Is there away to save the pictures on Camera Roll into an Album?

How do I move the Pictures from Camera Roll to a designated album?

Import the photos with your computer as with any other digital camera. Organize the photos into albums or folders on your computer as with other photos on your computer followed by transferring the albums or folders to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process.

  • Why can I not put a picture from camera roll into an album?

Why can I not put a picture from my camera roll into an album now? When I try these are greyed out. I created these albums on my ipad too but ever since I updated to IOS 7 this can't be done, it was so easy before.

I can now answer my own question as I've worked it out. For those who are interested click on Shared Streams then on album you require photo to be in then click on the empty box with a cross in the centre and choose photo you wish to add.

  • How can I put selected pictures from camera roll into a seperate album removing them completly from camera roll??

Im gunna be straight up honest here.. I have some rude pictures of my girlfriend on my iphone which I would like to keep for my own personal viewing but obviously dont want family and friends seeing when they are flicking threw my camera album which often happens. I had intended to make a private album put them all in there and put a passcode on the album. With all of apples features I would of thought this would be a standard thing you could do, however when I made the private album the pictures were still in my camera roll and if I try to delete them I am told the pictures will be removed completly from my phone.. This is stupid. What is the point in being able to make albums if the pictures are going to still all be in the camera roll!? Does anybody know of a way I can move pictures from camera roll to a private album?? Any help would be much appreciated.

Photos placed in a user created album or in an existing album are not copied/duplicated. The photos placed in an album include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Camera Roll. Having an album for select photos is for viewing the select photos only without having to see all photos in the Camera Roll.
The same applies to albums transferred from your computer. All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the Photo Library. Photos on the albums below include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. The photos appear as they are duplicated when they are not. This way you can view the photos in an album only by selecting the album, or all photos on the Photo Library or Camera Roll by selecting it.

  • Add picture from camera roll to existing album?

I have created albums and want to add more pictures from camera roll.  How to do that?

If you want to add them to albums that you've created directly on the iPad then go into the album that you want to add the photos to, tap the icon at the top right of the screen that looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it, and you should then get an option next to that icon to 'Add Photos'.
If you want to add photos to albums that you synced from your computer then you'll need to copy the photos to your computer, add them to the folders that the albums came from, and then re-sync

  • How to move picture from camera roll to existing album

would like to organise photo albums but am struggling to move from camera roll to existing album without using laptop

Choose Select at the upper right, select some photos, choose "Add To" at the upper left, and then select the album you wish to move the photos to.
Note that you can only move photos to albums that you created on the iPad. Also note that the photo will remain in the Camera Roll, only a pointer to the photo is moved to the album.

  • Deleting the pictures my camera roll to iCloud Photo Library beta?

What if I delete several pictures from my camera roll then will it automatic to delete from iCloud Photo Library beta?

Yes according to the quote below from iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ - Apple Support
Deleting a photo or video from your Photos app will also remove the item from iCloud Photo Library and from your iCloud storage allocation. Photos and videos you remove can be recovered from the Recently Deleted album for 30 days. After 30 days, your content will be removed from the Recently Deleted album. Photos are backed up on our servers for up to 30 days after they're deleted from the Photos app.
If you are wanting to keep the photo but reduce storage space used on the phone, the following quote from the same source may help:
How does iCloud Photo Library save space on my device?
If you turn on Optimize [device] Storage, iCloud Photo Library will automatically manage the size of your library on your iOS device, so you can make the most of your device's storage and access more photos than ever. iCloud Photo Library stores the original, high-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and can keep lightweight, device-optimized versions on each of your devices. As long as you have enough storage, recent photos and videos that you access the most will stay on your device at full resolution.
You can turn on Optimize [device] Storage from Settings > iCloud > Photos or Settings > Photos & Camera > iCloud Photo Library on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You need an Internet connection to access an original photo or video that’s stored only in iCloud.

  • How to I delete pictures from camera roll but not album on ipad

I am trying to delete pictures from my camera roll without having to delete them pictures from the album..  The reason for this is I have organised my pictures into albums on iPad and therefore would like to delete from camera roll however when I attempt to do this it says it will delete from album as well. Is there any way round this. Thanks.

No there isn't. The original photo is being stored in the camera roll and the copy of the photo is in the album. If you remove the photo from the camera roll, you will delete it from any albums that it might be in as well.
With the benefit of an edit - my comments are with regard to trying to this on the device itself.

  • Transfering pictures in camera roll to Dropbox

How do I transfer pictures in camera roll into Dropbox

You need to use the DropBox app on the iPad.
Launch DropBox and then tap the DropBox logo in the lower left corner. Tap the folder that you want to upload to. Then tap the + sign in the upper left corner of the screen. Tap Upload Here, a window will popup with your photos in it. Tap the camera roll album. Tap on the photos that you want to upload and then tap Upload at the top of the window.

  • Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files?

Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files? I just want to view / delete files without importing them.
For instance I have 1200 photos on my iPhone Camera Roll. Some of these are shots, that I've taken multiple times, some good, some bad. I just want to clean up my Camera Roll, but going through the pictures on the iPhone's small screen is tedious. I'd much rather look at the camera roll's photo's on my Mac, and then decide which files I'd like to keep, and which to delete.
I don't want to import the files, as when I import the files, and delete them from Camera Roll, now the Photo's are not on my phone, and the only way to get them back on my Phone is to Import them back in using iTunes, and then they go into the Picture Library and not the Camera Roll.
In the same way as I can view Pics from my digital camera's SD card on a Mac without having to actually copy them to my computer, is there any app out there that will let me view my iPhone pics without importing them.

    The short answer is yes.
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
    Open Image Capture application.
Click on the 4 little squares at bottom to view them as photos, not a list.
Select the photos them click the No Entry icon at bottom to delete.

Does it show up in your camera roll?

  • I have an iPhone4s and I'm trying to download a short video from my email that I made in windows movie maker to my camera roll. It's 15 seconds. I've tried the wmv format and also the mp4 format. There is no option to save it to my camera roll.

Once I email the video to myself and open it on my phone, there is no option to save it to my camera roll. I've tried holding the link (which gives me the options: open, add to reading list, or copy), changing the format from wmv to mp4, tapping on the arrow in the top right (options: reply, forward), opening the video then tapping arrow (open page in safari?), and selling my soul to the devil. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks.

Problem solved. It wasn't working in gmail so I used the default mail app and it worked..after hours of searching for a phantom solution.

  • Is there a fix for the lousy (grainy) camera pictures on the 4s after iOS7?

Is there a fix for the lousy (grainy) camera pictures on the 4s after iOS7?

Rudegar, thanks for responding. The camera (front and rear facing) were both fine in poor lighting prior to the iOS7 upgrade. Now, the pictures in poor lighting are very grainy. I am wondering if this is because the new OS was designed for retina display and maynot be backward compatible for iPhone 4S.

  • Software update failed how do I save the pictures that are on the phone?

software update failed how do I save the pictures that are on the phone?

You should have imported all pics taken with your iphone to your computer regularly as with any digital camera.
Did you fail to do this?
You would need to import them if you can.

  • Is there a way to move the pictures completely from the camera roll to an album so the pic is not in two places?

I was wondering if there was a way to move pics completely from camera roll to another album thus emptying the camera roll that way you know what pics you still need to put in albums.

Unfortunately I don't think there's anything you can do to alter the Dock's behavior. I suppose you could disable the Dock and use a third-party replacement - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

  • HT4847 Is there a way to only sync your camera roll (new pictures) to iCloud or is it an all or nothing type thing?

I'm wondering if there is anyway to change your backup settings through iCloud to only sync the camera roll as opposed to all of the other folders as well. Considering your new pictures automatically save in your camera roll, it would make sense to be able to just save the new pictures one would think. I'm pretty sure it's not possible, but I was hoping that I may be overlooking something. Thanks in advance

Photo stream only adds new photos by design.  It also only adds photos from the camera roll, not any albums (folders)*.  Photos added to the camera roll are automatically added to photo stream, once enabled.  The remain in photo stream for 30 days.  After 30 days they are deleted from photo stream, but will remain in your My Photo Stream folder until deleted.
*Any album that includes photos from your camera roll only contains links to the photos in the camera roll, not duplicate photos.  Photo stream doesn't add these "photos" because the actual photos they link to are in the camera roll.
