  • Is there anyway of tracking a I-mac when it has been stolen??

Just been told all my electronics from house has been stolen. Is there anyway of tracking an I-mac if it is connected to Internet?.

Sorry too! We had not-invited visitors last year.
When you get a new iMac, I can recommend a program called Undercover to track and lock stolen iMacs. They also have one called Witness, which is an alarmsystem, based on the  iSight camera. It can be remoted from iPhone too. Go to www.orbicule.com to learn more about it.

  • Is there anyway I can connect my Mac Book Pro wirelessly to my samsung ES8000

Is there anyway I can connect my Mac Book Pro wirelessly to my samsung ES8000?

    IOS?
Do you mean OSX (or is there another device you have yet to mention)?
If it is OSX connect the phone via Bluetooth and use the Browse Device command to access files. I have no idea whether this will work but it won't break anything.

is there anyway to track a mac book pro?

not unless you have a tracking program such as lojack installed on it or you had "find my mac" enabled on your mac.

  • Is there anyway I can remove the MAC formatting from my hard drive so I can view it on a PC?

I bought an external hard drive for all of my pictures and videos. While it was plugged into my computer, I was asked if I wanted to use this hard drive for Time Machine (To back-up my stuff). I said yes. Now, I am not able to share any of the photos and videos I have on there unless I bring my laptop with, or remove them and put them on a flash drive, then take the flash drive. Is there anyway to fix this without removing everything off of my hard drive or buying a new one? I am even considering either using a flash drive to back up, or not backing up at all. Thanks!

Are you sure all those files that were on that drive are still on that drive. Any time you format a drive, especially when you change the format, everything is erased from the drive.
to answer your question, No there isn't a way to remove the Mac fomatting and retain files on the drive. you would need to copy all of them to some other drive first then reformat the drive.

  • Is there anyway i could update my mac to the OS X Mountain Lion at the Apple store?

I'm trying to update my Mac Book Pro to the OS X Mountain Lion but im having a hard time doing so.  I keep trying at my school because that is where i get the best wi-fi at.  I can usually get to about 2.1 gigs before i have to leave for the day.  When i get home and have my mac on standby and try to bring it back the next day, sometimes i have to completely start over.
My main question is that i was wondering if there was a way i could bring my mac book to the apple store and they could update it for me since i have already purchased the update.

It'll have to wait till after my classes this afternoon.  I get out 1:45 so they should still be open by then

  • Are there anyway to actually buyout a mac pro case?

I'm looking for a mac pro desktop case, because i've broken mine (i dropped it) and im looking for just a case for mac pro (2010 with SL 10.6)? Or if someone have a used one that i can buy?

Lots of sellers of this sort of stuff on eBay.
There, the "major components" become what is easy to dis-assemble without much effort. Guys buy up dead ones and break them up for parts.

  • Is there anyway of speeding up unlock process

can you tell me if its possible to speed up unlocking process. i`ve contacted vodafone and they have sent request.

No. It takes them as long as it takes them. They will send you an SMS when it's ready to plug into iTunes to complete the process.

  • Is there anyway to speed up encoding/burn process?

It's been 3 hours and only 13% encoded.
A thuderstorm is moving in and I may have to quit.

To give you an idea, I will share a little story:
I was handed a Project, where the client said that the WMV's were the ONLY available source files (not too different from the DivX one, on the machine now). I begged for the originals, and pointed out that the WMV's were heavily compressed, and if we could ONLY go to the originals, all would be much, much better. The client did not want to look around his company, so I was instructed to use the WMV's. In a fit of pique, I just Imported the 4 WMV's, added the Titles, did some simple cuts, and then Exported. This was on my workstation, which is still very fast. It was taking forever. After about an hour into the Export, I loaded up the WMV's onto the laptop, converted them to DV-AVI Type II's, Imported them into a New Project, did the same Titles, the same cuts and then Exported. The one on the laptop, though started much later, and that had the time to convert, finished 3 hours ahead of the WMV's on the workstation. I learned to not break my own rules of "Always Convert," and ended up with a bit of a benchmark.
Whether there will be THAT big a difference with your DivX files, I cannot say. Also, I was Exporting to DV-AVI, so that would be quicker, than MPEG-2, the format/CODEC needed for DVD. Still, there was about a 5 hour difference, considering all that had to be redone in the second version.
Good luck, and hope that the story did not bore you to tears...

PS - I was also using PrPro on the workstation, and had to use PrE on the laptop, so as to not violate the EULA of having two instances of PrPro runnng at the same time. PrPro is a tad faster, than PrE, but they are very close.

Hello dayra. Just plug in your phone then go iTunes "File" -> "Transfer Purchases". If it doesn't work, you can use an iphone to Mac transfer program to help.I personally use this iPhone to Computer Transfer for Mac.It helps me to transfer my music, video, photo, ePub, pdf, Audiobook, Voice memos, Camera roll, ringtone, Podcast, TV Show, SMS, Contact and Call List from iphone to my Mac directly and safely. It works well for me,you can give it a try.
    Hope it helps.

  • Anyway to speed up using a P2P program?

When using a P2P program, the download speeds are incredibly slow.
When downloading files off my browser, I can get around 130 kbs. When using P2P, I'm lucky to get 20 kbs. Is there anyway to speed this up? I'm using a WRT54G router.

What router and version is it?
    What P2P do you use?
It also depends how many peers you're connected to.... I range anywhere from 5kbs to 500kbs.  I assume you have forwarded the correct port?  Did you set a speed limit in the P2P program setup?

  • Is there a way that iTunes can act as a Radio Alarm Clock? I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on and start playing that Radio Station from Sleep mode at spec

Is there a way that iTunes can act as a Radio Alarm Clock?
I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on from Sleep mode and start playing that Radio Station at specific times of the day?
Any App or plug-in that does that?
    Many thanks
    Kevin

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
    1.  In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
    2.  Export the playlist (as .m3u works well).  Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
    3.  In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
    4.  Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
    5.  For "alarm" select Open File.
    6.  Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open.  It will probably be some default entry (like iCal).  Click on it will allow you to select "other."  Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time.  You don't need to keep iCal running.  If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do.  Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button.  Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

Is this a problem with the computer or with the word processor? MS Word for example seems to think its grammar and spelling are better than mine - they are not. You have to go into MS Word preferences and uncheck all the useless "help" it wants to provide.

  • I have a iPad were I have opened I tunes match ect linked to my pc I have since found my old ipod classic which I have loads of music on but that was all linked to a mac which I don't have anymore, is there anyway I can sync them both

I have a iPad were I have opened I tunes match ect linked to my pc I have since found my old ipod classic which I have loads of music on but that was all linked to a mac which I don't have anymore, is there anyway I can sync them both without loosing my music, if I plug my ipod into PC it won't read it

You need to transfer the music from your iPod on to your iTunes library on your PC, since that is where you are currently syncing and where you are signed into iTunes Match.  It doesn't matter that you were previously syncing it with a Mac, and you won't need to reinstall iTunes on your PC.  But you will have to use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer any music not purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library.  Here's another guide on this, which is shoter and you may find easier to follow: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.  Also, if you're using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar.  This will make it easier to follow along with these guides.
