Is there anyway to increase the speed while watching live video?
On Yahoo when I click on news video there is a lag sometimes. What can I do to prevent this?

Stupid question, is there anyway to increase the processor speed?
i have been using my computer since november 2000, then i decided to get an ipod touch and so i had to install usb 2.0, a new HD, and some additional SDRAM. I know that conventionally there are limits to the amount of SDRAM that will get recognized, and stuff, but is there any way to increase the processor speed aka the MHZ of my computer that would be easier and more cost effective than just buying a new one?
In addition to Tom's good advice, there's a chap on eBay who modifies CPUs for AGP models who goes by the eBay name of 'ijnuhb'. I've never used any of his mods, but he's been around a while and I've corresponded with him. Seems reliable.

An important question. Most calling plans established by Verizon Wireless are designed to cover calling plan minutes as part of your calling plan rather than a separate feature. You can generally keep most other features if you change your calling plan if that is what you are concerned about.
Maybe I can provide a better answer with some details and make a recommendation to you. Could you advise us what calling plan you currently have? What specific concerns do you have regarding what features you might lose?

Samin many countries (for instance the UK) it is illegal to record the radio as we havent purchased the music to do so.
as for it being to quiet, what headset are you using? I have used nokia phones before in the past for this and found them quite good apart from the 3250 which was quiet. the soloution to this was to change the headphones, then everything was fine -
My Lacie Thunderbolt HDD seems to respond slowly, slower than my Firewire 800 Lacie. Just wondering if I can see transfer speeds in real time. Also be nice to see how much of my memory I'm using and processor.

Is there anyway to increase the connection time when using Remote Connections in Photoshop CC
I am using the Adobe Tutorial Player and have a connection estiblished between my iPad and Photoshop CC. The connect drops frequently. Is there a way to incerase the connection time lenght. It would be helpful in working through the tutorial to not loose the connection. I am using Photoshop CC, Windows 8.1 and iOS 7.0.4

Aside from turning auto-calculation off, you would need to copy the cells and paste them as values to get a static worksheet. This will eliminate any future refreshes. -

Each MacBook has a Model Number like 2,1, 3,1 etc... To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.

I am doing an an aquisition and displaying the data on graphs. When I run the program it is slow. I think because I have the number of scans to read associated with my scan rate. It takes the number of seconds I want to display on the chart times the scan rate and feeds that into the number of samples to read at a time from the AI read. The problem is that it stalls until the data points are aquired and displayed so I cannot click or change values on the front panel until the updates occur on the graph. What can I do to be able to help this?

It may also be your graphics card. LabVIEW can max the CPU and you
screen may not be refreshing very fast.

I started downloading a rental movie on apple tv, but I live in a rural area with terrible Internet download speed...is there anyway to stop the download, and resume downloading, onto my iPad when I have access in an urban setting with high speed Internet?
Yes, to be honest I was a little surprised myself. But it absolutely didn't connect when plugged into the test socket (I even tried to force a connection from the Home Hub manager but it wasn't having it). It is definitely the master socket. The only extension is a small piece of (engineer installed) phone cable to link the hub and the master socket (because the socket and mains power are unhelpfully on opposite walls of the hallway).
I ran the Java download for Google anyway and it only took about an hour. The speedtester results are as follows:
Download speed achieved during the test was - 109 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2560 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps
I don't as a rule disconnect / reboot the hub; today it has been dropping off on its own, while several days ago I tried a few reboots just to try and get a connection.
Additional info - my exchange is actually called Claypole Fenton (or vice versa). Whatever, my profile has probably been welded to 135k for days and days.

Hi all,
I might be being a little dull here, but my question is exacly as in the title: Is there anyway to disable the chime when I accidentally catch the microphone icon while texting (phone is in silent mode)? I have fat fingers occasionally and whilst people at work don't mind private phone usage to have it occasionally activating the mic and then me cancelling it a little annoying.
Any suggestions?

DaveThere is a proximity sensor that should turn the screen off when you place the phone near your face. Do you have a case that's blocking this? Try removing your case. If no case, try restoring you iPhone. If still a problem, return it to Apple for a warranty replacement.

More RAM and a SSD. If you're running under 8GB of RAM, I would recommend upgrading to 8GB. You can check out Crucial or OWC for the correct RAM configuration for your model.
While you're at Crucial, I would also look at the available SSDs that would fit your machine - just use the System Scanner tab, and it will show you the recommended upgrades.
RAM and SSDs are about the only things you can upgrade to make your computer faster.

The reason why I ask is, that I have a number of devices that connect to my wireless connection and for some reason my Apple TV only connects at 65Mbps thus making it virtually impossible to stream videos to it. (videos are choppy on it)
When I look in the 'Home Network' section on the HH3, it shows that my Apple TV has connected at 65 Mbps - the device has a 'N' network adaptor built-in, so in theory it should connect at a faster speed.

Hi there,
First off, what I would suggest is that you download either inssider 2 if you're on a PC or istumbler if you're using a Mac and check for other wireless networks around you that could be causing interference and change to a less congested channel, if need be.
If the above doesn't help, then I'd suggest that you look into replacing your router with another one, which has QOS such as the Netgear WNDR3700 which has Dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11n) so that you can prioritise bandwidth for your different pieces of kit.

How can I increase the speed at which I write to a spreadsheet?
We are trying to acquire data rapidly during a 1.5 second test. We are able to acquire the data at a variety of speeds, but are unable to write it to an Excel spreadsheet any faster than 10 Hz. Is there a way to speed the writing to a file or are we stuck with this rate?

I noticed your post was in the DAQ group, but you didn�t mention which
programming language you are using. This answer is tailored to
LabVIEW, but if you are using something else, let me know. Since you
are running such a short test, it might be easier to acquire all of
your data first and then write it to a spreadsheet file.
If this is not preferable, you could use lower-level file VIs. Using
a VI such as the �Write To Spreadsheet File� within a while loop is
inefficient since it opens and closes the file each time it writes a
new value. One of the fastest ways to write to a file is to first
open the file. Then in your while loop, perform your data acquisition
and write to the file. Finally, close the file after your while loop
completes. If thi
s is what you are already doing, you could try
writing to a binary file instead of an ASCII file.
Try acquiring your data and then writing it to a file. Or try using
lower-level file VIs to increase the speed of file writing. If this
does not address your problem, please provide some additional
information such as the VIs you are currently using to write to the
file or post all or part of your VI.
