Is there anyway to check a wish list or playlist against your library?

You see, I've created a playlist which is for one of my favourite albums from the 80s that I have on cassette. Now, I know I already have some of the tracks, as I have a HUGE 80s music library, but I wondered if there was an easy way to check if I already had any of the tracks, possibly lurking away on a compilation album that I haven't paid much attention to.
iTunes has changed the way we listen to music, you see. I can tell you every track I have in my cassette library, I couldn't do the same for the dip and mix nature of listening to music on iTunes when I've ripped a load of CDs. Heck, I even buy some cheap compilation CDs on the strength of one or two tracks and never listen to the rest!

What you can redownload for free will show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes, and in the Purchased tabs in the iTunes and App Store apps (and the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app) on your phone. If you redownload via those then you shouldn't be charged again.

I have a first generation 8GB I-pod touch. For some reason, it will no longer come on (it randomly cut off after being on with a full battery, and now when I press the power button, the apple appears but never fully comes on). Click on "Account Management" and then on "Forgotten Security Questions". That will take you to a page where you can talk to iTunes Support right away, or you can schedule a call to talk to them. They should be able to get you squared away so that you can log on to the old Apple ID.

At this time iPhone users cannot view timestamps of when contacts are created, deleted or modified within the Contacts app. Try browsing old messages or phone records to find out when you first contacted the number. That may give you a better idea of when you initially had access to the number or created the contact.

Is there anyway to check to see if my processor works?

I recently built my own pc and for a little while, everything was working except the fan. So, I sent the old fan back and got a new fan. I put the fan on the cpu and when it looked like my pc was about to boot nothing happens. I've tried switching out power supplies but my pc still won't boot. I really think that it's the processor because I also tried removing everything except the cpu, video card, hard drive, and fan. I can't think of anything else to do.

Well, your options are:
1. Pull out processor and put in another working MOBO (make sure that you have extra thermal grease around for this). If it doesn't start up, then it very well could be you processor.
2. Check for any burns on your processor. If there are then RMA it and see if they will replace it for you.
Those are the only two things that I can think of to look for. Sorry I can't be more help.
BTW. What are the Power specs for your power supply? Make sure that the 12V rail is over 18A. 24A or more is ideal. If you PSU is lower than 18A on the +12V rail then you need a new power supply.

Background to this:
I am deploying an Apex Reports Application. I have set up two lists.
The first List is a list of all the reports that the company delivers.
The second list is a list of reports that the client delivers.
These lists are on separate pages, which are navigated to via TABS.
I have locked all the pages that I have written.
I want to prevent the client from accessing my list, but allow them access to their list.

You can lock it to a particular app if you have iOS 6 installed, with a new 'Guided Access' accessibility function (Settings > General > Accessibillity > Guided Access)- from here :

I don't think that you can use to limit it to a particular screen of apps, just to be within one particular app.

When you sign out your iCloud data will disappear from your Mac and iPhone (as it's held on the server) though you may be offered the oppportunity to save it. In any event you should have a backup, as you've done (it should be a VCard, not an Address Book Archive.
When you open a new iCloud account you can import the backup into iCloud.

Apps Wish List

Can we have something like what's on the Archos Forum (NOT Oxford educated you know) where users can submit a wish list and specs for apps ?
This way apps writers could address specific wants, rather than write an app then find a market for it
Admittedly, posters would be giving their ideas for nothing, but then again if they were able to write their own app they wouldn't subscribe to this wish list anyway.
Perhaps this wish list could be subdivided into catagories as per the Apps store.
To start the ball rolling, how about an app that allows the iPhone/iPod Touch to function as a USB stick, as per my Nano. I know there are apps/pc programmes that allow some functionality, but just to be able to use my iphone 3GS as a simple USB stick, like my Nano, would be a boon (1st Boon of the night ?)

HT1368 Wish list for iTunes app on iPhone 4s?

Movies are too large to download through 3G, so I love to browse iTunes. It would be great to add movies, I want to buy later at home from my iMac, to a wish list.
But where is it on the iPhone 4s? If it's not there, I hope Apple could please add it?

There isn't currently a wish list function on the iPhone, but when you select a film you can use the icon of the share icon (the square with the arrow coming out of it at the top of the screen) to email or message yourself. I added lots of items to my iTunes wish list using my AppleTV last night but today when I went to check my wish list using iTunes on my desktop it is empty - does anyone know any reason why this might happen?

The older version of iTunes does not read the wish list from AppleTV, 11.1.4 finally supports wish list. I'm trying now to find out if here if I have to upgrade my firmware for iTunes to see it.

Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

If your not with AT&T try calling your carrier.

Hesitated to update my AppleTV firmware, because of wish list

Now I see iTunes 11.1.4 supports the wish list viewing in the iTunes library, I have to wonder, can someone with an older version of the AppleTV 2 firmware read the wish list in iTunes? Or do I have upgrade my firmware and then rebuild my wish list for iTunes to see the wish list?

Well I wanted to know for certain. It becomes a real pain to navigate by remote control to find a wish list
that we did on a TV in a totally separate room from our computers, so we can choose which films to rent on Netflix on DVD. Of course if I could tell Netflix to update my DVD queue for films that aren't available for streaming from my AppleTV that would solve that problem from another angle. Managing all my lists from one place should be easy. To have to ask my wife what films she wants to see from the AppleTV catalog, only to have to manually mirror that on my computer is a bear. So that's why I asked seeing that feature addition on iTunes.
