Is there anything like Disk Doctor and Speed Disk for Leopard?

Is there any way to do ordinary "maintenance" on a computer using Leopard? Is there any need to do anything? I've had this computer for 8 months now, and I feel kind of guilty not doing anything like running disk doctor for so long!

So Disk Utilities is all I really need to use?
Yes, unless it runs into a disk structure problem it can't fix, in which case DiskWarrior or Techtool Pro may be needed. If you encounter a disk permissions problem which it can't fix, post back or look at the Knowledge Base for help.

Is there anything like AlienSkin for Fireworks CS6? I realize there is Fireworks Exchange, but I've found it to be a bit disappointing. In older versions of FW I used a couple AlienSkin products for lightning, fire, chrome, etc effects. Don't care if I have to pay for it or not. I called Adobe support line and they were less than helpful, and after asking a couple questions the lady couldn't answer the call was magically dropped. I'm probably just being dumb and missing something obvious here, but any guidance or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Generally, it's ok to install on two machines as long as they are both yours and you only use one version at a time.

Some I venture are against CCCleaner.... because they don't think cleaning temp and cache files are....? or that it "came from Windows world" or maybe the authors don't understand Mac??
I of course had to try CCCleaner - Windows (great product) and Mac (seems safe).
Any utility can be abused. Onyx and Lion Cache Cleaner have long strong support history. And yet if used or over used - and using to 'fix' a problem rather than as mild general house-cleaning and keeping... (If you disk drive has problems, maybe you need to run fsck -fy or Repair Disk Directory or SMART Utility to find if there are bad blocks).

I get the feeling whether users or type of computer and work, that "my computer feels slow" comes up in Mac OS X forums from notebook owners more often, too often even.
Fragmented free space, low free space, really low, not enough memory, installing too much stuff, or web browsers that leave too much on the disk drive (and don't use quotas or size limits or how many days of cache, history etc).
My experieince: BACKUP and CLONE your system. Try on the clone. Or on main hard drive (but first make sure you've got a bootable backup clone) and test and try out and experiment. Then make up your own mind on your own experience. I would even go a step further: a "test system" computer that you can play with. Try out new OS or whatever on it. A Mini or something is great for that or older and 2nd hand too.
Generally the feedback under products on www.macupdate.com and/or MacIntouch reader feedback have been helpful. Pre-Cnet so was MacFixit but I spend less time there now (they had great support forums at one time 8-13 yrs ago). Especially for Mac OS stuff.

Hi all, basically my broadband is much slower than I expected it to be. On BT's site they can give you an estimate - my postcode gives about 17 mb/s (+/- 2 mb) yet after a few days of having the new phone line & broadband installed my speeds dropped from over 10 mb/s (can't remember exactly but it was good) to just over 2 mb/s. I've noticed a lot of people have had similar problems. I've tried all the usual stuff - wired connection test, using test socket, new filter, changing router location - no significant differences. I was just wondering if anyone who knows a bit more than I do might be able to point me in the right direction as to what I could do (if anything!) to improve my speed.

can you go back to adsl stats page and 'show detail' and post rest of errors. with your attenuation of 35 it suggests you line length from the exchange is 2.5km
can you conenct to test socket and repost your stats please. once conencted to tes socket you need to leaveit conencted 24/7 as allyour resets as you try different things are certainly not helping your conenction

I read this on Page 56 of the Pages'09 User Guide, and tried it. I could paste into the endnote. What is it that you can't do?
Adding an Endnote at the End of a Document
In a word processing document, you can add special marks in a document that link to notes at the end of the document. These notes are called document endnotes.
To add a document endnote:
Click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Document button, and then click Document.
Choose Use Document Endnotes from the Footnotes & Endnotes pop-up menu.
Choose a numbering format from the Format pop-up menu.
Choose whether endnotes are continuous or restart on each page or section from the Numbering pop-up menu.
Place the insertion point in the main text flow (not in a text box, table, or other object) where you want the endnote mark to appear.
Choose Insert > Endnote.
An endnote mark appears, and the insertion point moves to the corresponding endnote field at the end of the document following a section break. If you don’t want the endnotes on a new page, delete the section break.
Type the endnote information.

In short yes.
I've had keybindings to do that in sawfish, enlightenment, pek, openbox.....
Any wm that has both keybindings, and move windows can be setup for it.
and if the wm doesn't have the keybindings, there are other apps to do it.
I find it funny that the posting date for this was today, and then "PowerResizer" for windows 7. Woohoo! "envious of it's window docking and resizing capabilities" ROFLMAO!
It's been in linux for 10+ years, and it's "new" to windows! LOL
