  • Can I transfer purchases from my account to a new one for my daughter?

Currently I home share my account with my daughter who is now old enough to have her own account. I want to set up an Apple ID in her name, transfer all of her music and apps and her ipod from my account to this new one on her own laptop. Can anyone please tell me (simply - cos I'm old!) how to do it. Obviously, all of these purchases were made under my ID so is it possible to transfer them to her? Any help gratefully received!

On the other hand, you can use one Apple ID for iCloud and another for store (iTunes, App Store) purchases. Depending on what you mean to include in "content," that could help.

  • Is there a way to transfer purchase from old Apple ID to new one?

    Dear Apple and community
I used to use a gmail based Apple ID when I started using iPhone and @mac.com cost $99.00 /year. I had it for a while and I made a lot of purchase through that account. Now I look back into it there are a lot of content I would like to transfer to my current icloud ID. I understand these are two different accounts and they are both mine and I am the account owner. Does not make sense to buy the same content twice. Can you please show me the workflow where I can transfer these GMAIL based purchase to ICLOUD.
I would be much obliged to your help.
    Sincerely,
    Sam

There is none. Only the iTunes Store staff can do that, and they'll probably refuse; if you want to try anyway, click here and ask.

  • Is there anyway you can transfer iMessage on Mac to iPhone?

So.. I forgot to backup my phone (latest backup was about two weeks ago), and I had to replace my phone today (iPhone 6) and now all the messages that I had from the last two weeks are gone. However, they are saved on iMessage on my mac (OS X Yosemite). Is there anyway I can transfer (or sync) messages from the computer to my phone? Thanks!

Messages automatically back up when you do an iCloud backup. To set your device up to automatically back up to iCloud:
iCloud: iCloud storage and backup overview
Settings>iCloud, scroll down the list, and near the bottom you will see Backup with an Arrow. Click on the arrow, and then turn iCloud Backup ON.
This will backup your device automatically when the device is plugged in, on the Slide to Unlock screen, and connected to Wifi.

  • Is there anyway I can transfer the songs, ect to my computer?, Is there anyway I can transfer the songs, ect to my computer?

I had my screen fixed by the manufacturer and they, for some reason, also replaced my hard drive. Is there anyway I can transfer my ipod's songs, ect to my computer?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music.
Use your backup copy to put them back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases:
    Without syncing:  File>Transfer Purchases
Other than itunes purchases, the music sync is one way - computer to ipod.

  • After installinf ios6 I lost all contacts, I could not get them back so I hit restore. This restored the phone to 4 months back. The phone did not give me the option to restore from the cloud. is there anyway I can now restore from the cloud?

How many backups are in the cloud? When I installed ios6 it backed up to the cloud, since then I restored the phone trying to regain my contacts. At this point the used the last backup I performed on the computer 5 months ago. I never had the oppertunity to restore from the cloud. Is there anyway I can now restoe from the cloud and would it have the backup that was performed when I installed ios6?

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  This will erase your phone.  Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your phone is new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.

Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

    Hello cheech07,
The following article contains directions that can help get you back on track with iTunes. I'd recommend picking up at 'Part 5' of the 'External drive' section.

  • I tried to transfer purchases from my iPod to a new computer, but for some of the songs it asks for a different Apple ID and password than mine. Ideas?

I tried to transfer purchases from my iPod to a new computer, but for some of the songs it asks for a different Apple ID and password than mine. Ideas?

You definitely need to resurrect the old password associated with the Apple ID you used to purchase the music.
    Go here: https://iforgot.apple.com
An email will be sent to the email address associated with that account with instructions regarding resetting that Apple ID's password.
If you no longer have access to that email, the resolution to this problem becomes considerably more difficult. In that event you would need to contact iTunes Support and explain your dilemma.

  • How do i transfer money from my account to my new Apple ID account?

Hey guys, I recently made a new Apple ID account for my new MacBook Pro. However, I have over $97 on my old account that I got on a gift card. I was wondering if there is any way that I can transfer that money from that account into my new one? Thanks for the help in advance!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Unfortunately you cannot transfer credits from one account to another. Nor can you purchase gift vouchers to send to your new account with a credit balance. I believe the only way you can utilise your credit balance is to use it up.

  • How do you transfer playlists from on computer to a new one, library has already been transfered

how do you transfer playlists from on computer to a new one, library has already been transfered

    - Why not just copy the iTunes computer folder to the new computer?
    - You can transfer iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - You can transfer non-iTunes purchased music by using one of the third-party programs discussed in ths previous discussion:
    Best iPod to PC
    - Unless you can move/copy the iPod backup file from your old computer to the new one and restore from backup, you will have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod and thus loose all app date. The iPod backup file is located:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
