Is there shortcut key to go straight to the "End" or "Home" just like I'd do in my PC? I'm a new user to Mac and I have scroll all the way down or up because I can't find an answer to this question

i believe it's fn-page down for "end"
fn-page up for "home"

ok, I found the keyboard viewer, it only shows the traditional symbol 'return'. something like a sideway u-turn continued with the arrow under. This is the Canadian or US keyboard.

If you type "begin" into the search of keycommands you'll find it. You can also enable a button in the control bar area.

Why is there several seconds of black running time at the end of the videos I am producing in Final Cut Pro X? There is no gap or effect ant the end of the project.

At the end of some of my projects the cursor runs over the end of the project for app. 3 seconds. When rendering the project Final Cut Pro X adds app. 3 seconds of black to the video. There is no effect or gap or something else at the end of the project.

The easiest way to do this is with Object Styles.
You can even set the Width of your text frame - and set the first baseline - which would speed things up for you immensely.
Here I've made an example of what I mean - check out the Object Style called "Text"

The other thing you can do is assign a Keyboard Shortcut to almost everything in indesign (Bar a few things)
Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts
You can then Assign a Shortcut to your Paragraph Style - effectively you could have something Like CTRL ALT 1 for Clear Overrides, and CTRL ALT 2 for the Paragraph Style you want to apply.

You can try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that film and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).

I have found the solution for myself for the above. I use a specific scripting program which is accessed by Control A. To pause it, you need to use Control B. not sure if this would work for any other application but it resolves my dilemma after hours of trying!

Brightness shortcut keys not working in Windows 8 or 8.1

I'm no longer able to use the brightness shortcut keys after I've installed the Lenovo power management tool in Windows 8 on a Ideapad U300s.
When the Lenovo power management tool is NOT installed on the system, pressing the shortcut keys brings up the Windows UI in the upper left hand corner of the screen and the display bridghness is adjusted accordingly.
However, as soon as the Lenov PM software is installed, the Windows brightness indicator shows up ONCE and I can no longer adjust the brightness with the shortcut buttons.

At the moment, there aren't any Boot Camp drivers ready for Windows 8, so it's normal that you have problems. Wait until Apple updates Boot Camp drivers, normally with a OS X update

Establishing new shortcut keys WITH coordinate values

I don't know if it's possible, but I am trying to make a shortcut key that will let me move a text box to a specific place. I have a bunch of text boxes on each page, and I want to move each one to a specific area. Going to the transform window and entering the X and Y coordinates is time consuming, so I would like to make shortcut keys I could use for the text boxes. I've looked at the shortcut keys and couldn't find a place where I could enter X and Y coordinates.
Unfortunately when I started out on this project, I didn't know much about InDesign and I disassociated all the text boxes from the master page (yup, went and did it over the course of 2 hours, boy do I regret that now!) otherwise I'd just move the boxes on the master page.
For example, I'd like to move a box from it's current position to
X: 23.44 mm
Y; 243.00 mm
Or, if there is an easier way to do this without using shortcut keys, I'd appreciate any help.

I still get an error message. I copied Gerald's script exactly as it appears above, and the error message says "bad argument move" line 2.
Sorry to not get this, but I really have no idea how the script Gerald gave me should appear. Should the entire thing be on one line, should the spaces appear exactly as he has them??? I copied and pasted it in just as it appears below - the same form as above:

Adobe Captivate 8 - How to Assign Custom Shortcut Key

I want to switch between the Film Strip view and the Master Slide view quickly. To show/hide the Film Strip there is a default shortcut key CTRL+ALT+B. For the Master Slide there is none.
Is there a way to assign a custom shortcut key to toggle Master Slide view?

I wonder why the lack of support for custom shortcuts keys does NOT surprise me. In overall, shortcut keys are typical and always required in expert applications.
Anyway, thanks for the tip. I noticed that keeping a number of panels ON slows down the performance so toggling between them ad-hoc might mitigate users frustration.
Again...fruit for thought.

Disable shortcut keys

I am developing training for an application that uses the
shortcut key F5. When I assign the key to a button, the published
trainer does not perform the action of the button, but rewinds and
starts over. Is this a Captivate shortcut or an IE shortcut? Can I
reassign it?

F5 is the browser shortcut key for "Refresh" or "Reload".
I don't know that you're going to get around this one.
There's a handful of keys that cannot be overridden in the browser,
and I believe F5 is one of them.
You may have to go with the "We cannot simulate this in the
tutorial so we'll do it for you" approach. Others in this forum
have suggested inserting a graphic of a set of keyboard keys and
having the user click the correct key, so that might also be an
acceptable workaround.

Can I use Esc as a shortcut key?

I'm using Captivate 4 to publish .exe files. The software that I'm simulating uses the Esc key as a keyboard alternative to having to click the Back button on screen with your mouse. I create the click boxes fine, and can select Esc as the shortcut key with no problem. The problem comes in both preview and in the published .exe - if the user uses the Esc key, it escapes them from the program! (I have other click boxes with function keys as the shortcuts and they work, so I'm fairly certain I'm doing it right.)
Is there a way to use Esc as a shortcut key?
If it makes a difference, the files will ultimately be published to an LMS... I'm just publishing as .exe for review until the new LMS is up and running.

Hi there
As you have seen, Esc is the keystroke to close an EXE file. When you publish to SWF for insertion into the LMS it should work though.

Is it possible to use shortcut keys in VC apps???

I'm really struggling to understand whether or not it is possible to use shortcut keys (via keyboard) instead of the mouse (Click on an action button) for user actions to be submitted within a Visual Composer model I have created. I'd apprecaite your help on this. Thanks in advance

Hi,
there are no shortcut keys available in Visual Composer. You can not define an event onkey... as you may know from other development environments like .NET and so on. But I think this is ok, because VC is a tool for BPX. It should be simple for BPX, because they aren't developers. When I think about Web Dynpro there are also no shortcut available only onEnter e.g. for a input field. So when you need shortcuts I think you have to use another environment as I mentioned like .NET.
I think this isn't the answer you wanted to hear, but I'm sorry this isn't possible.

To capture the entire screen to an image, use the key combination ⌘ shift 3.
To capture a selection rectangle, ⌘ shift 4.
To capture the frontmost window, ⌘ shift 4 and then press the space bar.
The screen grab will appear on your Desktop. Open it in Preview or your favourite image editing software, and print in the usual manner.
