Oracle BPM 10gR3 to Oracle SOA 11g Suite

I am not sure some body else already asked.
I have Oracle BPM product in production which is fine and happy the way it works. Its developed from Version: 10.3.1.0.0 Build: #100364. We use custom JSP, JavaComponent, PAPI etc in this.
We are thinking of migrating to Oracle SOA 11g Suite.
Is there any tool for this? If not, anything expected?
Do we need to re-write our BPM 10g app to 11g? What all parts might need to re-write?

To answer to you question in a straight way I am afraid there is no direct migration path from OBPM 10g to Oracle SOA Suite 11g. You would need to we-write a lot of things like
1. As of now the BPM API's arent public. so u wont have something like PAPI as in OBPM
2. There is no support for PBL/Java in Oracle BPM 11g. However if you want to use custom Java Component u can leverage BPEL or Spring along with BPM. Every component is afterall packed inside a single composite.
3. It is advisable to have all dashboards and UI's developed with ADF if you are with Oracle SOA Suite 11g but even if you have JSPs that shouldnt be a problem.

BINDING.JCA-12510 JCA Resource Adapter location error in SOA 11g Suite

I am just testing one simple SOA Application in SOA 11g Suite. Created a SOA Composite Application with one DB Adapter at designtime all worked fine with DB Adapter. But when I deploy the Application on the server I get the following error:
The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510 JCA Resource Adapter location error. Unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/> The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/DB/soademoDatabase'. The reason for this is most likely that either 1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or 2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/DB/soademoDatabase. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR). Please correct this and then restart the Application Server ".Do I need to jndi-name in weblogic-ra.xml if so what is the exact location. Any help is appreciated.

I did but still not able to connect now getting the following error. I went to the Weblogic Console, clicked on deployments, selected DBAdapter, clicked on configuration ,
and then I don't see outbound configurations instead it shows Outbound Connection Pools, Under Outbound Connection Pools tab I clicked on New and it asked to select Outbound Connection Group I selected the one that was already there (with JNDI eis/DB/SOADemo) and then created my JNDI which was added to the default Outbound Connection Group and in the end it asked to save the Plan.xml which I saved it under a new directory created under soa directory. But still am not able to connect.
How do I create my own Connection Group as don't want to use the defualt one out there.
After creating the JNDI Name it asks for saving the Plan.xml file. Where exactly we save this file. Are there any standards.
Why can't I update any properties when I click on the new JNDI name it takes to Settings for javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory --> Outbound Connection Properties but there I see a save buttn but I can't make any changes.

The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution. Is there any documentation that lists all these steps as I couldn't find it anywhere. The guide only talks abou DBAdapter but how to configure etc can't find any info. Any help is appreciated.

It sounds like you have some audio issues with your iPad after the iOS 7 update.
I want to recommend the following troubleshooting from the article named:

SOA 11g suite configuration issues

I'm trying to setup SOA Suite 11g TP4 within JDeveloper 11g in my Windows machine. I was following the instructions given at <<http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/techpreview/soa11g_installation_tp4.pdf>>.
I have created the SOA db schema and the environment variables as needed. I'm using Oracle XE database. The SOA configuration runs fine for a while after which it starts throwing the following errors and finally ends with "Configuration of SOA Infrastructure FAILED". The startsoa.log has the following errors -
application : sdpmessagingserver is in failed state
SEVERE: Application.setConfig Application: sdpmessagingserver is in failed state as initialization failed.
java.lang.InstantiationException: Error initializing ejb-modules: compilation error occurred
Caused by: com.evermind.compiler.CompilationException: compilation error occurred
Can someone please help me with this ?

Well .. use deploy from projects to deploy the SOA Composite only(SAR file) ..i case u wanna deploy MAR(mds) files or Web projects related to an Application like HumanTask Applications in 11.1.1.0 we use it from deployment .. i guess u can deploy multiple composites by creating a bundle too from Application deployment ..

Modifying Memory Optimization parameter for BPEL process in SOA 11g

I have turned on memory optimization parameter for my BPEL process in the composite.xml (11g)
this is what I have in composite.xml:
<property name="bpel.config.inMemoryOptimization">false</property>
How do we modify this parameter in the EM console at runtime? I changed this property to "true" using the System MBean browser, but it wasn't taking effect. I thought the SOA server must be restarted (similar to what we used to do in 10g). But when I restart the SOA server, the parameter goes back to whatever the value was in the composite.xml ignoring the change I made in the System MBean browser
Please share your thoughts.

Deploying a newer version is not an option, as the endpoints could change (not sure if it would in 11g, but in 10g it does) and also, our service consumers will be pointing to the older version.As mentioned above, if clients are using URL without version then call will be forwarded to default version of composite internally. No manual tweaking required for this. Just make sure that while deploying the new version you are marking it as default.
Besides, we report on service metrics and having multiple versions just complicates things.Not at all. If you are not using versioning feature, you are really under utilizing the Oracle SOA 11g. Remember that metrics can be collected for a single composite with same effort, irrespective of the number of composite versions deployed. Only few product tables refer the version while storing composite name and rest all use only the composite name without version. I do not know how you are collecting service metrics but we use DB jobs for same it works perfectly with any number of composites having multiple versions deployed.
The idea is to do some debugging and collect audit trail in case there is a production issue by disabling inMemoryOptimization parameter. This is a live production environment and deploying whenever we want is not even an option for us, unfortunately. Why not debug by increasing log level. Diagnostic logs are the best option to debug an issue even in production. For getting audit trail you may re-produce the issue in lower environments. I think no organization will allow re-deployments just for debugging some issue in production until and unless it is too critical issue to handle.
Does this not supported in 11g? if it isn't, it does seem like a bug to me. You may always go ahead and raise a case with support.

3rd Party Adapters in Soa 11g

Hi All,
Can anybody tell me from where i can download the external (third party) adapters like SAP, Siebel.... for SOA 11g?
from previous posts it was said that there are no 3rd party adapters included in Soa 11g.. But if there are available for soa 10g then Can I use those in SOA 11g?
If so how can I use them?...

Problem with Email notifications in SOA 11g

Exception: java.util.ArrayList cannot be cast to org.w3c.dom.Element
i'm getting the follwoing error while trying to use the email acitivity in SOA 11g. I'm using the 11.1.1.3.0 version...Is there any solution for this?

Go to soa-infra under SOA in EM console, now go to SOA Administration, then go to workflow notification properties...
now set the notification mode to email, and also under the notification service...fill email addresses in from address, reply address and actionable address...

Error while starting SOA 11g

Hi Gurus,
I have recently started working on SOA 11g and I tried to install it in my machine.. Everything got installed fine without an error.
Below are the component versions:
1. Database : 11.1.0.6.0
2. RCU Version : 11.1.1.3.3
3. Weblogic Server : 10.3.2
4. SOA Suite : 11g
5. Jdeveloper : 11.1.2.0

I don't see any entry like this in my SetSOADomainenv. cmd file. Howver I added it as per your suggestion, but still no luck.
It is still showing up the same error.

How to use JKS-based Keystore in Oracle SOA 11g

I am trying to do FTPS on third party remote server(with UNIX OS) using SOA 11g FTP Adapter. I have Installed and Configured vsftpd and generated vsftpd.pem certificate file on remote server.
Followed the steps mentioned in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#CIABDGCF
In one of the step "Setting Up the Oracle FTP Adapter" walletLocation is required, then I went through steps mentioned in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/core.1111/e10105/wallets.htm#CHDGIJDC
Tried to use both 1) JKS Keystore Management 2) Wallet Management
But unable to find both of them in em of Oracle SOA 11g as the steps are not matching.
Can anyone tell me how to use JKS Keystore Management or Wallet Management ?

I believe the wallet can be created from the FMW console only if the HTTP server is installed and available. If there is no Oracle HTTP server, please configure one as given under.

Transaction rolled back......soa 11g

I have a bpel process 1 which calls bpel process 2. Bpel process 2 is a file write. In my instance bpel process 2 is called and the file is written successfully. but bpel process 1 gets errored out with no errors being displayed. The bpel process 1 has a red colour at the point where it invokes the child process. and also a line saying transaction rolled back.
But there is no error in the child process instance
Please do suggest me the solution.

The issue may be due to the transaction timeout, verify the configured timeouts and the processing time of the process B.
Try increasing Sync Max Time Out and the other timeouts accordingly and test it.

In soa 11g, if you send a request to soa composite (that would also have database adapter to write the request as record in database) and if the request fails/errors in the middle of the composite ---- then how would you make sure that the ENTIRE request should ROLLBACK ? so that there is no corrupt data sitting because of failure/error ?
In Java we know, Start Transaction ------- if Fail ---- then ROllback entire transaction.............. if success the COmmit entire transaction. ........
Same thing, how to achieve in SOA process ?

Business Rules (SOA 11g)

We are facing one issue while implementing an use-case in Business Rules (SOA 11g). In brief it is defined as below:
There is an aggregate function used to calculate the sum of all nodes and based on the result, we need to send notifications.
In the Rule Set of a Business Rule project, we have created one Decision table and have defined our Rule conditions there (say Price > 500 and Price < 500).
Above these conditions, we have defined aggregate function ( under advanced category), where we will calculate the sum of all Price nodes in a variable.
And finally, we have Actions set for both the Rule Conditions, whereas notifications will be sent to the desired user.
While executing this project, we are getting the below mentioned error:

Note: There is a check-box above each action item, where we can select whether we want to execute this action or not. Now when we select only one out of these Actions ( say 1st one), and other one is unchecked and we execute the project by giving input according to 1st Rule condition, the project runs successfully. But when both the Action Items are checked, it fails.
If anybody has faced the similar issue, please revert.

I would advice you to make use a debug-function to be able to run locally in JDeveloper.
Then try to make the easiest case possible work, and then thange to what you really want.
Whaty type is the input to the rule, is it a complex type ?
Are you running from BPEL ?

Is there going to be a SOA 11g suite TP5 out shortly?
