Is there anywhere I can go to download Acrobat 9 Standard? I see Professional in the Adobe website but not Standard.

i did not mention though that i recently bought iLife 9 to create a DVD.
Due to my source material / postings i found on discussion groups
it became clear that i should use iMovie 6
(provided for free up until early '09 ...
initially meant to respond to enquiries of iLife 8 users that missed
compression settings that were not provided for any versions released after iLife 6).

There is nowhere that you can download it from. You need your Mac OS X install disk. If you can't find it, you'll need to replace it. Then you can install Mail from that disk.

There was never a version of iTunes 10 that would run under Mac OS X 10.4. iTunes 9.2.1 was the last version 10.4 would run. You can probably run Mac OS X 10.5 on your Mac, though. 10.5 doesn't require an Intel processor, and would allow you to run iTunes 10. System requirements here:

Apple no longer sells 10.5 officially, so you'll need to look to private sellers. Make sure you get a retail (black label) copy, not the system disk from another model of Mac (grey label).

No, there are no 3rd party addons available. However, on most themes there's a background menu button in the lower toolbar where you can choose a different color or add your own photo. That leaves the door open to create your own page background with any texture and color you'd like. Or even an wallpaper type of background, i.e. a reoccurring pattern throughout.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

i just got a SB Audigy 2ZS card, as a gift but it didn't have the disk with it. I went and d/led all the drivers and applications and all.
But i really need the EAX Console to check to see if all my speakers work or what not, set it up for headset or 5. when i play games and all. I REALLY NEED IT, is there anywhere i can get this from?
any help is very much appreciated

First determine what system you really have.
Apple menu -> About This Mac.
If it is 10.7, you don't need installer discs, because there is a recovery partition:

If they determine the machine is older than 10.6's initial release (August 28, 2009), you'll want to purchase 10.6 retail, and/or 10.7 retail from the Apple Store.

When I try to download Acrobat Standard DC all I get is a list of countries and no way to select and start the download.. What am I doing wrong??

Please note that Adobe does not provide the download link of Acrobat Standard DC for MAC OS.
For Windows OS, you might navigate to the link mentioned below:
Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X
Select Acrobat Standard DC and a list of countries along with the installer file for Windows will open (as shown below):
Click on that file link and it will start downloading the software on your machine.
Once downloaded, you can locate that executable file under Downloads folder and run it to install Acrobat Stnd. DC with ease.

Need your help again please. Done the install "eventually" now trying to register the product with the product name and the serial number for the product. However in the drop down box there is no option of the Adobe Acrobat Professional XI - Upgrade
the error message coming back to me is "the serial number is not a for qualifying product . Please try another.

I am getting an error when I download Acrobat Standard XI, it asks for a related product serial number. If I enter the serial number from the online purchase it states it is not valid with the product selected, in the product drop down there is no Acrobat Standard XI.........

it sounds like you downloaded an upgrade which is prompting you for the serial number of the qualifying product.
