Is there anyway to Email to my phones SMS?

What i mean to say is for my old phone i could text to an email and visa versa, emails could text my number. This was convinient especially when i wanted to goof off during work with out costing my friends they could text me right from their email at work.
I havent found a way to do this with the iphone. Obviously the easy answer is to send mail directly to my phone, the only problem with that is that i wont get the messages instantaneously and i dont want to drain my iphones battery by having it check my three email accounts every 15 minutes.
Anyone else have this problem? Know of a work around?

There is also another web site that does this. Try (receiver's)phone [email protected] Example [email protected] For those that I text a lot to, I put a 2nd address or number in my contact list and use it to address an e-mail to them. They receive the text in seconds as a SMS. Iphone's e-mail is unlimited and saves you being charged with a text message in case you are limited.

-If you established a rescue email address, there will be a link on the "Passwords & Security" page of id.apple.com.  Clicking the link will send the reset to your rescue email address (NOTE:  This is not the same address as your Apple ID email)
-If there is no link on the page, then you didn't establish a rescue email address.  Contact AppleCare at 800.694.7466 (If you are in the US), and ask for account security.  You will need to answer some questions to verify your identity, AND you will need access to a computer to generate a temporary support pin.

  • TS4009 Is there anyway to establish when my phone last backed up on iCloud if the phone in question is no longer usable?

Is there anyway to establish when my phone last backed up on iCloud if the phone in question is no longer usable?
My wife's phone was dropped down the loo just a day after returning from holiday with all our holiday snaps/vids on it. The phone is dead and only showing on iTunes as in recovery mode. No problem I replied, as it should have backed up on iCloud, however she then advised that the iCloud storage full message had been showing recently but was not sure for how long it had been there. Is there anyway to tell when the last back up occurred or do we have to wait for a new device to be be restored?

In 3 years I never synched my calendar to iCloud for fear I would lose my data. I explained all of this (and the fact that my phone had never been backed up to iCloud or iTunes to the tech at the Genius Bar (I was having wifi issues with my phone which is why I was there so I COULD START BACKING UP) and he assured me synching / merging to iCloud would not delete my calendar events: well, it did. Yes! I have spent hours with apple tech support and had my iTunes account in "troubleshoot " status so the engineers could go into iCloud to see if they could retrieve events. They found nothing. I just don't understand where it goes if it's on the phone? I know there are ways forensic engineers retrieve "lost " data on cell phones. I just thought it might be worth it to post on here and see if there is any hope   .

  • I just recently bought a macbook pro. I got an email from apple to update to OSX Lion but I accidentally deleted it. Is there anyway that email can be resent so I don't have to purchase OSX Lion?

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro. After setting up my new laptop, I got an email from Apple about upgrading to OSX Lion. I wasn't sure what the email was so I accidentally deleted it. Afterwards, I was informed that I need this upgrade and I have no way of retrieving this email. Is there anyway another email can be sent out to me so I don't have to purchase OSX Lion through the App Store?

Visit http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate and follow the appropriate links. You will be asked what your serial number is and where you purchased your computer but you will get lion free of charge.

  • Hi All can anyone help me, I have a Iphone 4s and I'm currently recieving nuisance calls via a blocked number is there anyway I can stop my phone accepting blocked numbers? Cheers

Hi all I'm Currently recieving Nuisance Calls via a Blocked number is there anyway I can stop my Iphone accepting Blocked Numbers? Thanks

There is a way! I'm very happy to share this and hope it helps those who find themselves plagued, as I was.
I have been getting nuisance calls for months from some muppet, who hides his phone number before he calls at 3am. I need to keep my phone on, in case any of my immediate family have an emergency. I'm sure many have the same problem, just turning off the phone is not an option. I have been to two or three shops to ask the experts and none could offer me a solution. I was on the verge of tring to jailbreak my phone or even get rid of it to get an andriod one...That's how bad things had become.
Anyway, this is my solution, which I found by trawling through page after page on the internet, for ages and trying various other solutions first. I have an iPhone 4S and the operating system is 6.1.3 and I am in the UK, on Orange, or EE as we should now call it. I cannot promise it will help everyone, but it works for me.
Go to Settings, Do Not Disturb and switch this on. Underneath here, go to Notifications, then Do Not Disturb again. Then Scheduled and set the times you want the restrictions to start and end. For example, I use 7pm to 8am, so that I know I won't get nuisance calls during this period, but whatever times work for you. Underneath, it says Allow calls from and you can select your favourites. If you haven't saved any of your contacts as Favourites, do so, it's very easy. Just go to contacts, open one and underneath the number there is a button to Add to favourites. Repeat for all close friends and family you want to be able to reach you at any time. All your favourites should be allowed to call. I think you can have 50 numbers in the favourites. But any unknown caller should be simply sent to voicemail.
Apple have had some previous issues with the Do Not Disturb feature and to be honest this didnt work 100% of the time for me. If you find the same, don't give up. I suggest you do as I did at this point and use an app called Call Bliss, which seems to have cracked it. (I have NO connection to them and it's no skin off my nose if you use this app or not). There may be other apps that do the same, or even better for all I know. You have a free one day trial then it's £3 if you want to continue to use it. For me, £3 to solve the problem was money very well spent. If you need this app, download it, then do as suggested above to the point where it says Allow calls from and this time you select Bliss Exceptions. Follow the instructions in the app.
There are two modes, I use suppress mode, which allows all calls to get through except those from unknown callers and those specified by you. I believe the other mode blocks all calls, except those you specify. Please note, the app only works when the iPhone is locked. Your lock might come on after the phone is not used for 5 minutes or so, or you can lock the phone by single clicking the on/off button (not holding it down).
I hope this helps anyone as much as it has done me.

  • Is there anyway i can sync my phone to a new computer without loosing everything?

i have been given an apple laptop but i want to connect my iphone 4s to it is there anyway i can connect it to itunes without loosing everything spesh my music?

Yes.  Put your old iTunes library to which you previously synced the phone on the new computer.
Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • Is there anyway to email apple feedback about iphone 4 pre ordering?

Like many of you out there I was one of the Iphone owners looking to upgrade from my 3g yesterday to Iphone 4. I tried from 8am EST till 5pm EST with no luck all day. Finally I get through last night at 10pm EST and the phone has a ship date of July, I am soooooo irritated with AT&T (as always) and Apple (not always) I just want to shoot them an email to tell about my displeasure, I have yet to find any information regarding any email address's? I have owned Iphones since day 1, and their ill preparedness always fires me up, especially for a $299 phone. THANKS

The surprising thing about this pre-ordering train wreck is the huge difference between Apple products and Apple ordering. S. Jobs does a fantastic job of knowing how to design products--their form factor, their interface, their functionality, etc. But Apple's attention to that side of the business is so vastly difference from their public interface on the ordering side of the business.
One major appeal of Apple products is their outstanding quality. Someone in their organization must realize that this quality has to be extended to the entire Apple experience. This is not the first time it has happened (bad ordering experience). If these ordering snafus continue Apple is going to loose some of their edge. And the cell phone wolves are snapping at their heels.

  • Is there anyway to email applestore to ask questions?

I've been having a problem trying to use my iphone4 in South korea.
They said because this phone was bought in Australia it has some kind of lock on it called a "country lock".
And that 80% of the time the lock can be unlocked but 20% they cannot be, depends on where it's bought.
They wouldnt tell be how to unlock this so called "country lock" so ive been searching the internet for any kind of information
but can't seem to find any answer for it. They said I need to call the place I bought this iphone from which was this applestore.com.au
because I am overseas it'd be way too expensive for me to call them so I'm  trying to find out if there's a way for me to email them.
    PLEASE HELP.

Here is how your warranty works.
Complementary warranty is only good in the country you purchased your device in. An Apple store out of that country MAY elect to service your device, but they don't have to. Sending your device to Apple from out-of-country is not covered.
AppleCare that you purchase IS good worldwide. However, you have to purchase it in the country where you purchased your phone.
So, basically, if you take the phone out of the country where you purchased it and you didn't bother with AppleCare, you have to pay for service. Just one more reason to get AppleCare. It's cheap enough.

  • Is there anyway to still have the phone ring when connected to a headset?

When I plug a head set in, the phone no long rings, except through the ear buds. Since I don't like to walk around with the buds in all the time, is there a way to have both the buds AND the phone itself ring when a call comes in, or a notification? I'm sure I'm just being stupid and it's a simple setting, but I am new to iPhones. Does the phone not ring if connected to a blue tooth also? Haven't used one yet, so curious. Thanks...
OH, another weird question, if I am at home and have wi-fi on, does it still count as data usage or since it is going through my wi-fi, it doesn't?

Shoot... couple things I'm not liking about my iPhone, but more things I do... so oh well...
Anyway, because of my poorly written question, I am not sure about your 2nd no... no it won't ring when connected to a blue tooth or no, connecting a blue tooth won't turn off the ringer...?
    Thanks for your help.

  • I purchased a phone 4s from O2 uk and I am currently living in Ireland. I am with O2 ireland but the sim is not accepted in the phone. I will not be in England for at least a year, is there anyway I can unlock the phone?

O2 uk will not unlock the phone for me as I do not have a UK phone number anymore! Is there any other way or have I now got a phone which is worth nothing!

However O2 do unlock UK iPhones
Their webpage covering this is down and has been for several days
This thread has been running on the O2 forum and you may find it has a solution
You have to able to get to the North and you will effectively be on the UK network where you can get the iPhone unlocked with a bit of effort

  • I tried to update my phone to the ios 7.06 and it messed up my phone and said i need to connnect to itunes. is there anyway i can turn my phone on without itunes?

I tried to update my phone to the IOS 7.06 and it messed up my phone and said i need to connect to itunes. Is there any way i can fix my phone without connection to itunes because i am out of town

You'll very likely need iTunes.  But you might as well try a reset since you're out of town.
Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds.  Hopefully you will see an Apple logo and then some progress.

You can't. If your phone is disabled, the data has already been erased...that's the whole point of the passcode. Your only option now is:
Turn your phone off, then force it into recovery mode & restore it:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
