Is there apple support chat available after business hours
I need to reset my security questions for iTunes because I forgot the answers and it is after business hours do I have to wait until morning
to get help?
many thanks.
Downloading goes through the installation process, but then stalls with the message that "Apple Application Support" is missing.
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Safari fails to start and Apple support chat not answering..
Safari now repeatedly fails to start following an update to 8.0.2
Rebooted machine (iMac - mid 2010, 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 on Yosemite), fixed disk permissions etc etc. but no joy.
Went on Apple Support Chat today - but seems they've taken an early holiday - no response whatsoever.
Everything else works fine.
Anyone any ideas?
I get the following:

You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked. -

How can I get a log of conversation with Apple Support Chat ? Case ID: 52****250
<Edited By Host>The only way I know of is to copy the entire content of your chat window (while it is still active) and then paste it into a text document (or, if it is short enough to fit the window without scrolling, take a screenshot). Once you terminate the chat, the record is gone (as far as I know).

Shut down WLAN after business hours
Hello,
We have recently deployed a vWLAN controller (AIR-CTVM-K9) and AIR-CAP2602I-A-K9 access points at all our sites. Since we are a retail operation I want to make the WLAN unavailable after business hours. The Cisco sales promo material mentions this as a capability but I can't find any supporting documentation.
How would I set this up?There are several methods to achieve this and this depends on how your network is setup and how much technical skills you have:
1. MS AD: You can specify time and dates when authentication happens;
2. Cisco EnergyWise: You can specify what time of day(s) to enable the Cisco switch to provide PoE to the AP. When specified, the switch will disable power to the port.
3. You can enable time-based ACL to disable the dynamic interface of your AP. Your AP will still be able to broadcast the SSID but it will NOT accept any clients (or the clients will get 169.X.X.X IP addresses).
Finally,
4. If you have WCS/NCS or Prime Infrastructure, you can specify the time and date when the radio of the APs go up or down. -
Ports to shutdown after business hours
what i am trying to accomplish here is to configure half a dozen ports on a 3550 cisco switch to automatically shut down after business hours. I would also like the port to automatically enable 5 minutes before business open. i cant find anything in cisco that would allow me to do this. please help or point me to a direction.
Hello,
have a look at the following documents:

Restrict data to after Business hours only...
hi all,
I am trying to ascertain how many services calls are logged to a particular workgroup made after business hours i.e. after 6.00 pm(18:00hrs) and before 7am (07:00hrs), each day for past 2 months.
so how do i restrict the data only between these times.
i am confused as 7.00am fall on the next day early morning.??? thus data is restricted to from 6 in evening to 7:00 hrs next day in morning.

How do I review a conversation that I had with Apple Support Chat?
Hello. Today I used Apple's Support Chat to clear up some confusion that I had. The staff member I chatted with was extremely helpful and walked me through the steps needed to address my problem. After the chat ended, I was directed to a survey of my experience (which I filled out). I was told that I would be sent a transcript of the chat, but have not yet received one. How long does this usually take?
The staff member provided useful links in the chat, and I was hoping to review it so that I can follow the links to the products I need. Is there a way to look up old chats or request a transcript? I have the case serial number, but when I look it up it does not display the conversation that I had. I thought that after I filled out the survey that it would bring me back to the conversation to look over, but it did not. I created a Support Profile hoping to find the transcript but had no luck. Now I am not sure what to do because I cannot recall all of the steps that were suggested.
Please help! Thank you in advance.
Jocelyn.Hello K Shaffer,
Thank you for posting a reply. I followed your advice and began a new chat with Apple Support, even though it was a bit time consuming. The staff member I spoke with was able to review my old chat and gave me the information I needed from it. She also e-mailed me the transcript of our chat, which the first person I talked to did not do. She said that one can request previous chat transcripts by going here,
http://www.apple.com/privacy/contact/
selecting "privacy issues," and filling out the form. It would probably be faster to chat online with Apple Support like I did, but this is just another way to receive a transcript if you were not e-mailed one or accidentally deleted it.
Thank you for your help!

I just bought a new 27" iMac and got the extended AppleCare 3 year support with it. Am I supposed to get some sort of certificate or card or receipt with this on it?
Also, I have an issue and need to contact Apple Support. When I go there and enter in my serial, the only options are to have them call me back, or to bring in to a store. There is no "online chat" option which was there before. Does it disappear after certain times?
(issue is that my wifi connection, while still connected, doesnt work after I haven't used my iMac for a few hours, it shows connected but no throughput, I have to turn wifi off then on again. I get a great strong fast signal otherwise).FWIW, if the input of your serial only results in above options, it appears that your machine (and the Applecare) are not registered. Did you buy it directly from Apple? If not, it is usually not automatically registered.
You usually get a confirmation from the Applecare folks. Go to this page and see if your serial number/machine is listed (as well as the applecare); if not, do so. If the Applecare is not listed, you do need to register it to become effective - enter the very long number inside the little booklet (inside the box).

Is apple support chat video call or just normal chat?
need to get my computer looked at but dont want to be on video chat haha
An older Mac without a camera can be used to Chat with Apple Support;
however you may have to experiment to find out for yourself. As a test
you could put tape over the camera just for this purpose...!
After all, if you have a real world problem, you may have to dust
off an old Mac, to contact support Chat about a newer model.
A joke, there; you could describe the issues and maybe someone here
could suggest things to try. Is the computer under an AppleCare plan?
Good luck & happy computing! -
How can i contact an apple support by chat? i got a serious situation here.. that i mentioned in this post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6031255
The only time I have ever come across a chat facility for Apple is in the online store when deciding on a purchase but I don't expect that the apple people who chat there would give technical advice. I think the best option is to call the appropriate number in the link that was given to you previously. Good luck.

How to use Apple Support Chat on iphone 5s
So I have an iPhone 5s. I went under apple support to try and get help with getting iMessage to work (it's activated but not working) and I chose the Live Chat option. They were able to initiate contact with me and send me a message, but I was unable to respond. I could type out my message, but there wasn't an option to actually send the message! I tried everything on the screen, but the person trying to help me wasn't receiving any of my messages. Does anyone know how to send your messages for chatting with a member of the Apple Support team?
You can't. It's limited to exactly 100 calls.

How to get apple support chat with no serial number
Hi all,
iPhone 5S touchscreen has mostly packed up and I cannot unlock so I wanted to try Apple CHat to see if there was an easy fix. Well of course the Apple Chat needs a serial number to start which is bloody helpful when the only way to get the iphone 5S serial number is to go into settings. Is there another way to get chat support without my S/N? I don't really want to make the hike to the store in case it is a simple fix.
Thanks
PTIf the phone will connect to iTunes you can see the serial number. If it won't connect but you have ever backed up using iTunes you can also see it. Details on how are in the "Get the information from your computer" section of iOS: How to find the serial number, IMEI, MEID, CDN, and ICCID number

I also tried to see if I could buy memory but find thatI cant even do that with this relic?
Those models will support:
Maximum Memory
6.0 GB (Actual) 4.0 GB (Apple)
Memory Slots
2 - 200-pin PC2-6400 (800MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM
They should be upgradeable to Mavericks as well as Mountain Lion.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion to Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
Model Identifier 5,1 or later
3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
Lion System Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
or Xeon processor
2. 2GB of memory
3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
4. 7GB of available space
5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply. -
Has the apple support chat been working?
I've been trying to use it twice now but it just keeps on saying "estimating wait time" and never gives me an actual wait time.... is there something wrong with it?
If you are referring to the non-panorama , but rather the flat look, well that's what they did.

Simple question for Apple Support, iTunes fails after immediate error message.
I am currently in a situation that after starting up iTunes (on Windows), immediately a pop-up error message tells me " Nieuwe iTunes-bibliotheek", i.e. "New iTunes Library"
After this message nothing happens anymore. Any help will be appreciated.I don't know if any of this will help, but the first thing I'd suggest is to get a good antispyware checker and give it a go at your system. Some recent spyware has been reported by other users to shut down iTunes or prevents it from launching. From user reports, Ewido seems to be the best at catching it. You can download a free version of Ewido here.
If that doesn't cure the problem, try deleting the iTunes preference files:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
and
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Data\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find them. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.) Delete them. This will force iTunes to run the setup assistance the next time you run it and you'll have to go back and set any preferences you've changed from the default.
Hope this helps.
