Is there anyway to close apps running in the background with the new IOS 7 operating system?
I would like to be able to close apps running in the background and haven't figured out if I can do it or how to do it with the new operating system update. I would appreciate any help. Thanks and have a good day.

I do not like the new iOS 7 system on both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. I can not like the way Safari works, I can not see a way to enter name to search for new web sites. Is there a way I can go back to the old iOS 6.1.5 operating system on my devices? Thank you.
I can not see a way to enter name to search for new web sites
Put your search terms in the combined URL and search bar at the top of the browser (exactly the same as you do in most modern desktop browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Explorer). There is no separate search box, just use the box where you enter web addresses.
And no, you cannot downgrade. -

Is there anyway to monitor network traffic on the newer Time Capsules, similar to the SNMP monitoring previously?
Can I use a real router and still have the Time Capsule for backups etc?
Yes, that is what Bridge Mode is for. Just connect the Time Capsule to a LAN <--> Ethernet port on your "main" router. -
How do you close apps running in the background in iOS 7?
Do you know how to close apps in iOS 7? In iOS 6 you held your finger on them and when the minus sign came up you closed them that way. This saved the battery. Now there is no way to close the apps once you close them and it runs the battery down rapidly.
To close out apps, simply double click the home button and instead of holding down the app icons and clicking on the X mark in older versions, you have to swipe the app window up and away.
Also you can save on battery by turning of background app refresh from settings, as explained in this article .... http://nyacomputing.com/how-to-close-apps-in-ios-7-and-save-on-battery/ -
TS3274 Background apps. How to close apps running in the background.
I just down loaded iOS 7.1. Background apps closer problem. Double clicking home button no longer opens all my running apps. How will I close running background apps? Thank you.
Double-clicking home button should still work. Unless you changed something, perhaps in accessibility settings? Try varying the speed.
But there is an alternative: swipe with 4 or 5 fingers upward off the top, this should get you to the same place. -
I just updated my phone and can not close the running apps. Battery dying fast. I did try double clicking the home button but swiping up did not work??
With iOS 7, swiping the application thumbnail up the screen does close the app.

I am curious to know about why not to close apps running in the background
I just spoke to a sales guy in the apple store and he said that closing an app by double clicking the home button and force closing it is a bad idea, does anyone have any knowledge of what the reason behind this is?

Apple says to close them so it can't be bad -

Is there anyway to close all open apps at once?
Unfortunately, there is not a way now to close all apps at once. You will have to close them one by one.

i was going to upgrade from 10.6.8 to mavericks 10.9.2, but the installer program notified me stating my appleworks 6 app will not run on the new set up. is there a procedure to keep or switch my documents in order to obtain the mavericks upgrade?
I can't say personally since I never used AW, but see if these articles help:

I suggest that you clone your current drive with 10.6.8 to an external drive. If you have any issues after upgrading to Mavericks, you can boot back into 10.6.8.
Both of these applications can be used to create a clone. If you need help creating your clone, let us know.
