Is there anyway to allocate more memory to Dreamweaver?

I'm developing a several humdred page site with multiple hotspots and DW will frequently crash. I assume it's because it lacks sufficient memory for waht I want. I'm using a 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core G5with 10 GB 800 MHz
DDR2 FB-DIMM.
Any suggestions besides buying a new G5 which i can't do right now.
Thanks

Highly unlikely to be memory, esp on a 10GB system which would even make Photoshop happy. DW is not memory intensive.
Something else is happening on your system if DW is crashing frequently.
Which version of DW? Which operating system? Got a link to your website so we can take a look? Any error messages when DW crashes?

    Thank you

It's annoying because the amount of memory apple advertise is not actually all for you to use. I bought an 8g iPod thinking it would be enough but didn't realise 2g of the 8g is already used for you!

  • How do i allocate more memory to my iphoto application? i am unable to add more photos to my library  i keep getting a pop up saying not enough memory in my application

how do i allocate more memory from my hd to my iphoto application? i have over 80 gb on my hard drive, but only 1.7 gb allocated to my iphoto application & i am unable to add more photos to my library.  i keep getting a popup that says not enough application memory.

There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
These instructions are for OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks.") The procedure may be slightly different for earlier versions of OS X.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the View menu, if it's not already selected. Select the Memory tab. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
    from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The processes named "Safari Web Content" render web pages for Safari. They use a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider them prime suspects.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
"Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the  leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

  • While sync : can't allocate more memory !!!(WCE)

    Hi All,
I'm synchronizing (/Orace/mSync.exe) several MB of data (not much more of 10 MB) on a CASSIOPEIA E-200 (64 MB) with a SD Card extension of 128 MB. While synchronizing, main memory decreases dramatically (main memory, not external memory) and finally i get the message:
    -2000 can't allocate more memory -2000:0
Other synchronizations with a smaller amount of data are working ok.
It is posible for a sync of ~10 MB to drain >40MB of main memory?? !!
By now, i'm using the SD Card directory to store the synchronized client DB, but this is not enough to solve the problem.
I think that temporary files and processes on main memory are involved in this problem. It is posible to use memory cards for this??
    Some ideas????
    Thanks in advance.
    Andris

    Humm,
I think the problem may be the size of a single table replication.
The replication of 10000 registers from this table is working ok, but replicating 25000 i get the error ("Can't allocate more memory").
Anyone knows a limitation in the number of registers or size of a table replication????!!!
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
No, nothing you can do. The system will work this out for you and it will allocate AVAILABLE memory for the GPU if required.

  • Can't allocate more memory

Hello, i have installed Oracle 10g and I need to configure the database connections to allow fo over 10,000 concurrent connections. We are doing heavy stress testing. When i attempt to configure sessions it tells me there is not enough memory. I tried to change the max_sga_size from 540MB to 2000MB and I get the following error when I restart the database:
    ORA-27102: out of memory
    OSD-00022: additional error information
O/S-Error: (OS 8) Not enough storage is available to process this command.
the server has 4GB of RAM and there appears to be over 3GB available.
Any ideas on how to accomplish this?
    Thank you,
    -David

how are you checking that there is 3GB free? perfmon, taskmanager, sysinternals proc explorer?
with the default windows setting you should be able to allocated 2048 to oracle. However this is for the Oracle.exe process and the SGA is only one element of the mem allocation. What about the PGA. You need to make sure the total of all memory parameters do not exceed 2048MB. try setting the SGA max = 2048 - PGA. Assuming your PGA parameter is set to between 190 - 300MB you can try the /3GB switch. • How do I allocate more memory to Photoshop CS5?

I'm using a number of plugins with Photoshop, and Photoshop often closes automatically or freezes.   The plugins use considerable memory (>1GB) and the problem may be that there's not enough memory allocated to Photoshop + plugins.   Under preferences, it lists 2100 MB allocated.  I have 16 GB of ram available.  How can I allocate, let's say, 4 GB to Photoshop to see if this eliminates the problem?

Here's my Photoshop Elements info. Do you have yours maxxed out at 100%? I have 12GB total. I guess that's all you can do.

  • Is it possible to allocate more memory to PS Elements 9?

PS Elements 9 states that available RAM is 3072 Mb. My system has 16 Gb so I would like to give a lot more to Elemnets if possible.

PS Elements 9 is presumably a 32-bit application. That means it is incapable of using more than 3 GB of memory.

  • Oracle9i allocates more memory?

We are migrating from Oracle8i to Oracle9i. We found that all Background processes and all user processes take about twice as much memory as in 8i. Further, also temp and undo tablespace are filled twice as fast.
Is this a hidden feature of Oracle9i or do we have a problem that can be solved.

No! That is not how any of the projects I pointed you to is supposed to work, and sure not the way they work here in IE using Java 6.
Using IE/Java 6, it is +'one click' till 'application on-screen'+ for the JTest applet.

  • Is there anyway to record more than one track at a time on garageband for ipad?

Just wondering if that is possible or in the works?

GarageBand for iPad only allows to record on one track at a time. That is the selcted one that turns into the Instrument View where the actual recording is done.
If multi-track recording is in the works, nobody know except Apple and they won't usually pre-announce that kind a things. My guess, it will not be implemented.
    Hope that helps
