To change your Apple ID go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in with the ID you want to use.  To change the password go to https://appleid.apple.com/, click on Manage you account to the right, sign in, click on Password and Security on the left, the Change Password on the right.  If you change your password you will need to sign out on your phone, then sign back in using the new password.

  • If I change my apple id and password on my desktop, will the new id and password be automatically changed in my laptop, my iPad and my iPhone?  If not, is there a safe way to consolidate ids, passwords, etc."

Question: Is there a way to consolidate Apple IDs and passwords on my desktop, laptop, ipod, ipad and iphone?  I waste too much time trying to remember something different for each device or operation.

This knowledge base article is the AppleID Faq...I recently changed my AppleID password, not the ID iteself, and the passward was synced across all devices.
You cannot consolidate AppleIDs so you have to just establish one that will be used for all activities.  And keep in mind, app purchases are tied to the AppleID used for the purchase so updates have to be made using that ID.

  • I have changed my apple ID and password but cannot change it on my Icloud on my Ipad or Iphone can anyone help

I have changed my apple ID on my Mac, but it has not transferred to Iclound on my phone or Ipad, how do I do this, as the option for my apple ID in the Icloud section cannot be changed on my device and it is showing my old ID can anyone help

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

I had to change my Apple ID and password in itunes. Now my icloud doesn't work and I can't update my apps on my iPhone. I have looked at suggestions on the community pages and apple suggestions but none of them are relevant to iOS 8.1.2
icloud just keeps bringing up my old email address & asking for my old password which doesn't exist anymore and when I try to sign out of icloud it wants my old password, when I tried to change my primary email back to the old one it wants me to verify it through an email address that doesn't exist. Please can you help me sort out this nightmare.

    Hi skippy2012trev,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    Cheers,
    Joe

  • After changing my Apple ID and password, I can no longer sign into iCloud on my iPhone or iPad.  What do I do?

After successfully changing my Apple ID and password on my MacBookPro, I can no longer connect with iCloud on my iPad2 or iPhone 4.  Both devices have the latest OS updates, although the MBP is 10.5.8.  When attempting to connect with iCloud, Settings has my old ID, and won't allow me to change it mnually.
    I'll surly appreciate a solution!

Well, first of all, your MBP can't work with iCloud, you need Lion (10.7) to do that.  So it shouldn't matter what you did on your laptop.
There may be some confusion here.  There is the Apple ID that your iTunes uses to buy things at the app store as well as songs and video.  Then there's there ID used for iCloud.  They are not necessarily the same.  When you say you changed the Apple ID and password on the MBP, that was for iTunes (since it can't use iCloud).  Or did you access iCloud with a browser and change things that way?

    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.

  • I changed my apple id and password on my computer how do i change it on my iphone

I changed my apple id and password on my computer. How do I change it on my iphone.

Welcome to the Apple Community Amy.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account. You may have already done this.

I had to change my Apple ID and password.  Now when I try to download or buy an app it says your Apple ID is disabled.  How can I fix this?

If it says "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons", then you will just need to change you password by following these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2446
If it does not says "...for security reasons" you will have to contact the iTunes Store to have your account 'un-disabled' http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

  • If I change the apple id and password to a new apple id will it erase my phone?

if I change the apple id and password to a new apple id will it erase my phone?
A friend of mine has a phone that is set up on someone else's apple id. We want to change it to his new apple id and keep all the info on the phone. and back up to icloud.
I am thinking if I just change the apple id account it will back up the phone on the new account?
Am  afraid that it may erase everything?

No, but why are you changing your Apple ID? Any apps and other content that you have purchased are forever tied to that Apple ID and you will have to purchase them all again.
To erase the phone for use with another Apple ID, follow these instructions: What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • I changed my Apple ID and Password, now I can't get into iCloud.

I changed my Apple ID and Password, so now when I get on my iPhone it asks me for my password to my old Apple ID, which doesn't work. I called Apple Support. The solution is absolutely ridiculous. You have to go back and change your Apple ID to your old Apple ID and then go back into iCloud and iTunes on your phone and delete or reset the account. Basically, you are supposed to anticipate these issues prior to changing your Apple ID, or else you're locked out of your iCloud and iTunes. I thought Apple was smarter than this. Very disappointed.
Apple provided a procedure, listed in the first article I posted, that instructs you to log out of all Apple ID related services prior to changing your primary email address.  Granted, I'd like to see a reminder link listed at appleid.apple.com next to the Primary Email Address edit option, but Apple does provide a correct procedure, plus a way to fix it if you don't follow the procedure.
In fact, the last article I linked to gives you three separate steps to try.  If the Apple Support Advisor jumped straight to step three, instead of having you try steps one & two first, then that was not correct on their part.
    1. Use your current Apple ID password
Trying using your current Apple ID password. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
    2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
If you are not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.
Complaining about an issue arising when you don't follow their instructions is like complaining that you lost all of your data because you never backed it up to iTunes or iCloud as they recommend, and you lost data after an iOS update.  In fact, the very first step of [iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Support - Apple] states: "Back up your device to iCloud or iTunes."  And it even includes a link if you don't know how to do that.
When you use the Apple Support Articles properly, you avoid 99.9% of all potential problems.

  • I changed my apple id and password online, next time i turned on my computer icloud pops up asking for a password with my old apple id.  i enter my password and it doesnt work, how do i change my iCloud id to my updated apple id?

I changed my apple id and password online.  The next time I turned on my computer, iCloud popped up asking for a password, but displaying my old apple id.  I tried signing in, but I think because it is my old apple id listed it doesnt let me.  Anyone have any idea how I can update the iCloud apple id and password to reflect that of my apple id?

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I change my apple Id and password in the Apple's webside but I can change it in my Iphone. How can i change my Icloud ID ? Help!!!

I change my apple Id and password in the Apple's website but I can change it in my Iphone. How can i change my Icloud ID ? Help!!!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.
