Is there anyway to remove apps from the "not on this iphone" section

any help would be appreciated!

No. When iOS 5.0 is officially released we'll see if Apple adds this ability, but I doubt it. Let Apple know your feelings here:

Apple allows apps to list themselves as "Free" if the initial download is free, even if the app has kid-oriented inducements for costly in-app purchases.  The in-app purchases are almost always ridiculous, over-priced game accessories, of which your example of "1400 gems for $49.99" is right up there.  It is way too caveat emptor for my taste, but each consumer can form their own opinion on that.
To Apple's credit, they have a good record of granting refunds providing you explain the extenuating circumstances (purchase by a minor) and only ask once.  Contact iTunes Customer Service.
As roaminggnome notes, you need to place restrictions on the devices.  The restrictions are off by default, so you need to take action to do this.  See this document:  iOS: Understanding Restrictions

    Hey ktillis88,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, the following resource may be helpful:
    iCloud: Understanding Backup alert messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4576
"Backups for appname cannot be turned off at this time."
This message occurs if disabling Backup for an app on your iOS device does not complete successfully. Wait a few minutes and then attempt to disable Backup for the app again. If you continue to receive this alert, contact iCloud Support for assistance.
    Thanks,

Heh, that can become a nuisance. Don't know how many you've accrued in your years of iGadget enjoyment, but I've managed to accumulate nearly 600, all free   So yeah, the list can get lengthy
I'm afraid to count . I don't spend a lot time worry about it, but have on occassion gone in and hidden a few items. A handful of apps I know I never want to see again, plus some free music tracks that didn't pan out and some TV episodes that no longer have any value to me.

PARB changes: Remove targetBufferTime from the metrics provider, this value can't be set in the absence of an understanding of the buffering strategy which is layered on top of NetStreamBufferTrait.  Adjust switching rules to work from the raw buffer data instead of this target.  Remove all bufferTime modifications from the MBR code, so that they won't impact any buffering strategies (addresses FM-436).

Just brought a new Mac Book Pro and wondered how to move my apps from the iPad to this?

iPad apps will not run on a Mac.
iPads use the iOS operating system. Macs use the OS X operating system. Apps for one won't run on the other.
The most that you can do is store the content on your iPad in the content libraries of iTunes for Mac. You can play the music, movies, TV shows, and podcasts from the iPad using iTunes on the Mac. As well as, read iBooks from the iPad in iBooks for Mac.

i can't turn off find my ihone, always show "there was a problem when canceling the registration of this iphone with icloud" please help me. i can't restore my iphone before turn off find my iphone

If you are the original owner of the phone and know the Apple ID and password that were used to activate it originally, and if you have an existing backup to restore from, you can force it into recovery mode (which will completely erase it) and restore it as explained here: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.  When you do you will encounter activation lock, and will have to provide the ID and password used to activate it originally in order to activate it again.  If you can't, you won't be able to activate and use it.

  • Can you remove apps from the icloud?

I want to remove some of my apps from the icloud but I don't know if one can even do this.

You can hide them in your purchase history. You can not delete them. The purchase history is a permanent record of what you've purchased.

  • How do you remove the "purchased" items in the "not on this iPhone" tab in the app store icon?

I want to permanently remove old deleted apps from the "purchased" list in the update section of the app store icon on my iPhone. These are apps that I tried and didn't like or didn't work or were useless or whatever. There does not seem to be any logical reason to keep a record or history of them around since they would not have been deleted if I still wanted them. This is a waste of resources on the iPhone, iTunes and my efforts.

"I want to permanently remove old deleted apps from the "purchased" list in the update section of the app store icon on my iPhone."
    You cannot.
"There does not seem to be any logical reason to keep a record or history of them around since they would not have been deleted if I still wanted them."  it does not need to be logical to you for it to make sense.
It is a history of ALL purchases.
People would be complaining that they mistakenly deleted it and now could never get their app back.  The entire point is to have access to any and all past purchases.
Maybe when the final product is released you will get your wish.

  • How do I remove apps from the "open with" menu in Mountain Lion?

If I right-click a document in Finder, I get a contextual menu offering all of the potential applications with which I might open that document.  My problem is that some of those applications are no longer operational and I want them to be removed from the menu.  How can I do that?

I'm not sure how the order is determined. Clearly, the first level sort is ascending by application name these days (since Lion, I think), but it seems to be random after that. It's not by version, though that would be convenient.
Also, I notice that on my relatively clean Mountain Lion system I sometimes get duplicate entries in the "open with" list that cannot be explained by duplicate copies of the application. On a text file, I get two each of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Equation Editor, Evernote, and Xcode; none of these is duplicated on this system. I get only one entry each for the Notepad stub application, a few Adobe apps, TextWrangler, Safari, Numbers, Pages, and several others.
Where there are duplicated entries, it doesn't seem to matter which one I select; I get the same instance of the program no matter which I select. I take this to mean that one is an alias for the other.
That's my mystery and not necessarily yours. Are your "unhelpful but working stub applications" also duplicates?

  • Is there anyway to remove REMINDERS from Mail 5.0 sidebar?

This is really bugging me.  I have removed flags and have nothing under REMINDERS, yet, it still has Flagged as a subfolder in the sidebar.  What I'd like to do is TOTALLY remove the REMINDERS.  Any ideas on this?  In Snow-Leopard, all you had to do was remove notes and restart and it was gone - no such luck here.
    Thanks!

Yes, at least the following worked for me.
I had a similar situation where flagging one eMail message automatically created the "Reminders" mailbox on the sidebar with a "Flagged" section. Same thing with "Notes". I unflagged, deleted, also did the same thing with the note, and although it was empty (no note and no flagged message), the "Reminders" section along with "Flagged" and "Notes" sub-sections remained. I couldn't get rid of it. I came across the same issue on another discussion here, and someone suggested the following (I am pasting their response):
OK, I've got some good news for you. Go into your Applications folder and find the Mail.app folder. Drag it to the dock where you have your old mail dock. It will not place two mail icons in the dock, but what it will do is when you open up mail from the dock, it will mysteriously remove that annoying Reminders in your mailbox pane to the left.
You may have to open mail using the mail.app folder in your applications folder first before this actually works. All the rest of your mailboxes will be there, the only thing that is removed is the Reminders.
I tried it, and it worked for me. If it works for you, let me know, and I will include the link to the discussion, and the member who suggested it. Keep in mind that the member states the "Mail.app folder", there is no folder, it is just Mail.app.

I get reminders of old CC apps that I don't have installed att my mac.
Old CC programs that I have removed from my mac.
How can I remove the from the CC apps list?

I found the solution in the community
    Solution 1

Windows: Use the Programs And Features Control Panel to remove the program listed as up-to-date.

  • How do you remove apps from the Macbook?

I had downloaded several apps to my macbook pro and tried to delete them from the application folder by dragging to the Trash, but they wont delete.  Please help.

Application has to be not running. Command-Q will quit.  Try right clicking (control-click) on the app in the Aplication folder, and select move to trash.
    See if this works.

  • Removing apps from the cloud

How do I remove apps that are no longer supported from my account in the cloud??

Welcome to the Apple community RAVZB.
The apps are not actually in your iCloud storage, they are links to the apps in the App Store. What you are seeing is your purchase history and as such cannot be deleted.
You can however hide your purchases, which you can do from the QuickLinks > Purchased option from the main page in the iTunes Store on your computer.
