Is there anyway to recover deleted documents in Icloud

I deleted the app on the left side of the pane for all of my text edit documents.
Is there any way to get them back?

Will, can you explain a bit more, what exactly you deleted?

Which pane are you referring to?  Are you asking about Documents in the Cloud in Mavericks or iCloud Drive in Yosemite?
Is your profile signature "MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), Upgraded from snow leopard 10.6.8" still current?

On a mac, when you save docs to icloud, a local copy is also saved.  It's saved at:
    ~/Library/Mobile Documents
Note that Library in the user's home folder is now hidden, so you'll have to set Finder to view hidden files.
The Mobile Documents folder has subfolder where copies of the doc/data files are stored.
If the file(s) are no longer there, then use your Time Machine backups to get copies back to the mac.

  • Is there anyway to recover deleted text messages without a backup?

I have an Iphone 3gs. I desperately need to recover deleted text messages from it. I have never synched my phone to itunes, "automatically synch to itunes" has always been unchecked. I had never made a back up until a few days ago, but i need to recover the messages deleted prior to creating the backup. is this possible at all? thank you
and once the phone is synched, are your deleted messages lost forever
    thank you so much!

If the backup is made after the messages were deleted, then you won't be able to get them back via an iTunes restore. However, you may be able to use a third-party program to look at the backup made after the messages were deleted and see what information about those messages is recoverable.
One program, the one I work on, is called Decipher TextMessage. Our software will scan the text-message database and show you what information (whole and incomplete) was found that has been previously deleted. We've had a lot of success helping folks recover their deleted text messages -- it doesn't always work 100% since we're at the mercy of how the database works but it's worth a shot to see what you can find!
The website for Decipher TextMessage is http://deciphertools.com
If you're curious about how the message recovery works, I've also posted more about it in these other threads:

You're also welcome to visit our website, try the software free, and send us any questions that you have.

  • Is there anyway to recover deleted pages document?

I was trying to save a keynote document before, and it was forcing an iCloud version as well as, being large, I had to go into my pages documents and tried deleting all but this 1. I went ahead and tried to save a version of the iCloud documents to the mac, but it error'ed and only saved about half of the documents, so it was deleted from iCloud and not saved from this try, there is apparently no version on the computer, including mobile documents folder, i do not use time machine.

Tried backing it up from itunes, no luck. Too bad there wasn't a "Trash" feature on the I OS. Bummer. Thanks for the response-much appreciated.

  • Is there anyway to recover files permanently deleted in trash after a two month period?

I deleted some files that I thought I transferred to an external hard drive.  However, after 2 months, I realized that all of the files did not transfer and I deleted them in trash about two months ago.  Is there anyway to recover these files?

Probably not. All I can suggest is you contact a recovery service, but it's expensive and since you've been using the machine for over two months, most likely they're overwritten.

Youi can look in the Trash. If it hasn't been emptied, the file may still be there.

I recently had a friend pass away and wanted to grab the photos and read the imessages we exchanged, but i deleted the string.  is there anyway to recover this imessage stream?

There are two methods to recover deleted imessages.
    1. Restore them from a previous iTunes or iCloud backup.

  • Is there anyway to recover synced over songs?

I bought the new iphone 5 the other day and went to sync my old iphone 4 to my new computer. I received a new laptop because the old one fried... losing all my itunes content. I foolishly thought that if I downloaded itunes onto my new laptop and plugged my old iphone 4 into it... that it would just sync/back up all my music to itunes and my library would be restored.... WRONG. The sharing option was on and it deleted my entire library and replaced it with another member of the house's library. Is there anyway to recover my old itunes songs without having a back up of them? The only music that is in my iphone now is my husbands music that synced accidentally from sharing. Mine is gone.
    Thanks

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer, for just such an occasion.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can redownload itunes purchases.  You cannot get any other music.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Is there anyway to retrieve deleted text in my notepad?

Is there anyway to retrieve deleted text in my notepad?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Certainly no easy way, I'm afraid.
The difficulty in restoring iCloud data from a back up is that the back up is older than the current version on iCloud and anything that is restored gets removed again when an iCloud sync occurs. I have previously suggested ways to recover contacts, calendars etc, and other users have confirmed that they work, as such I am making the following suggestions to recover lost notes, but please note, as yet success is unconfirmed.
Recovering your notes is quite time consuming, you may wish not to save all your notes to save some time, if they are not of importance.
        1.    Ensure the device is connected to your local network.
        2.    Start the restore from iCloud back up.
        3.    Allow the devices settings to restore (watch for the confirmation of completion).
        4.    As the apps begin to restore pull the connection to your router WAN port (the one that goes to the telephone point).
        5.    Wait for the time out confirmation.
        6.    Open the 'Notes' app, and open your first note (assuming your deleted notes have now been restored).
        7.    Select the share option at the foot of the screen (rectangle with arrow) and choose mail.
        8.    Send the email to yourself (If they won't send, save them to draft)
        9.    Repeat steps 7 & 8, until you have copied all the notes you wish to save to email.
        10.    Reconnect the router to the internet and let the restore process complete.
        11.    Navigate to settings > iCloud and make sure 'Notes' syncing is enabled.
        12.    Open the 'Notes' app, check that iCloud notes have reverted to how they were before starting the restore.
        13.    Open the 'Mail' app and open the first email you sent yourself and copy the text you want in the note.
        14.    Open the 'Notes' app and create a new note in the iCloud, paste the text you copied.
        15.    Go to iCloud.com on a computer and check that the note has synced to iCloud.
        16.    Repeat steps 12, 13 & 14 until you have recovered all your notes.
May I suggest that you carry out a back up to iTunes before you try anything, that way should things become even worse, you can at least restore back to where you are now.

    Hi Angela,
I suspect it's background overhead used by TM leftover from this disk's TM days. Whatever it is, I don't know that there's a way to access it. To get rid of it, format the disk.

  • Is there anyway to recover my computer's old user ID?

My computer was stolen, but recently returned to me. When I open it, there is a new ID, but my old computer name shows in backlogs (i.e. activity monitor and system information). Is there anyway to recover my old computer stored items?

There is hope! Open iTunes and on the right side browser select the new "Purchased" tab.  There you will be able to enter your apple ID and download your purchased music from the cloud!  Hope this finds your well!

  • HT5395 Is there anyway to recover my iMessage history from my iPhone to my Mac? Thank you!

Is there anyway to recover my iMessage history from my iPhone to my Mac? Thank you!

    HI,
Sorry I should have been clearer.
The only way to move any iMessages from and iPhone to a Mac is at the point when they are using the same Apple ID.
Older items are not included in this "Sync".
Messages on a Mac will read older .ichat files (Saved Chats).
It seems that the iMessages on the iPhone do get stored in any iPhone Backup and that can be used to Restore Messages from one iPhone to another.
People state that there are utilities for extracting the iMessages (either from the current display or the Backups) but I have not read that any will then enable the result to be imported in to Messages.

Is there anyway to change a document's name? Or create a document with a certain name?
I'm looking at the JavaScript reference, and it says that document.name is a readonly value. Is this entirely true / is there any other way to change the name of a document?
Any help would be much appreciated
