Is there anyway to move the menu items on the left?

In help I found this, "You can’t rearrange the application menus on the left." Is anyone aware of any possible way to do this? Thanks. Melody

When Mac Help says you can't ... you can depend on it telling you the truth.

"The menu bar runs along the top of the screen.
On the left end of the menu bar are the application menus. The name of the application you are currently using appears in bold next to the Apple menu. There are several other application menus, often with standard names such as “File,” “Edit,” “Format,” “Window,” and “Help.”
On the right end of the menu bar are menus represented by icons. These menus show the status of your computer or give you quick access to certain features.
You can add some icons to the right end of the menu bar. For example, in the Sound pane of System Preferences, you can select a checkbox to show a volume slider in the menu bar. Some applications let you add an icon to the menu bar during installation.
To rearrange the menu bar icons on the right end of the menu bar, hold down the Command key while dragging the icons. To remove them, hold down the Command key and drag them out of the menu bar.

HT203175 My ITunes software on my Dell computer is not displaying the menu items or the windows content of my music. The menus are active, but you cannot see the choices. I suspect a missing font set. Any suggestions before I trash the whole environmen

Loading the last two versions of the ITunes software to my Dell computer has produced unacceptable results. None of the pull down menus are showing the menu choices and none of the content on my IPod Touch shows up in the appropriate window. As a result, I have an interface with no functionality. It does still sync my Touch but that is all. I assume a missing font set. Any suggestions on how to correct these issues.
I also now get a message that ITunes cannot play back anything on my computer and a request to reinstall the software - which I have done multiple times both the original and the upgrade.

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

Updated to 10.4.1 and can't see the menu titles or the song names, even though they are there and can be played. the other categories (tv, apps, etc) seem to be OK.

i just upgraded my pc to windows 7 and itunes to 10.4.1, but i can't see the menu items at the top left of itunes. they are there, because if i move my mouse over the area where they should be, i see and can select from the drop down menus. this problem also affects my music library; i cannot see the individual song names/artists/etc, but if i double click on the blank line it does play the song. the app library and video library seem OK, only the music library is a problem. also, when i connect my iphone, it recognizes it, but the main screen for my device has no words on it, just a picture of the phone.

Hi, Sanjiv - My son fixed this problem for me by showing me that in addition to the visible volume slider at the top left of the iTunes window you also need to pull down the blue airplay menu right alongside that volume slider (the little blue box with the triangle). When you pull down that menu you will see volume settings for "computer" which controls the built-in speakers, plus a list of the other external speakers you may have set up using Airport. When I did that I saw that the volume on "computer" was right down at zero levl even though the main iTunes slider was at full level. When I selected the "computer" under "single" or "multiple" options and adjusted the volume it came back up. It worked for me, I hope it solves your issue too. Best, John.

Repainting problems of the Menu items in Oracle Help Navigator

All,
I am facing a strange problem when using Oracle Help for my application which is developed in Java,Swings.
Whenever, I open Help for any component through my application, the menu items in the Help screen are not visible. They are not getting repainted. Only when user drags the mouse over the items, they are getting repainted and visible to the user. This has been raised as a bug by our testing people. I couldn't get any help in aspects of any errors/exceptions being logged when the action takes place.
Where can I have the log files for Help window?
Can anyone help me and guide me to the right solution in this regards.

iweb2 navbar is rendered by javascript widget, therefore you can change navbar font style with javascript; this is an efficient way to change navbar font style.

Populating menu items from the database...is it possible?

we have a requirement in forms where we need to populate the menu items from the database.first we used hiearchial tree where it was possible.but since the requirement changed i am not sure that whether the menu items can be populated by data from the database...will be glad if someone could throw some light on this issue...

You could always do it but would need to put a fix limit on the number of menu items.
For example you could create a set of menu items at design time with the visible property set to False.
While reading the database, you then set them to True while setting the label to whatever you require.
But it all depends also on what you want your menu items to do when selected.

When I go through the 'import favorites' from Internet Explorer, everything seems to progress correctly. However, when I click on Bokkmarks, there is no option in the menu for accessing the imported items form EI. Is there a fix for this?

Are you sure the Bookmarks you important are nowhere to be found? They should be stored in your bookmark manager, somewhere. To access the bookmark manager, go into ''Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks...''. Try searching there.
You can change their place from there too.

I have cleared my history and the history now automatically is cleared, but the ten items in the drop down menu continue to be there from weeks ago. How do I clear them?

The ten items in the drop down History header continues to show ten sites that I several weeks ago. Any new sites that I have used recently or am currently using do not appear in this list. I have configured the history settings to clear automatically, but those ten old sites persist throughout all current use. How do I get rid of them?

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.<br />
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.<br />
This will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.<br />

The menu item "TV shows" has disappeared

The menu item “TV shows” has disappeared in the video section of my ipod. I downloaded and watched a TV show earlier and now it’s completely gone (both the show and the menu item). Please help!

Is that normal for menu items to disappear? I wasn’t worried about the specific TV show being gone but it was bugging me that the menu item was gone. Shouldn’t “TV Shows” be listed whether or not there are TV shows downloaded? For example the “video pod casts” & “music videos” still show in the video list even when they are empty. I would expect the same of the TV Shows. Anyway thanks again!!!

Where is the “apps” menu item in the new iTunes interface? I can no longer transfer files from my PC to my iPhone.
I just downloaded and installed the updated iTunes for my iPhone. I cannot find the “apps” menu item anywhere. How can I continue to download various types of files FROM my PC (Windows 7) TO my iPhone? I previously did this by clicking on the “apps” menu item and going from there. I cannot find the “apps” anywhere on the new iTunes. Thanks.

Tonefox, no it's not under "Music" but I did some more digging and found where Apple has "hidden" Apps on their latest iTunes for PC. You need to click on "iPhone" (upper right menu item) to display more menue items, of which Apps is one of them. When I had clicked on "iPhone" before, I mistakenly closed the the iPhone option from view because I clicked on the up arrow next to iPhone, instead of just iPhone. Once you click on iPhone, the options look similar to what they did in the earlier version of iTunes and you can easily find Apps.

Removing menu items in the upper right corner?

I found some *.menu files in "System > Library > Core Services" folder that allow you to add menu items near the clock in the upper right corner of the Finder. I added some by accident just to see what they are and now I can't find a way to remove them. Does anyone know how? There is an "eject" icon and a "OS9 Startup" icon that I want to remove. There is also an American flag for the keyboard type.

Merging two or more audio files, by a contextual menu item within the finder

Hello, everyone,
I want to merge or concatenate two or more simple audio files (wavs at the same sample rate and bit depth) into a new wav file - which don't need any conversion. I want to do this using a contextual menu service within the finder. Is there any possibility to do this? I can't find any software in the market that will allow me to do this.

Both of those directories are empty and I have deleted them and re-created them. I have been able to add and remove plugins for other applications so this is very strange.
Using "Easy Find" I did locate a preference file, which I have deleted but that has not resolved it. I have tried safe mode and single user mode but no luck. I couldn't find any automator actions either.
When I click on the menu item it says "ClamXav is not installed. Please install ClamXav and try again" so it knows it needs to use this program somehow.
It's very odd and must be a result of a crash I had, though I would love to get to the bottom of it, it isn't serious and will hopefully go when I upgrade to Snow Leopard

How to avoid arrow symbol on the menu items....

I am beginer in using Dream Weaver, I wanted to create a website,
I created a menu using Insert Spry Menu option, I don't want to see the arrow symbol on the menu items if there are some submenus. Could you please let me know if we have any option to do that?

The arrow symbol is a useful visual signal, but if you do want to get rid of it simply delete the four style rules in the section labelled "Submenu Indication" in the SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css or SpryMenuBarVertical.css style sheet in the SpryAssets folder.
