Is There No FLV/Flash Player or Converter for 10.3.9 under Quicktime 7.5?

Greetings:
Is There No Working FLV/Flash Player or Converter for 10.3.9 under Quicktime 7.5?
QT 7.5 plum doesn't play flash at all, Flip4Mac or Perian or no. VLC and Streamclip have no video, and I tried the latest iSquint to convert and ended up with blank video that the helper patcher couldn't fix (at least under Panther). I'd try SWF & FLV Player if there was one that worked under Panther but despite the 10.3.9 labels on download sites they're all Tiger only. The only FLV player I found is "Wimpy" but it's very awkward and works only with dragged files.
I heard there was some trouble with QT 7.5 regarding videos and some go back to 7.4, but I REALLY don't want to go the install and archive route!
Any savior would be most appreciated!
Thanks
JimWG
Using 10.3.9/10.4.9 partitions on 900mHz G3 iBook.

Thanks lots for your assist!
I'll test that out once I get home to my G3 iBook, but in a nutshell I guess I'm asking is can Quicktime directly read FLV files under G3 10.3.9 like Quicktime (with Perian) does under 10.4.11 without any go-betweens? Is there a "Perian" type add-on for QT under !0.3.9 to play FLVs by? It seems that so many folks have left Panther that no one's ever ran into this issue!

  • Is there any working flash player?

    Hello all,
Excuse me, but I'm getting really irrtated now.
My (multiple) problems with adobe flash player started in june 2012 after I made the stupid decision to update it. If I get any version to work properly again I certainly will not touch it for the rest of my life.....
    My previous threads:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4881107#4881107 (Flash Player 11.3.300.257 Firefox Plugin multiple problems on both XP and Vista)
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4882513#4882513 (Still hardware volume button fail after update to 11.4.402.278)
No, my problems with Firefox and flash player haven't been solved. So I think, ok I'll use IE9 to view youtube vids, well that that doesn't work either?!?
Here's the list of issues which I face now:
    1. I can't use a new flash player version in Firefox because of the hardware volume bug in flash player (see thread above), So I have to use an older one.
    2. In Firefox youtube constantly freezes. It's like the video file won't load further. I have to use escape or refresh or whatever to get it to work again.
    3. In IE9 I can't use the full screen feature, the screen is all messed up and the vid won't work properly (it's not the hardware acceleration thingy).
So summarized I have a flash player problem for over half a year now on 2 laptops with 2 differfent windows versions with 2 different browsers. That makes 4 options. And none of those work? Both laptops are recently fresh installed, clean and do not have much software on them.
    Laptop 1:
Windows XP fully up to date
    IE9 with latest flash player
FF latest with flash player 11.2.202.233
    Laptop 2:
Windows Vista fully up to date
    IE9 with latest flash player
FF latest with flash player 11.2.202.233
So my question: Is there any working flash player? If yes please tell me, because I need one pronto.
I hope there's one technician out there who knows enough about it, because till now no one did...
    ThaPlayah
OK, so it seems I've killed the IE9 full screen bug by disabling the HTML5 trial option. In my eyes it would be better to leave that option disabled by default, because HTML5 isn't even here yet. Otherwise let people know they can untick that option! Anyhow the rest of my Firefox problems still remain, and I do prefer Firefox (read totally dislike IE9)

    Hi ThaPlaya,
I feel your pain. I am in charge of over 250 PCs and laptops. Flash Player stopped working for me after an update. I have been working on this issue non-stop since the middle of October, 2012. It's time-consuming, and even after applying the latest Flash update, it still doesn't work properly.
I am beyond frustrated! I have people calling me left and right saying that they can't access content. I have been using this site https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ to try and do a browser plug-in check while in IE an dFirefox. Even after I update all plug-ins, Flash still works about half the time.
For instance, the principal of the middle and high school wanted to view an online magazine http://upfront.scholastic.com/issues/12_10_12, about 3 pages load on this site. The rest continue to say LOADING. When I right-click on a page and then left-click on ABOUT ADOBE 11.5.502.110, it seems I am using the most up-to-date version for IE and Firefox.
Students are trying to access sumdog.com and stmath.com, both run using Flash. STMath is now working a bit better because I allowed some exceptions in our internet content filtering appliance, and in our firewall, sumdog still works half the time.
If Adobe is going to update their browser plug-ins, they need to test and retest before giving the public access. This situation is causing me a ton of problems!
    Sorry to infiltrate your post...

Is there a adobe Flash player for ipad2

You can watch a Flash-based video on a platform (Mac or PC) that has Adobe Flash installed. That would NOT be an iPad.
You should complain to the maker of the video that they should offer the content in a format that works on tablets.

Your best course of action is to email the web sites that use Flash and request that they support iOS. If you also mention that there are now well over 200 million iOS users worldwide that can't use the web site it might get their attention. A colleague of mine has been bent out of shape over the Flash issue since day one but he has finally started to contact web sites and request they support iOS. He has gotten several "we're working on it" responses so far. If all iOS users started doing this it would wouldn't be long before the issue would disappear. Strength in numbers and all that.

While no one can say with absolute certainty, at this time it appears to be highly unlikely that a version of Flash Player will ever appear for iOS. Adobe has said that they've given up work on a version for iOS, so unless they change their minds at some point, and can come up with a version that would meet Apple's criteria for performance, security and stability, then Kappy is correct that no, it won't happen.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 Fix for WinXP and Vista, IE7, IE8, Firefox, ect.(New Fast Fix)

(This is a possible solution for most users) I have found that inside the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (WinXP Home/Pro) (Computer > C: Drive > Windows > System32 > Macromed > Flash for Vista) there should be a file named FlashUtil10b.exe (IF NOT YOU SHOULD UPDATE AS SPECIFIED!) (or FlashUtil10a.exe or for older versions something similar depending on your version), which is the update utility for flash player. Click on this and if it updates, you will have to restart your computer. This should fix any missing files, and update you to the latest version.
On a side note to all those who read this, I downloaded and installed 5 different times, the same version, from different websites, all for the "new" flash version, and they didn't work (this also included trying to update Shockwave player itself). Apparently, going directly to the website and downloading a new version of Adobe Flash Player, and installing, doesn't uninstall the older version, (though it says it does nor does the uninstaller work directly from the website) nor fixes the problem. I assume they are aware of this problem, because they included this bug fix in revision 10b. This fix should work for those of you whom cannot view/see flash images as well. There also appears to be a bug/reference problem with the installation of IE8 giving the error "Missing Shockwave Decompression XTRA", when trying to play a Shockwave/Flash file, which seems also to affect Firefox and other browsers. It doesn't recognize that the folder or files that it needs in it, exist. I never had his problem before, until IE8 was installed. I checked which version I had in the system32 folder and found this updater built in to Adobe. Version 10a does NOT automatically update, but version 10b includes this fix. I currently had version 10a when I received this error, and began digging for a solution. Doing the update as described above fixed the problem, and updated it to version 10b.
The new flash version 10b has some new features, such as volume control, auto-updating, and several rendering options for those who may have a faster or slower computer/video card.
I found this works great for XP users but unsure of the Vista users. The process is the same  for Vista and the update should still work the same, as long as you run it as Administrator, I assume. I have this also posted on wwwdslreports.com at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22115254-IE-IE8-and-Adobe-Flash-Question and here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22361930-Adobe-Flash-Player-10-Fix-for-WinXP-IE 8-Firefox-ect. It appears to work for everyone so far. I have not heard of any problems from users with this problem running the RC (Release Canidate) for Windows 7 yet.
I hope this works to your benefit.
Please leave a reply to help Adobe and other users know if this fix worked for you or not. If not, please explain what you did, and the effects your seeing, including operating system, site of the flash file trying to view, browser type (ex. IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, Opera, ect.), and I will try to help you as best I can.
(I would strongly recommend those not using IE8, or Firefox 3.5, get the updated versions)
If your looking for uninstallers go to this site: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
If your looking for a true full install, you can download this developer version for Windows and Mac: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flash_player_update2_flash10.zi p (44MB) (If you download this, I would recommend you still follow my instructions for the Flash Utility before restarting your computer.)

I would recommend all users having problems try the above solution first.
I have posted this on a couple of websites, and so far it has fixed everyones problems.
Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 has Adobe Flash Player coding built into the browser so that it not only loads faster but works better.
You still need to have the Adobe ActiveX plug-in and Adobe Flash Player for both browsers.
I would also recommend you download Shockwave Player 11.
IE8 has tried this as well, but it still has a couple bugs in it.
If you have IE8 or FireFox 3.5 Beta 4, and you are still having problems, then I recommend that you go to www.windowsupdate.com and get all of the latest updates (including SP3), then try this fix again.
Your auto-updater built into windows (If you even have it on) doesn't always pull down every update available for your computer. It only pulls down the manditory ones.
Sometimes you HAVE to go to the website and manually get them yourself. I recommend when you go to the website, you click on custom install and pick every last one of them to install, which includes, hardware and software fixes for your computer.
What a lot of people don't know is that when you have installed and tried all of the recommended fixes that Adobe gives you, and it still doesn't work, is that you are having registry conflicts within your Operating System (OS ex. WinXP, Vista, Linux, ect.), and that it is not the Adobe software at all.
Those are usually repaired by making sure your computer stays up to date.
The fact is the computer world is changing so rapidly that everyone can't keep up. You have to check for updates weekly.
If you fall behind on those updates, then you start having problems with your computer and/or software.
One problem then can turn into many and people get frustrated when something all the sudden just quits working.
Take a day or two at least once a month, and make sure you update and maintain your computer.
This includes disk defragmenting, disk cleanup, and making sure you have all the lastest updates.
You can get to Disk Defrag, and Disk Cleanup by going to Start, All Programs, Accessories, then to System Tools.
I would do Disk Cleanup first, then Defrag.
I hope you take this advise into consideration, and that it is very helpful for you.
If you find this useful, please come back and reply to this forum, and let everyone know so that others will be encouraged to do this.
Thanks and goodluck, from another user like you.

Hi ol, I would go to Tools, click on Internet Options and clear the Temp files. Delete Cookies, Delete Files, including the off line content. I would do this using all accounts. Also check the history files while you are there and delete those also unless you have done so recently.
What version of Flash Player do you have Installed?
Do you use any adblock or pop up blocker software?

  • Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.81) does not support Android 4.3?

Tried to install Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.81) on a device with Android 4.3, but failed to execute... Please help.

There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player (since June 2012). Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both available in the GooglePlay store. These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.
Note: You'll see loads of articles on "sideloading" Flash Player for Android. NEITHER Adobe nor Android support this method of installing and you're on your own if you go that route. The alternate browsers are your best bet.

  • New flash player not working for all users

I have Flash 10.0.22.87 installed on a freshly built Citrix 4.5 PS.  When the administrator is signed in, everything works just fine.  When my users sign in, they navigate to a webpage that requires flash and it either tells them that Flash is not installed or it prompts them to install (but does nothing when you tell it to).
Did flash player become profile specific with this new release?  I have 10.0.12.36 and 9.0.115.0 on my other Citrix servers and they work without issue for all users.  I've tried uninstalling with the utility I downloaded from adobe.com and re-installing with the offline activeX control.  I've played with the security settings opening thing wide open and it still does not work.  There is no different software between the problem server and the other Citrix servers other than this version of Flash.
    Any suggestions?  Thanks in Advance
    Linc

I am experiencing the same problem on my LAN.  Administrator account the app works fine, end users sign in with non admin accounts and it will not work.
I spent some time reading online and found the following instructions on the NET.  I tried them and I thought it worked because I was able to log on as a non admin user test account and the flash player worked just fine.
    Log in as Admin
    2. Download the following zip file from here:
    www.supportflash.com/reset_all.zip
    3. Unzip this folder onto your desktop.
    4. Drag both files ‘reset_min_all.cmd’ and
    ‘subinacl.exe’ to your
    desktop.
    5. Run the reset_min_all.cmd file.
    6. It will open a DOS like terminal and start
    running through registry
    keys.
    7. When it is finished it will say “press any key
    to continue”.
    8. At this point you can install the latest Flash
    Player:
    for Internet Explorer:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/ts/documents/tn_19166/Install_F
    lash_Player_9_ActiveX.zip
    other browsers:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
    9. Check that Flash Player is working for the
    Admin.
    10. Check that Flash Player is working as the
    other 2 users.
I hope this information helps. Feel free to reply
    if you need further
assistance on the issue discussed here or file
a new case if you want to
report a new issue in the Support Portal:
I also found 6 different versions of Version 8 that supposedly does not require Admin priveleges but it does.  Back to the drawing board.

  • Flash Player 10.3 for IE9 (64-bit)

    Hello,
Believe it or not I am running Flash Player 10.3.162.28 in my final version of IE9 (64-bit).  It works PERFECTLY.  LOL.  What's the story behind this version, does anyone happen to know?
I got it from the Flash Player Square site back in September or October 2010 and then the releases for 64-bit were removed, leaving me high and dry.  I am running the proper 10.2 version in my IE9 32-bit, but that doesn't have anything to do with the 64-bit version.
Does anyone have a clue, because I don't.  LOL.
Should I just leave it alone?
    Thanks!

Hi, I think it's helpful to understand that the Square Flash Player for 64bit browsers ONLY and yes it's still a "beta".
Now the 10.3 that you have is also a beta, and I think it's for a 32bit browser with certain new features. I haven't had time
to read all of the info(plan to) but I didn't see yet that it is even supposed to work in the 64bit browsers. That would be confusing as that is what the Square is for.
While this is a beta release of Flash Player 10.3 for desktop operating systems only, we are planning to release Flash Player 10.3 for mobile and the next version of AIR and AIR SDK for desktop and mobile soon. (That's interesting!)
Well I just went to find out and here is this:
When will Adobe Flash Player support 64-bit operating systems and browsers?
Flash Player 10.3 will not have 64-bit support. Support for 64-bit operating systems and web browsers on Linux, Mac OS, and Windows is currently available in the Flash Player "Square" preview release on Adobe Labs. Developers can use the "Square" preview with the current Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 9 beta. Availability of 64-bit support in a publically available release for consumers will be announced at a later date.
It's confusing, but there is only one Flash Player that supports the 64bit browser and that is Square.
The 10.2 is for 32bit or 64bit Operating Systems but only works with the 32bit browsers.
The 10.3 is a version that is in beta and will be shipped, but it appears it will be only for DESKTOPS.
If the 10.3 is working fine for you, I'd keep it. Are you sure IE9 that you have is a 64bit? I wasn't aware of that at all.
Well, hope I haven't confused you in trying to explain this
    Hope this message goes thru.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 Fix for Vista & XP

A possible fix for users wanting to get Flash Player 10 fixed
and running on Windows XP and Vista.
    See here for details:
    www.thetechangel.com/blogberry/2008/10/adobe-flash-player-10-fix-for-vista-xp/

  • Flash Player 10.1 for Linux Debian 64bits

    Hello
I am a Debian Lenny 64bits user and I trying to install flash player 10.1 or something that can play the flash files in webpages, my web browser is "Iceweasel", the default browser in Debian linux, It's based in Mozilla Firefox code.
I can't configure the flash player, I'm really desesperate.
In the Downloads section of Adobe's website there arent any version for 64bits debian based linux (or I can't found It).
I have searched in forums.adobe.com and other forums but the solutions that I have found don't work or the browser simply crashes.
I tryed to install flash player 10.1 for i386 ubuntu (debian based) architecture with the ia32-libs and the workaround emulation but It didn't work either.
The open source swf players dont play the version 10 files.
Somebody knows how to install adobe flash player 10.1 in a 64bits Debian based system or how can I do to view correctly the flash contents in web pages without installs windows or 32bits linux? (I need this 64bits Debian system for my job)
Why Adobe compiles the 32bits debian package and don't compiles the 64bits? however Adobe compiles native 64bits versions for private operating systems like Microsoft or MacOS. I think that Adobe must be renewed in this topic (or disclose the source code and don't make monopoly).
    PD: sorry for my English

I have an embedded ati x1250 in an asus m2a-vm motherboard, I bought this motherboard because in that moment asus gave full support in 64bits linux debian based systems.
At this moment asus and amd only provides full support for this chipset on 64bits red-hat based linux and de source code produces error dependences in debian linux, I am using the fglrx that provides debian linux but It don't works correctly and the 3D sometimes crashes the x window system.
