Is there anyway to reset the GPIB driver during program execution?

The issue at hand is that a thread is executing a series of tests which may or may not be making GPIB calls at any given time. The thread may be killed at any time with the function CmtTerminateThreadPoolThread (due to the user pressing the stop button on the GUI). Cooperative thread termination is not an option since a test may cause the thread of execution to lock up the system. The problem is that there may be outstanding GPIB calls at the time that the thread is stopped. These calls time out and generate run-time errors usually via the GPIB function ibrd. The motivation is to completely stop the GPIB driver while the thread is being killed, after which it can be re-initialized. Ideally.

I created a list and added a couple test items to verify that everything was working correctly.
I'm using the ID number (which SharePoint automatically creates for every item in a list), so for example, SharePoint set the first test item to have an ID of "1" and the second to have an ID of "2."
I've deleted the two test items, but ID of next item will be "3."
Is there anyway to reset that counter back to "1" right before I take the list live--even if it's just a one time reset?

You cannot reference the ID of a row for a newly inserted row in the calculated column. The ID does not yet exist when the calculation is performed.

Nope, only by getting the password correct will it reset to 0 attempts.

Father-in-law's Mac II just died. All data is on hard drive. He purchased an Apple desktop today. Is there anyway to have the hard drive removed and information transferred to new Apple?

Some of us still use the older Macs and have plenty of spare parts and accessories. The key is finding a Mac User Group by googling your geographic area to find one of us. We happen to be in Washington State and could help you in a heartbeat.
When someone says that their computer died, the first question to ask is if the hard drive died or a power supply. If the hard drive died without a backup, you have an expensive data recovery process to explore. If the computer died because of some other cause, the hard drive can still be put into an external drive and data copied over to another drive.
Your first task is to find someone who has all the tools. What you are asking is a very simple matter for someone with plenty of older computers on hand. Please give more information about what the computer is doing. Does it still make noise when you turn it on? Does it chime? Does the hard drive click? Is it just the monitor that does not come on? Do you see a flashing ? when you turn on the computer. Every noise means something different.

I have a similar issue. My hard drive crashed, so I had a new one installed and I'm basically starting from scratch on my computer. My iPhone has a lot of my stuff on it (photos and music in particular). When I plugged into iTunes I did a "back up" of my phone to the computer....this transferred the photos in my camera roll, and music purchased through iTunes.
So....I still have a ton of photos (saved in folders, not my camera roll), and music (older stuff not purchased through iTunes) that I want to get to my computer. I am scared to "sync" my phone in iTunes for the first time.....if I do this, will it make my phone match my computer (effectively erasing the stuff on the phone?). What I want is for my computer to match my phone (thus transferring the additional photos and music). Is the third party software the only way?? Does it really work well/is it worth the money? Thanks! I forgot to add, I have debonded and rebonded the bluetooth in car and phone and have carried out 3 restores on the phone in my ITunes. All to no avail. I have also jsut spent £40 on a lead from Ford that has made no difference too! I went to them today to request a software upgrade on my car as I though perhaps the lack of connectivity in the car was down to the car being behind the iOS5 software but was informed there was no need for an upgrade and this problem is purely an apple problem! Is there any way around the downgrade? Or are apple gong to resolve this problem at all??

First, you would need to make a backup of the entire iTunes folder on the PC. You could get music to the iPad if the PC was still functioning, or you would have to move the music to another computer. An iPad is not a laptop, and does not have a port to plug an external drive into. You can sync music to the iPad from the computer, but you are correct, unless you get iTunes Match, you would need a computer to copy the music to and then sync to an iPad.

Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

No way to recover a forgotten passcode. Force the phone into recovery mode & restore as a new device. This will also wipe everything you had put on it
