It sounds like you are using the British keyboard layout when you have a US keyboard. Go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and check the box for US and uncheck the box for British. That way the keys will produce what it says on them. £ will be at option/alt + 3.

You can only track it if you turned on Settings > iCloud > Find My before it was lost/stolen, and then registered it in iCloud's Find My Phone service. You must then log in to iCloud, click Find My Phone and see if it shows up. If it is turned off, not connected to the internet or been reset to factory condiditon it will not show up. There is no way to track it except in that way.
Report it to the police, insurance and cell provider in case the will blacklist the iPhone so it cannot be used.
Change your passwords for accounts on the iPhone.

I do not want to type "£", i want to type "#". Shift+3 = "£" option+3 changes me to desktop 3 insead of typing a "#". What I did with getChildByName was a stupid thing.
tagInitW is a uint type variable and so is tagInitH. I also created tag1InitW, tag1InitH... of dataType uint which store the tag1_mc.width and tag1_mc.height for future use.
What i am trying to do is to have tagInitW store the initial width of the coresponding movieClip. Because I am scaling the movieClips to 1px in the first place I can't make reference to tag1_mc.width later, so i store the width in tag1InitW before i scale them;
So when that tween does it's tricks i want to have tagInitW = tag1InitW, tag2InitW etc, depeding on the sliderIndex which I increment repeatedly.

The save box will appear and you need to either save your page along with slices as HTML or CSS. I don't know what type of mail bigpond is, but if it is Exchange or IMAP, you can create folders on your iPad to keep messages in. To create a folder, you go to the main page of your mailboxes in the mail app and on the top you see mailboxes, on the bottom you see accounts. Open the mailbox from the accounts side. On the right hand upper corner you'll see an edit button. Touch it and you'll see a new mailbox button on the bottom right hand corner. Touch new mailbox, type in the name and you'll have a new folder, which you can store messages in.

In Messages on the Mac do you have the Preferences > Messages section set to "Save History when Conversations are Closed" ?
This will store all IMs and iMessages in ~/Library/Messages/Archive.
Use the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type that path into the Dialogue box that appears. (~/Library/Messages/Archive).
They are stored in dated folders so some guessing/trail and error will be needed.
You may find that if this was an iMessage and you send the person a new message that the whole History with that Contact since you installed Mountain Lion/Started Messages may appear and that it is scrollable the closer you get to the "top" and the top may keep moving until all is on show.

You need to satisfy several things along the way
Account type
You need to have a Jabber or Google mail Account your self.
If you have a Google Mail Account then it needs the "Talk" option Enabled in your Google account Settings ( A Facebook with "Chat" enabled is also a valid Jabber ID to use in iChat).
Connection Method
This is about which apps can connect to which apps for Video ro Audio to work.
iChat Video when using a Jabber account is iChat to iChat Only.
iChat connects using a process called SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
Jabber based Apps if they have an A/V module connect using protocol called Jingle.
Needless to say Google do their own version of this that is written in to the web Browser Plugin that allows Video Chats (there are PC and Mac versions), and in the PC app called GoogleTalk.
However it is also not that compatible with other Jabber apps.

This claims, now, that Google had a hand in writing the Protocol.
Also in the "Clients Supporting Jingle" list many more version of Google products are mentioned with extended info. (it suggests that someone at Google has been editing the page).

We are talking about different Apps (or web Browser Plugins) using different Internet Protocols that are not compatible.
The simplest thing is to get the Web Browser Plugin (However there can be issues with the Flash Plugin)
At one time Google used Flash to do Video Chats and it would seem their Plugin is very close to this part of Flash.

Options
Use a Web Browser yourself with the Plugin.
Use a Flash Base Site such as MeBeam (Flash has to be enabled in your Browser and the instructions are simple on the page)
Try to find a Jingle capable Mac Jabber Client (app) ( I have not found one).
