Is there crypto library preinstalled on SUN FIRE V1280?

Im sun user. using SUN FIRE V1280.
I belive that SUN FIRE V1280 which is bought by my university has many facilitis.
Is there crypto library build in in this machine in C, such symmetric algothim ,such AES 3DES ,and hashing algorthims?
Please forward it to who in charge.
Thanks in advance.

You might want to look at IDimager.com | Photo Supreme. It runs on a "referenced" catalog basis much like Media Pro 1 does  and can have it's source files on any volume including NAS servers.
There's a demo that you can try.  The customer support people gave me these links:

I've not tried it as yes so can't comment further.

  • "Memory  Sizing" error on Sun Fire V65x

    Hello.
    I have some trouble with my old Sun Fire V65x and i hope that you guys can help me out.
    I had 2,5GB RAM installed in my server, working flawless. 2 x 256MB and 2 x 1GB modules. 256-modules in Bank 1 and 1GB´s in Bank 2.
    To get rid of the boot up warning of wrong memory configuration i moved the 2 1GB modules to bank 3 (as stated in the manual) but that was when the problem started.
    In this configuration the server won't go to POST, i tried moving the 1GB modules around between bank 1, 2 & 3 without any result.
    The server will not go to POST. No beeps, no nothing. When turning the server on line it starts up, the fans starts running on at maximum speed and that's all, no picture and no POST and the system warning LED turns to red. After a couple of minutes in this state the fans slow down for a couple of seconds and then back to 100% (repeating cycle)
    The POST diagnostics LEDs at the back of the main board indicates POST code 13h, "Memory sizing". The main board does not report any defective DIMMs, also worth mentioning is that the 2 256MB DIMMs are working flawlessly in all banks.
    I have tried:
    Resetting the memory config in BIOS (using the 2x256 DIMMs and then installing the 2 1GB modules.
    Moving the memory modules around between different banks, both alone and with the 2 256MB DIMMs present.
    Clearing the CMOS settings.
    Searching manuals and Google for hours without answer to my problem or what "memory sizing " means in this situation.
    System:
    Sun Fire V65x
    1 CPU
    If anyone know the answer to my dilemma and are willing to help me, i would be really grateful.
    Sadly i do not have the possibility to test the memory modules in another system.
    Best regards. Erik Järlestrand, Sweden.

    Hardware. A reboot will probably not do anything. From what I can tell, it's a CPU cache problem. If you do anything, shut the system down completely, turn the power off for a minimum of 20 seconds to let any residual electricty go away, the turn it back on. If the problem returns, you'll most likely need to either get a new CPU module or a new V100. I don't know if the CPU can be removed from the V100 motherboard, but since there are jumper settings for the speed I would assume that you can.

  • Up-gradation of Sun Fire 6800 to Sun Fire E6900 UltraSPARC IV+ Processors

    We wanted to upgrade our exisiting two Sun Fire 6800 Servers to Sun FIre E6900 with Ultra SPARC IV+ processors boards and memory only. This, we want to do through Sun UAP uniboard promotion.
    So we want to know the compatibility and additional requirement before going a head for this activity ....
    Tech specs details mentioned below ....
    Existing Sun FIre 6800 Servers Specs ...
    Processor : sparcv9 UltraSPARC-III+
    Model : Sun Fire 6800
    Processor Speed : 900 MHz
    RAM : 48 GB
    Processor Count : 24
    Will be upgraded to Sun FIre E6900 ........
    Upgrade to E6900, 12 x 1.8Ghz US IV+ CPU, 96GB Memory.
    I want to confirm below queries before placing order with Sun Micro sysytems...
    1) Is there requirement for Box change ( Chassis ) or Sun Microsystems will provide it free of cost with this promotional programme ?
    2) Is there any need to add more Power supply due to this up-gradation or additional PS will be a part of this kit ?
    3) Is there anything left out in our discussion or planning which needs to be added or upgraded to make the solution compatible ?
    Please add your valuable inputs for this up-gradation . Quick response will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance ...

    Considering the domain name in your email address...
    This is far from the first SF6800 your company administers, that's been upgraded.
    Having said that, you need to keep in mind that these forums are NOT a venue for techsupport from Sun. They are hosted so that the user community can have general conversations, swap stories, and more.
    So, as for your questions:
    (1) Contact Sun and ask them for an accurate answer ( and no, the outer chassis does not get swapped ).
    (2) Contact Sun and ask them for an accurate answer ( I seem to remember that you must buy whatever PSU's, system controllers, and whatever else may be necessary, in addition to the uniboards ).
    (3) I suggest you discuss this plan with your peers in other EDS sites that have already done this. This promotion is not anything new. It seems to be offered every few months or so, since the E6900's first arrived in 2004.
    Expect to do a ton of firmware and OS upgrades so that the system can handle the US-IV+ architecture of the new hardware. That will need to be done before the new hardware is inserted to the chassis.

  • How can I connect to sun fire v125 with serial mgr port by hyperterminal

    Hi there!
    My c.o. got a sun fire v125 server.My mission is finish setting up the server.But as I followed the sun
    fire v125's document, it aint be connected to this server with serial mgr port by using windows xp hyperterminal .
    My step as:
    step1. Find the original RJ45 net cable from the v125 box, and put one side into
    Serial MGR Port of V125.
    step2. Combined the RJ45 net cable's other side with DB-9 converter,
    then plug the DB-9 converter into the PC's serial port(9 pins).
    step3. start the pc(windows xp sp2), and then creat a hyperterminal link in COM1 as:
    Bits/Sec--9600, DataBits--8, Parity--None, Stop bits--1, Flow control--Xon/Xoff
    And then pause connect. make it hang up.
    step4. push the sun fire v125 power button. after 1mins, resume the hyperterminal,
    connect to the v125.
    as above all is all my step here. Somewhere incorrect?if theres no problem, why can't I receive the
    "sc> " promote?
    Theres only one thing what i can do is input from keyboard....?
    I had known that there will be promoted the "sc> " after you start the connection of hyperterminal with the correct steps?
    BTW,I had input "#." with enter key, but it doesnt work!
    Is there anybody met this problem as mine? Or can you give me some hits?
    Thank you for your reading.

    Im sorry for replying so late.
    I'd solved it long time ago.
    finally I found I made a mistake that I connect the Serialport Cable which came from PC
    to the RJ45(NIC) port which came from Sun Server :-@
    If you still can not get the prompts, check these parameters of your hyperterminal:
    connect a terminal or a terminal emulator (PC or workstation) to the SC serial management port.
    Configure the terminal or terminal emulator with these settings:
    * 9600 baud
    * 8 bits
    * No parity
    * 1 Stop bit
    * No handshaking

  • Sun Fire x4100

    I recently got a Sun fire x4100 server, which does not have an OS loaded. I am able to connect to ILOM (version 2.0.2.1) through the Serial management port and using SSH in Putty. I can also get to the web admin page and launch the remote java console.
    However, when I enter the start /SP/console command from a Serial or SSH session the session hangs at "Serial console started. To stop, type ESC (" It will return to the -> prompt if you press the escape characters, however, it doesn't bring up another prompt (such as ok>) and it doesn't respond to any other input. I can't get anything except a blank black screen from the locally attached monitor or the java remote console. I also can't get a BIOS screen to show up for the system, though I can watch the full ILOM boot process in the serial connection.
    The machine doesn't seem to detect any hardware problems. How can I check what it is using for a console output device? I just need to change the boot order so that it uses the OS install CD?
    Thank you

    Ok, that makes more sense and an important distinction for anyone who isn't used to Sun hardware to realize (This is my first experience with a Sun server)....I think I have been starting the system board using start /SYS because the fans, etc in the server would really take off after issuing that command. However, still no output to the local monitor, the javarconsole, or any change in the serial console (It is still hanging at the Escape sequence notice).
    Just to make sure I'm doing this correctly, (if its not available through the local monitor) console access is usually achieved by:
    1) starting ILOM (plug in server)
    2) establish either a serial or SSH terminal session
    3) fire up the system board using start /SYS (or restart it, when necessary, if it started when the server was plugged in using stop -f /SYS and then start /SYS)
    4) allow console access using start /SP/console (Can you specify where console access is allowed/directed with this command?)
    5) check javarconsole or local monitor for BIOS screen/system board boot up
    Is there another way to start the system board or if it is starting, which it seems to be, is there a way to figure out what it is using for an output?

    Dear All,
    Sorry, if I ask this question to this forum again. Yesterday, I tried to shutdown SUN Fire 4800 machine. It is the same machine which I asked to all of you before.
    At "OK" prompt, I typed *#.* in order to go to SC (System Controller) to shutdown the Machine. (As I know that "OK" prompt just shutdown the OS level)
    But, I got the Error message.. These are commands that I have typed, but still did not work

  • Solaris 9 in a Sun Fire V100 Box ServerSocket Bug

    I am running Solaris 9 in a Sun Fire V100
    I am having a problem openning Sockets where programs are written in Java.
    The program is written in Java with the ServerSocket class.
    I wrote a very simple class to test.
    The port is available of course I already verified it.
    I checked with the SecurityManager to verify this is not a
    security policy but I receive a null from the System.getSecurityManager
    which means there is no securityu manager installed.
    I have many other apllications that are able to open ports and listen, but Java seams
    to be having problem in Solaris 9. I have tried 5 different versions of Java. Last version
    I tried is jsdk 1.4.2_05.
    The same thing happens with Tomcat that crashes while
    trying to open a listening Socket.
    ServerSocket server;
    try
    server = new ServerSocket(8005,1024, InetAddress.getByName("127.0.0.1"));
    System.out.println("BINDING SUCCESFUL");
    catch(Exception e)
    System.out.println(e);
    System.exit(-1);
    while(true)
    try
    Socket clientSocket = server.accept();
    ClientHandler2 t = new ClientHandler2(clientSocket);
    t.start();
    catch(IOException e)
    System.err.println( e );
    Is this a well known bug...
    Can anyone be so kind to help me up with this terrible matter
    Thank you,

  • Re: Sun Fire v490 / Solaris 9 booting from CD, Network problems

    Hi Folks,
    Apologies in advance for the length of this post.
    For the purposes of disaster recovery I have built a custom CD based on the Solaris 9 installation disk with our third party backup / restore software included on it.
    After the rcS script has setup networking it runs a bash shell so that I can label / partition / format the hard disks as necessary then use the third party software to recover the system.
    This works fine on almost all the machines we've tested (Ultra 10s, Ultra 30s, FS Prime Power 400)
    On one Sun Fire v490 however I seem to have problems with networking...
    Part of the customised rcS script makes the following call
    ifconfig ce0 10.4.20.20 netmask 255.255.0.0 upto configure the NIC. However when the rcS script leaves me at the shell I'm unable to ping anything.
    The output from ifconfig - a looks like...
    lo0 flag=..
        inet 127.0.0.1
    ce0: flags=1000823<UP BROADCAST,NOTRAILER,MULTICAST,IPv4>
        mtu 1500 index 2 inet 10.4.20.20 netmask ffff0000 broadcast 10.255.255.255 ether 0:14:4f:0:be:beThe only thing that looks odd to me is that there's no "RUNNING" entry for ce0 that I get if I boot from the same CD on my other machines (Ultra 30s & Ultra 10s)
    The broadcast address looks wrong, but again it's the same when I boot from th CD on my other test machines and they all seem to work.
    I'm pretty sure that ce0 is "plumbed", 'cos if I "unplumb" it from the shell prompt then it doesn't even appear in the output from ifconfig.
    Someone has suggested that it's a connectivity issue, but if I boot normally rather than from my custom CD then the networking is fine.
    As a test I tried removing the drivers for hme from the CD then booting one of my Ultra30s but in this case the entry for hme0 was completely absent from the output of ifconfig.
    So I've concluded that the driver for ce0 is at least there on the v490.
    So for the moment I'm confused as to why the ce0 appears on the output for ifconfig, but has no RUNNING 'flag'
    Anyone got any ideas
    Many thanks in advance
    Regards
    Kevin

  • Login problem in sun fire V490 through Hyper terminal

    I am a new user of sun Solaris 10 . In my sun fire v490 server every thing is configured fine there is no fault in booting .But when I configured the file /etc/inet/hosts in solaris 10 and missed to configure the file /etc/inet/netmask and /etc/inet/ipnodes, due to which server is not allow me to login there is an error occur " unable to login" . Now what is the other way to login into server console. I am entering in the console using normal mode, should I try to login in using diagnostic mode., or is there any other way to login into and modify the file. I also need training videos of solaris configuration .
    Help in this regard will be highly appreciable.

    I don't think the test-scsi command is viable for that platform.
    The FC disks are "viewed" by the system as external to the SCSI controller, almost as if they were in a multi-pack.
    They are FC drives addressed by the chipset as SCSI disks.
    Try:
    <pre>probe-scsi-all</pre>
    Edit:
    Which release of Solaris 10 are you trying to install?
    Older releases that might be fine for V480's won't work on V490's.

  • Sun Fire X2100  Blinking Status LED...

    We have 3 new Sun Fire X2100 servers at my current job. Just recently the status LED (orange) started blinking. The logs show fine and running a prtdiag shows everything up and running fine. Is there a way to turn off the blinking LED? I have gone over every piece of information I can find and have found nothing about how to turn this off once it has started blinking.

    This may be one of two issues:
    - There's a know ILOM/nge driver bug in eariler releases of S10 x86 (pre 6/06).
    - There's a know issue with an older firmware rev of the BIOS/LOM where the net management port hangs/drops out and triggers the blinking fault LED. Do you know what BIOS revision you are at?
    Most times a mobo swap is NOT the fix. You may be making the problem worse because we have mobos in the supply chain with older firmware revisions.
    On the X2100's I usually have my customers try:
    - Moving the RAM in different slots
    - Updating the BIOS/LOM firmware
    - Running the PC-Check diags
    ... before I send a field tech out to do major surgery.

  • SUN Fire V65 - System Status LED - non-critical condition

    Hi guys
    We have a Checkpoint Cluster which is made up of 2 Sun Fire V65 servers.
    The front panel of the servers are showing the System Status LED lights as Blinking Amber , which sun documenation has listed as
    "Blinking amber: Indicates the system is in a non-critical condition" ref: http://dlc.sun.com/pdf/817-2024-12/817-2024-12.pdf
    We have resetead the hardware, cleared ,logs, even change HW etc. The light goes away for some time and then returns.
    Can anyone advise on what to do?
    Sun has the following listed in their Troubleshooting pdf i ref before
    "Non-Critical Condition
    A non-critical condition is indicated with a blinking amber status LED and signifies
    that at least one of the following conditions is present:
    ¡ Temperature, voltage, or fan non-critical threshold crossing.
    ¡ Chassis intrusion.
    ¡ Satellite controller sends a non-critical state, via the Set Fault Indication
    command, to the BMC.
    ¡ A Set Fault Indication command from the system BIOS. The BIOS may use the Set
    Fault Indication command to indicate additional, non-critical status such as
    system memory or CPU configuration changes"
    Is there any Unix / Linux / SPLAT logs I can look at or debugging we can look at.
    Thanks in advance

    Your initial description mentions that you have swapped various pieces of hardware around. I presume that means you used current parts instead of new-never-used components. Are both of the clustered systems showing the same symptoms?
    I can only think of a couple of additional things to try.
    Firstly, those are old boxes. V65's went EOL in January 2005, so yours are at least that old if not older. They are x86 architecture. Have you replaced the CR2032 CMOS battery that's on the systemboard? Have you additionally checked for voltage fluctuations in the data center? A marginal power supply can "mostly work" but it can be effected by an AC mains issue.
    If that doesn't change anything, then you may need to contact Checkpoint. They may be able to point you toward some sort of heartbeat function that is tripping a fault level when it flip-flops between the two systems.
    That's a software investigation and would be outside the scope of this forum.

  • Adding a new processor + RAM to a Sun Fire X2270

    Hi,
    I have a Sun Fire X2270 with Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5504 @ 2.00GHz CPU and 8 GB RAM from factory.
    The server has 2 processors sockets, I want to add another new processor (before it gets older).
    Can I just buy a new processor from Internet? I called Oracle but I think they are not interested in selling and sending just one processor.
    According to the tech specs of the server hardware I have a couple of Intel processors options apart of the one that came preinstalled, the same Intel Xeon 5500 series.
    This is the one I want:
    Intel® Xeon® Processor L5520 (8M Cache, 2.26 GHz, 5.86 GT/s Intel® QPI)
    http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=40201
    Can I just buy it and plug it in? no special version from Sun/Oracle? isn't the same exact model of the one that already has, but the same Intel series, is this possible to have different processors models? this one has a couple of more features and it is faster.
    Of course I also will buy more RAM, what do you say about this one:
    Kingston KTS-SF313/8G 8GB 1333MHz Reg ECC Module

  • Sun Fire X4100 - XP Installation

    Hi -
    Where can I get a copy of an SIA that will allow me to install Windows XP? If there is no SIA, is there a method to install XP onto this server?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    If you have a valid support coverage you can download Hardware Installation Assistant (previously called Sun Installation Assistant) from MyOracleSupport website 'Patches&Updates' tab.
    The latest version of HIA for Sun Fire X4100 is 1.5.2 and the patch number is 10335353 (it's a zipped .iso file).
    Cheers!
