Is there configuration to have message for users when a spec object is already open for edit?

We are on v6111 and appreciate the warning message that tells the second user when two users have editted the same spec object and changes of the first have already been saved. What we are coming up against is users who want to know that someone else has already opened the spec object for edit. Is there a configation for this? Users don't like being informed after they enter data that someone else already saved a different edit ... they would like the warning before they do the actual work because it feels like a wasted effort ... If warned up front, they can come back and do the data entry later. We are trying to find the appropriate configuration option to put the warning message in the appropiate UX process/timing. Thank you!

I thought it was because of Lion but with snow leopard i have the same problem (On another Mac).

To check the local network for some of the common configuration problems, launch Terminal.app and issue the following diagnostic command:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
That'll report some local configuration information and then either no errors detected and no changes required, or it'll point to whatever configuration errors or issues it might detect. That doesn't catch everything, but it catches the common errors.
FWIW, 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are poor choices for the local network, as VPNs are based on IP routing and IP routing gets tangled when the same subnet is used on both ends of the VPN. 192.168.0.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 are near ubiquitous in home networks and coffee shops.

I too am having the same issue only I am in Regina, Canada. iCloud appears to think Regina, Canada is in the Central time zone which it is, but it does not use Daylight Savings time. My PC is Windows 7 and I am using Outlook 2010. I have iCloud on iPhone 5 and iPad 2. Terribly frustrating!

I have done an epub.
I have used ITunes Producer and follow the process.
I have not seen that ther's not a line for to propose the price.
At the end a had a window which says that my ebook will be proposed for free.
So I have somme questions :
- is there a person in the staff of Apple France who can help me, ans with a phone numbner ?
- is it possible to specify a price ?
- or do i must delete my ebook, and where ?
- where and how can i do ?
On the website the first pages are in french but after it's in english, so it's very complicate for me.

I did'nt rememeber that.
In fact now i need a paid account.

The security system requires that directories (of what type I don't know) be downloaded to the local client. Previously, we just copied the existing default localhost, changing the IP from 127..*. to the IP of the server given us by the security company, and gave that IP a name like c0000013***.&^%.local. Finally, we set this as type: server. Apparently, the security system downloads data to the localhost, interprets it, then gives us a security signon. To further complicate matters, the company that wrote the software has just been bought and the new guys don't seem to have a clue what they've gotten themselves into.
If is just substitute the IP and server name, i.e. 100.100.100.100/c0000013***.&^%.local in the browser, the page times out because the page contains a crossdomain.xml call to the authorization data that's already supposed to be stored in the localhost, and of course, it can't find it. I've looked at Window>Activity in Safari on computers that still work on the system, and they don't have the crossdomain.xml problem because they've already logged into the system the first time, downloaded whatever it is they need, and then when they access the page again, the local data are combined with the page and we're presented with.
No one at the new security company can even explain what they're supposedly downloading in the crossdomain.xml.

Error message when finalizing...file already open with write protection

I just created my first movie in i Movie. It's about 9 minutes long. When I tried to finalize it it worked for a couple of hours and then came up with a message "unable to prepare project for publishing because an error occurred (file already open with write protection)". What does this mean? I thought I had closed all the files I was using. There was no error number. I tried it 3 times and got the same message. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

AppleMan, I just checked that and it looks like Time Machine isn't open. I checked it by going to finder>applications>R click on time machine. It gave me the option to "open" which makes me think it's already closed. Is there somewhere else I need to be looking?
I made another movie that was just a couple of clips and it finalized fine. On that movie, I had some MTS clips and I converted them to mp4's so iMovie could read them.
In the one that didn't work I did clip one of the movies before I imported it into iMovie. It saved as a .mov instead of a .mp4. Would that make a difference? I checked all of the files and none of them are listed as locked, so I really don't get the "write protected" aspect of this error.

My enter button and web search orb won't work only on my homepage. Works everywhere but there. We have Yahoo for a homepage. What should I do?

We have the at&t/yahoo homepage fixed where we can check our other email account. On this page, I have just a color theme and all of the news items disabled. We have had this for three years now. Just a few days ago we noticed that when we use the search bar that is included in the middle of the page that the enter button won't work. I usually type and hit enter as opposed to clicking on the mouse button. I do have the search assistant on. I tried to disable that, but it didn't help. I have a couple of other search toolbars and they work fine with the keyboard. It's just convenient especially for my husband to have it this way. I have searched the internet for several days and have come close to what I thought would be the answer but nothing has worked yet. Most of the questions/answers were old anyway. It might not have anything to do with Firefox, I just didn't know where else to ask questions too.

Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

Is there a tool or method for editting line elements on a pdf form?

We have recently created about 200 different acrobat forms with field elements. We started with MS Word and converted to PDF using Acrobat Professional then we added in the form elements. However the customer wants many lines removed or modified, table borders changed etc. Is there a tool out there that will allow me to edit the pdf directly and delete a line or fill in a gap in a table? We do not want to revert back to the word versions and start all over again.
As an example please view this file: http://kendallrace.com/cas.pdf We need to remove that half outlined table cell in the upper left, we need to remove the underlines in the middle of the page. And sometimes the border of a table cell might not be outlined so we need to draw a line to finish the outline.

If you want to simple give a message, just use an information message in your code.
Message I001(00) with 'This is the message text'.

I am having trouble connecting my Ipod to my itunes. Everytime i connect my ipod my computer gets it but it does not show up on itunes. Is there something i have to do so when i plug in my ipod to my laptop it shows up on itunes?

I used to be able to connect my ipod to my laptop and itunes used to open up and i could manage my ipod. But now I connect my ipod to my laptop and itunes does not come up. So i opened itunes and pluged in my ipod but it did not show up in itunes. My ipod does connect to my laptop but for some reason itunes is not showing me my ipod and i dont know what to do. Anyone know please?

I get an error message that says "A copy of Firefox is already open. Please close." How do I close one?

This error message occurred after I lost all of my bookmarks and history. I followed the instructions to rename the file and restart Firefox. When I did, the message appeared, and it has not gone away. I've even tried re-installing Firefox and it still won't work. I've got the latest update and I use a MacBook.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

When finalizing iMovie with less than a minute an error message said can not publish because project is already open!

My question is I get error message when finalizing imove projects saying "can not plublish your project with an open project"

It seems like there's a number of these being posted all around the iMovie Discussion Group. So the solution posted most recently that seems to work for the largest number of people is this:
This requires using the Terminal app, in your Applications/Utilities folder
To turn off Time Machine snapshots type in the following command:
sudo tmutil disablelocal
The Mac will likely ask for your password, so type it in and hit the return key. The type the word, exit and hit return. Quit Terminal.
