Is there contact software for a PC?

Is there a stand alone contact managemer program for a PC running Windows that can be used to maintain contacts on the Itouch?
I don't want to use my normal corporate Outlook contact database because it's much larger than I want carry. I did try to setup a seperate Outlook account which did work, but the order in which the data was displayed, expecialy phone numbers, was random.
I'm hoping for PC software that will allow me to enter/edit contact information and display the information (phone numbers) as I've entered them.
Thanks

The best way to handle this, is by Yahoo! Messenger, this is easy, only if you use it, but if you do, it's just about clicking sync with Yahoo! Address Book, and you're done.

Is there a sales contact software (database) for the IMAC?  I have been using ACT Contact software for the pc for years.

There are numerous contact management applications. Not sure if one is specifically devoted to sales contacts, but you can look for what's available either at the App Store (if you have 10.6.6 or later installed) by clicking on the App Store icon in your Dock or in the Applications folder. You can also search at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads

Is there any software for macbook to recover a deleted file?

    Hope & prayer?
Whatever it is you end up using, it is IMPERATIVE you stop using the Mac until the rescue is completed. The more the drive gets modified, the greater the chance that the storage area the deleted file used to occupy will get written over, thereby making rescue impossible.

  • Is there virus software for jet packs?

Is there virus software for jet packs? All IPs have free virus protection, does Verizon?

    Nope.
Jetpacks do not support virus software on themselves.  Only the clients that are connected to the Jetpack need to have virus protection like your laptop, smartphone or other wireless device.  This is commonly the situation for routers and modems.
Otherwise if you wanted to provide yourself with extra protection then you would have to look into setting up some kind of a 3rd party firewall.  The firewall would protect your device from direct exposure to the Jetpack.  The virus protection software on your devices would then only have to worry about what makes it through your firewall.  Most OSs come with some kind of a firewall built into them already though.

  • Is there VNC software for OS9?

Is there VNC software for OS9? (Like Chicken of the VNC for OSX)
I want to be able to control an OSX machine from an OS9 machine. Can this be done?
    -JN

Yes there is VNC software out for classic
    here are a few links
    VNC Thing for classic
    ChromiVNC for classic
    NetMath VNC for
    classic
    VNC clients for classic
    MacVNC for PPC and 68K
I hope this is what you was talking about and hope
    this helps
Well, it is what I was looking for. Too bad that...
    #1 is no longer there
    #2 doesn't work
    #3 doesn't work
#4 & 5 (same program) crashes big time
Oh well, it was worth a try. Perhaps there are extension conflicts or something. Thanks anyway for the suggestions. I think I'll just switch over to OSX when I need to on the machine in question. Chicken of the VNC works like a charm.

  • Is there legal software for Macs?

I am looking to create healthcare and financial power of attorneys through legal software. However, I have had no success going to stores locally and locating any. Does anyone know if such a thing exists for Macs?
(I would be more than happy to hire an attorney, however, that is $1k and eeps... a bit spendy.)

I suspect that what you're looking for is not Mac software for lawyers, but legal advice/templates. It's not going to be easy to find Mac software for something like that. Almost all I ever looked at were for Windows. So perhaps your best option for this job is to install Win under Boot Camp.
Alternatively, you could google for stuff which is not platform-dependent. For instance,
    <http://www.standardlegal.com/>
supply legal forms in MS Word, PDF, or plain text format. Any of these should work on your Mac (you can use OpenOffice, LibreOffice, or NeoOffice if you don't have MS Word). (Note that I give the link above just as an example. I've never used their forms, so I don't know how good they are.) There are also free sites which provide on-line fillable forms, and they should also work with your Mac.

  • Is there a software for InDesign that will translate my english text into spanish text

I have InDesign files in English text. Is there a software that will translate text into Spanish?
    Thanks,
    Sharon

It's well worth paying someone who knows both languages well to do the translating.
With software translation, at best, you get a rough translation. At worst, (especially when you can't read the language you are translating to), you could get something like this:

  • Is there Mac software for repairing corrupted pdf files?

Using Mac 10.5.8, Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.2.
Many of my pdf files are encrypted on a sparsebundle disk image, as they are personal financial files.
Randomly files become corrupted, and even though I back up, it is a recurring and very time-consuming problem.
It's basically the only problem I have with my system, and because of the importance of the files very frustrating.
There are PC-based file repair programs. I've come across references to a command-line program, but hey, I'm a Mac user, right?
    Is there anything?
And while we're at it, what can I do to prevent files from becoming corrupted? These are files from my scanner, not downloaded.
    Thanks

See this list for Cameras that are compatiblie with iMovie. Almost all Sony cameras made in the last 5 years work with iMovie, so odds are high that your camera will work. The only exception is that some manufacturers have started providing 60P cameras. These cannot be used at 60P in iMovie (or on a TV set for that matter). But these cameras typically have other settings like 30P or 60i that work fine.
The bundled software with the Sony is Windows software. They do not bundle Mac software with Sonys because iMovie comes with every Mac anyway, and that is all you need.
I think your camera works with an SDHC card. You can easily insert the SDHC card into a card reader and import the footage. New iMacs have card readers built into the side. In iMovie, you just start iMovie. Then insert the card and wait for iMovie to see it. Or you can click the camera icon on the middle toolbar if it does not see it.
You can also attach your camera via USB. In this case, the camera must be plugged into wall power, and you attach via a USB cable.
Follow the instructions in the manual for how to set the controls of the camera during import.
Edited to add...You need a Mac with at least an Intel Processor to import from this camera. Older PowerPC models (G5, G4) will not work. Even with them you can get third party software to convert to a form iMovie can handle.

  • Is there older software for OSX10.4?

    Hi
Does anyone know if there is an older version of the blackberry desktop manager that will synch with a mac on OSX10.4.11?
    Thanks

    Hey martintheyeoman,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Currently BlackBerry Desktop Software needs OS X 10.5.8, you can upgrade your OS to use that software or try looking for Missing Sync or PocketMac.  I believe they are both paid applications.

  • Is there Assisted Software for visually imparied Mac users?

I was recently extolling the virtues and reliability of Mac to a visually imparied (blind) friend of mine. She is researching assisted software compatability with various devices and she has said there there does not appear to be such for Mac.

The Accessibility pane within System Preferences is where you would start. The OS has many settings that can be tailored to a visually impaired person, so that every app exhibits the enhancements.
