feel the need for an extra 3G plan either.
More info on your needs or what you hope to accomplish would help.
