Is there compatible motion driver for LabVIEW 8.6?

Is there compatible motion driver for LabVIEW 8.6? The latest motion driver seems to be 7.6 and it only support up to LabVIEW 8.5...

If you buy LabVIEW 8.6, you will also get 2008 August Driver CD.
NI-Motion 7.7 driver should be included in it.
Or you can wait for a while.
I guess NI will put on Web these days.

I am looking for a hp8156a driver for labview. There is not one posted in the driver section of this site. Thanks

Here is a link to the programming manual. Section 8 shows the commands. It will take some work, but you can write your own drivers.

  • Aeroflex 2975 driver for LabVIEW 8.0

Is there a way to convert the Aeroflex IFR 2975 driver for LabVIEW CVI for use in LabVIEW 8.0?  OR, is there a driver already developed for this?

    Frank,
I am using the LV 7.1.1 version of this CVI driver in an application I wrote. We should be able to recompile this for 8.0. Basically as I explained with no handshaking the instrument falls out of sync with the controlling computer. Basically the only GPIB command that is supported in that driver is *IDN?. So what I have done is after other  calls I use this command and compare the return string to see if it is what I expected. If not I use a popup telling the operator that a GPIB error occurred and to reboot the IFR to clear the bus. I also have instructed the operator to run NI Spy in the background...this seems to cut down the occurance of these errors. Another way to clear the bus that is faster and usually works is to stop the application, and read the bus using MAX until you see a timeout when there is no more data available( usually twice). Then rerun the application. Depending on the application this might be a work around though not an elegant one.
Since the driver was converted from a CVI driver it uses the call library function node. This does not allow us to control the timing between the Write functions and Read functions. If you are doing something that is relatively simple you could use the TCL command set and VISA to write a driver. Just put a wait function between the Write and Read function and experiment with the timing until it looks like it won't fail. I've considered doing this myself but have been hoping that they will actually make the instrument 488.2 compliant. I am assuming that the actual error is that the data buffer is being read by the controller before the instrument is finished writing to it. The other scenario is that the data buffer might not actually be getting flushed every time it is read. I'm hoping my first assumption is correct or they have even more problems with the instrument.
In January of '05' they actually enabled the following commands *SRE xx, *SRE? and *STB?. I recently wrote a simple vi to see what happens to the Status Byte after using IDN? command and reading the data buffer. The MAV bit begins logic low, then goes hi when the data is available. After reading the data (i.e. "IFR Systems, 2975.....) I again query the Status Byte. The MAV bit is still in a logic hi state. I sent screenshots of the front panel and block diagram as well as the .spy files to them. All was heavily notated and they said they were going to look at it. If anyone is interested in this I can post this code as well.

  • Need a HP3421A native driver for labview 5.1

    Hi,
I'm looking for a native HP3421A driver for labview 5.1. Of course I searched in the "Instrument Driver Network" but I foundd only drivers for labview 6.0 and 7.0 or greater.
According to this document: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/321691a.pdf#search=%22labview%204.x%20hp3421a%22 there is a such driver for labview 4.x.
Any idea where I could find this driver for labview 5.1 ? A haven't any "Instrument Driver Library CD-ROM".

    hi there
the driver he is searching for can be found here (LV 7.0): https://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E969E659CE034080020E74...
the driver uses the old school GBIP functions, so it should be possible to downgrade it down to LV 5.1. do downgrade open the "HP 3421A Example.vi" and choose
    File->Save with options->Save for previous.
since you only can downgrade to the next prior version of LV you need a ladder of LV versions, but i'm sure that if you ask here you'll find someone who can do this for you.

  • Driver for LabVIEW camera JVC TK-S241E

Hello,my name is Miguel Morales, as a part of my research investigation I need to adquire images from a JVC camera model TK-S241E (analogic). I would like to know if there's any driver for this camera for the LabVIEW products , or how I can manage to use this camera with the LabVIEW software

    Hello Miguel,
The camera you specified is not tested and therefore not supported by National Instruments, in other words it does not exists a necessary camera file, and the camera has not been tested with any of our frame grabber boards.
If the camera you wanted use was either a digital parallel camera or a camera link camera you would have the opportunity to produce the camera file yourself with out NI Camera File Generator.
What kind of frame grabber board do you have today?

  • I can't connect my canon mp160 to my new apple iMac desktop. It just won't print although it comes up as the printer. there is no driver for this from canon who states that I probably don't need a driver for this

I can't connect my canon xp160 to my new IMAC. It does recognize it but won't print. there is no driver for this as per Canon and they state that I may not need one. thanks!1

If you want to print, then you will need a printer driver. There is no printer driver available from Apple for the MP160. And the last driver that Canon released for this model was for OS X 10.7. You may be able to install this 10.7 driver, although it is not digitally signed so Gatekeeper will block the installation. To get past Gatekeeper, you can hold down the Control key and click on the installer. A pop-up menu will appear. Select Open. You will then be given the option to install the old driver.
With the driver installed, add the printer via Printers & Scanners and see if you can print.

  • Is there a IVI driver for Racal Instruments 1256 switching system ?

Is there any IVISwitch driver for the RI1256 switching system somewhere ? Is NI working on it since RacalInstruments doesn't seems to be interrested in this matter ?

    Hi,
I am not sure how similar the 1260 series is, but we do have IVI drivers for it at www.ni.com/idnet. You may be able to get away with using this driver for your instrument if it is basically the same thing with fewer features.
If not, I would like you to submit a request for this driver at: http://zone.ni.com/idnet97.nsf/instrumentdriverrequest/ and with the instrument manufacturer. We develop drivers based on demand and popularity so the more requests we have for it, the greater the possibility that we will develop one.
If you would like to try developing your own driver, we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :
    http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm
We also have a syndicate of third party ven
dors that specialize in National Instruments' products and services. Some of the vendors specialize in driver development. I would suggest contacting one of the Alliance members at:
    http://www.ni.com/alliance
An instrument driver is a collection of functions that implement the commands necessary to perform the instruments operations. In short, someone read the instrument user manual and implemented some of the functionality in a program for the end user. Instrument drivers are not necessary to use your instrument.
    Hope this helps out!
Let me know if there is anythign else I can do for you.

esides Maya, is there another Motion Software for Autocad2015

Are we just going to be left in the Wilderness until some PC Software Program decides that there is a market for Mac's... Until recently Autocad decided to start supporting Mac Users but not to the extend they support the Virus Plagued Breaking Down PC/Window Crowd... Is this going to be an unsolvable Problem until there are no more PC's left... That will be awhile...

    Reidl,
Thank you for your answer.  How do I uninstall my current version?  I have looked in "Add or Remove Programs," but I don't see anything under "Xilinx" or "Spartan."  I do see an entry for "National Instruments Software."  However, when I click "Change / Remove" I don't see any entries for the Spartan Board.
I tried running the installation program, and I received the following message:
The NI LabVIEW FPGA Support for Spartan-3E 1.1.0 installation has failed with the following error.
You have a higher version of NI LabVIEW FPGA Support for Spartan-3E in your system.  You must uninstall it before installing this again.
What is the latest version number?  How do I check what version I currently have?
    Thanks,

  • Looking for HP 5371A driver for Labview 6.1?

want to communicate with HP5371A by PC over GPIB port

I think that device is too old for finding a driver for labview. If you have all the GPIB command, it's easy to program. I made it for another type of instrument.

  • Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 so I can share

Is there a flash drive for the iPhone 5 that I can plug into my phone, copy all of the hundreds of photos and videos I've taken of my baby nephew using the iPhone camera to, and then pull out so I can just give the drive to my sister? Downloading/transferring all those photos and videos to my computer, then emailing or sorting and burning them to a disc would take FOREVER. The photos and videos of the baby are all mixed in with my personal photos and videos I've taken and sorting them out would be a nightmare. Plus, I want the original photos and videos to remain on my camera even after I copy them for my sister. Any help/ideas would be most appreciated!

    Hi Allan,
    Thank you for responding.
One clarification: I agree that the iPhone is not for long-term photo storage and I'm not looking to use it that way. What I'm looking for is a quick and easy way for me to get the photos/videos of my nephew to my sister so SHE can store them long-term. (Then I can delete all but a few of them and transfer them to my computer for storage pretty quickly and easily). The way I know to get all those photos/videos to her would take a very long time (which I don't have) and would require a lot of time sorting (which I don't have time to do either). Please don't suggest I pare down the photos and videos for her. This baby is a miracle baby and the Mom needs to get all the photos and videos. Understand where I'm coming from?
Regarding not keeping any favorite photos/videos on an iPhone: It seems normal to have some favorite photos and videos remain on an iPhone, kind of like a "Grandma's brag book" of most beloved photos. Even the most no-nonsense person might have 20-30 photos of someone or something they love, so they can share them with interested people or peruse them when they want to feel connected or be grounded.
I can't be the only person dealing with this issue/needing this type of hardware. Opportunities and need for photo sharing abound. If nothing else, it seems like an easy way for Apple to make a whole lot of extra money while making a whole lot of consumers very, very happy.
Any advice? Again, thanks very much.

  • Is there an Android driver for DeskJet e3520

I have a Samsung Tablet that I would like to print to an HP DeskJet e3520 printer.  It appears that there is no driver for such an application, despite the fact that HP has an Android Tablet.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Hello, and Welcome to the HP Support Community!
There are no printer "drivers" to be installed per se on Android devices.  They need an app that can transfer the file, usually wirelessly to a similarly capable printer.
HP offers the ePrint program (free in the Play Store).  Since your printer is ePrint-capable you can print two ways:
    1. Register the printer with HPconnected.com, and receive the email address you created for it.  Now you can email files as attachments to the printer (if you have it connected to your Wifi network at home!)
    2. Using the built-in "share" function in Adroid, you can "share" a file and direct it to ePrint.
Note:  The ePrint app must be activated first, with a code you request from HP.  Open the app to activate it.
Note2:  The built-in "Print" function in Samsung tablets will only work if you have a wifi-enabled Samsung printer.  This is the way Samsung designed it.
I'm going to move this post to the ePrint section where printing from Samsung tablets has been discussed many times.
