Is there anything aside from bad or poorly installed RAM that can cause the three beeps of death?

So, I've been dealing with a problem with my 2013 non-retina MBP. I've already had it into Apple to be looked at, and they replaced the hard drive and RAM. Unfortunately, it is now out of warranty, and the issues have returned. They are two-fold, and hope they are related. One: my computer will freeze up periodically. Sometimes, it will shut down; others, it will make the screen go all wonky, like an old Atari video game. This usually happens when I have been streaming video. It is also sometimes accompanied by the 3 beeps. The second issue is when my computer just shuts down periodically, and I get 3 beeps
So far, I have done all usual matenaince I can think of. I've repaired permissions, uninstalled and reinstalled my RAM (official Apple RAM), run a RAM test, and cleared PRAM, run diagnostics, etc. Usually, my computer runs fine for awhile, perhaps a week, and then I get the same problems all over again. Is there anything I'm not doing, but could be? Anything else to check or try? Is there anything aside from the RAM that might cause this? I know a faulty video card or logic board would cause the screen freezing, but would they also cause the 3 beeps of death? Thanks for any help you can give me.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Just use your backup to put everything back. This is one of the many reason that backup are very basic.

On the "Select Features" screen of the setup I get an error message when I try to click next:
"There are no SQL Server Instances or shared features that can be updated on this computer."
I've checked and re-checked the release notes - pretty sure I have the right versions of everything:

Your SQL Server 2012 is already at SP2 see version number 11.0.5058 this corresponds to SP2. So when you run the setup it says there is nothing to upgrade

There were some recent ui changes around the downloads manager. What version where you on before? Anyway, you can customize things in Firefox really easily. Take a look at [[Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars|this article on customizing Firefox]] for details. Should be a piece of cake to move the bookmarks button.
As for the color of the button, you might be in [[Private Browsing - Browse the web without saving information about the sites you visit|Private Browsing]] mode. That changes the color of the button from orange to a purplish color.

Is there a reason you are not storing your Pages documents in iCloud? That would work for both your MacBook and iPad if you choose to use it (assuming your MacBook is new enough to support an OS X version that supports iCloud).
If you choose this method, any updates you make on one device would immediately be made available on the other (once you close the file).

I have 4 latest Macs All have iDVD. The question was not where to get iDVD.

I appreciate your input but it realy does not answer the question. iDVD will soon not be able to work with newer versions of Macs as it has been left behind by Apple!

Ok, this is somewhat of a better work around I've found:
Starting in the Australian iTunes store, I go through the process of signing into the UK iTunes store up until the point it asks for my credit card information.
I then click the 'X' in the top left of iTunes to exit the store.
Now when I click on my Apps Updates button it shows me what UK Apps I have that are available to update.
You can't download these as at this point I've changed the store I'm viewing, but haven't officially switched accounts. Not to worry.
I write down the names of the UK Apps to update.
Then, use the 'search store' field in the top right of iTunes to search for one of the Apps.
Once you've found it, click to buy it / download it.
iTunes recognises that the App is already in your account and downloads it again for free….
… now I'm HOPING that that App is now fully within my Australian account… unfortunately only time will tell once there is a new update for it.
I'll let you know.

Do not use MS Word for Mac, it does not support Arabic. Instead use Mellel, TextEdit, Nisus Writer or OpenOffice. Try the font Geeza Pro if others do not work.

If you still have the .doc files, it might be best to send those to your recipients so they can be edited. Otherwise, you can use ExportPDF to convert the PDF files back to .doc format. But, again, that step would be unnecessary if you have the .doc files.

hello ptbruce, you probably only selected to open (not save) the video which will download it into windows temporary folder where it gets deleted again after it has been used. <br>you could try to right-click the entry in the firefox download manager and copy the link of the source file and try if you can download it through this url again. otherwise you'll have to contact the vendor of the video to find a solution...

I want to be able to use 2 different scanner machines (A4 and A3). I have installed the 2 drivers. When I switch usb cables to use the other scanner in I get the message saying there is no scanner installed. I can see the 2 machines in the printer list.
