There are quite a numner of dedicated iPod, as well as, general converters available that can output iPod compatible files. It would help however, if you could provide information reguarding what types of files you want to convert, whether or not you are willing to purchase a "proven" application or simply want a "freebie," and give some idea as to your level of expertise or comfort in manually entering customization settings.

Is there anything in SWTOOLS that I actually need to keep?

The SWTOOLS is taking up 3-4 Gigs -- and since I'm using a SSD (with relatively limited space) I'd like those 3-4 Gigs back.
Is there anything I actually need in there? If I copy the SWTOOLS folder to a network share, and then delete it from my X220, is there anything wrong with that? Do I even need to copy it to a network share? Offhand, it seems like a bunch of stuff I could download later if I ever actually want it.

On some models of ThinkPad (older ones?), the C:\SWTOOLS directory may contain the standalone installation packages for licensed software that are not available for download, such as DVD viewing or burning software. In addition to make a normal backup of it whereever your store your backups, I would suggest copying the contents of the directory to a 4GB USB flash drive and keeping it someplace near the ThinkPad, such as a carrying case or backpack if you use one. That way, if you ever need to reinstall the operating system while away from your backups, you will have all of the additional ThinkPad-specific software available for reinstallation with you from the USB flash drive.

Is there anything backing up my system other than Time Machine?

I have a Mac Pro & recently had to reinstall the OS. I didn't setup Time Machine because I didn't have another external drive to back things up to. I made some changes to my system that resulted in it not being able to boot up. Is there anything in SL that will allow me to restore my system to earlier today?

I did a bunch dumb stuff. Stuff that I won't be doing again. I was able to get back to where I started. I basically did what was stated above. I just installed SL over the top of stuff & miracualously, my apps were saved. MAN, you gotta love this OS.
I really apprecaite everyone's help with this. I always get help on this forum & usually nobody tells me how dumb I am. Thank you for not pointing that out. I know that was dumb. I didn't need to be reminded. You guys are great!

Is there anything Artistic/creative that you can use a BitMap font for

I was cleaning out my duplicate fonts and have some that have a bitmap versions. I was reading that postscript and true type are better to use. But---Before I empty the trash I was wondering is there anything artistic (maybe grungy or something) that a bitmap font could be used for that a true type or post script font would not do, even if its not used for legible text.

If you like a font, keep it. I suggest tat you use a font manager. I've got about 21,000 fonts in my library but I only keep about 300 activated. I use a font Font Explorer, but there are many good font managers out there.

In Music, sometimes an album that has more than one artist, only one shows up, how do I get them all that are all on the album to play in sequence when I select that album?

I can't figure out why, on my ipod touch in Music, when I select some albums that have more than one artist, the whole album doesn't come up to play all together. This happens in some compilations, and only ne song shows up from each artist on the album. Or like on an artist's album that has someone else singing with her. I get that they are on the same line as an artist, but the album is an album, and when you play an album, the whole thing should play - right? Thanks for your help!

Generally all you need do is give tracks from the same album a common Album Artist. See Grouping tracks into albums. The images need an update but the basic info. still holds.

Is there anything within firefox that would prevent exporting a wordpress xml file?

everytime i try to export my wordpress blog contents (posts and comments or just post), the file that gets prepared for downloading is either 0 bytes or -1 bytes.
is there any type of setting within firefox, that could be causing the problem when exporting a wordpress blog?
is there someplace where i can enter (trusted sites),the domains or url's for each of my blogs in firefox and see if that makes any difference

Sure. When I open an .xml file with one doc, the tree is displayed, as expected. But, file contents with a document per line gives a syntax error on line 2:

In my log file, I have a document per line generated by rsyslog. When I open the file via FTP, it is still active, so an approach that encapsulates all the lines into a single monolithic 'log' element doesn't seem workable. The </log> line would never be there.

Extensions for Firefox, such as the Google Toolbar, include a list of compatible Firefox versions. Last time I checked, the Google Toolbar only goes up to Firefox 4. However, people have tested and it mostly works on Firefox 5, so there are two workarounds:
(1) Edit a file to revise the range of compatible versions
(2) Install an add-on that lets you ignore the range of compatible versions

Is there anything in particlar that I need other than the installation disk when upgrading from Labview 8 to 2010

I have a Labview program that ran fine when I had Labview 8 installed. I recently upgraded to Labview 2010 and now my program will not work. When I run the program, none of my instruments read out and after about 5 seconds, the whole Labview program closes with no error messages. Can someone please help? I am a new Labview user and I don't really know how to troubleshoot this problem.

If you have the installation disks that should be all you need. You will need a connection to the internet to register your product.

Apple is still signing for 6.0.1 so you can RESTORE BACK to 6.0.1. Just download the 6.0.1 IPSW for your device and then press the shift key while pressing restore (on windows) which will open a window. Select the downloaded IPSW and you'll be back on 6.0.1. And since Apple is still signing 6.0.1 THIS IS NOT A HACK
OR AN UNAUTHORIZED downgrade. So it DOES NOT void your warranty because Apple is allowing you to downgrade because they've allowed the 6.0.1 window to remain open. I did it for a friend's iPhone and it all worked out fine.

I am able to get the data from the given spool number to be converted into 'RAW' format. I need to convert this data into Excel format nad want to send the mail as attachment.
I want to know is there a Function Module that converts this RAW format data into the Excel format?

instead of that you can do this....
once spool is generated you have spool number , using the spool number you can generate the excel file using the FM <b>RSPO_DOWNLOAD_SPOOLJOB</b>, pass the spool number, and filename as some.xls and then it will download it to xls file,

Also, I am trying to connect my Mini from the mini-Displayport to the Displayport of my Dell U2410 monitor. The image is very grainy,even though it is set to the correct resolution: 1920 X 1200 at 60Hz. If I use HDMI to VGA input, the image is much clearer. Is there a way to get the Displayport to work?

If you're unfamiliar with the system log…
Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.
If necessary, choose View > Show Log List.
system.log is at the top of the FILES section.
Try searching it for hot words like DEBUG, FATAL, and aborted.
I've found some discussions that would tend to indicate my errors are postGres related – I'm running OS X server.

Hello. I have some .mov files that I am able to open with Quick time on my pc but not on my mac. I even tried downloading quick time 7 but still no progress. Is there anything else I can do?

Mavericks changed how media was handled on OS X. Apple moved away from the old Quicktime frameworks (that were started in the 80's IIRC). Now the OS uses AVFramework. It is why Quicktime X (QTX) & Quicktime 7 (QT7) can play different formats.
QT7 used a series of codec plugins (encoder/ decoder) to add support for formats that Apple never supported (like DIVX, WMV, Ogg audio etc). Many users installed plugins like Perian to add these codecs via a simple installer. Perian may still work on QT7 apps, I haven't tested Perian on 10.10. Perian is clearly out of date & abandoned now, see perian.org or see the site of the old codec.
AVFoundation & QTX has no ability to add extra codecs - you get support because the format is correct for AVFoundation to play, you get a dialog that converts the movie or the third option is that AVFoundation can't convert & simply chokes & doesn't allow playback.
Apple have nothing to fix. The reason the movies don't play is because the new framework uses 64bit for everything. The older codecs are not 64bit & since Apple didn't write those codecs they won't fix them either. It may seem like I'm apologising for Apple, but it isn't entirely their fault, things move on.
I'm afraid you need to work out what codecs you have contained in the files (.mov is just a wrapper around the data - the codec is the key to reading the data). mediainfo can help with that

It will list the details of the codecs - from there you need to find an app that will convert to a supported format.
It sounds like you have a sound format that is not compatible with AVFoundation - that means all apps the rely on AVfoundataion no longer play those files (Finder & iMovie use AVFoundataion).

You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new windows installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup! (Windows tip). For a Mac use Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner.
