Is there something inbetween CD-ROM and FULL QUALITY??
When it's time to share my movie, is there something inbetween CD-ROM and FULL QUALITY? CD-ROM is 163 MB and FULL QUALITY is 6 GB. I know I can choose EXPERT SETTINGS, but I always get a huge file and would like to know if anyone out there knows of a good setting in Expert Setting that isn't as big as FULL QUALITY but is better than the CD-ROM setting.

You don't want viewers trying to download a 6GB file. It's (.dv) not for Web use.
You would probably be best with a 320X240 .mov file as they will fit the page content of a blog better than a 640X480 size and will also be about 4 times smaller in file size.
Make a one minute "Full Quality QuickTime" (.dv) from your current Project. Use a scene that has medium amount of video motion.
Use that .dv file in a new "test" iMovie Project.
Export using Expert Settings
Choose Movie to QuickTime Movie
Click the "Options" button and choose H.264 Video codec and AAC audio
Adjust the data rate and the audio quality and export 4 different files using slightly different settings
Compare these new files using QuickTime Player
You'll quickly figure out what settings work best for your file. Compare file size to video and audio quality. Web viewers are used to low quality video (YouTube as proof) and really like smaller file sizes over quality.
You could continue testing using MPEG-4 Video codec (instead of H.264) as it has a higher installed user base so more viewers could view your file.

Is there something wrong with Quicktime and TIFFs?
I've been trying to see with Firefox the TIFF images of patents at the USPTO site and I can't. The browser advises me to install the missing plug-in although Quicktime is already installed. I wonder if it's a Quicktime problem or a Firefox one. I have a reason to believe there's something wrong with Quicktime though. Read on to see why.
On my system the *TIFF Image Test* (from mozdev.org) fails although I have the latest Quicktime plug-in. This happens regardless of the browser I use, all latest editions: Firefox 3.6, Internet Explorer 8 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions) and Chrome 4. All seem to fail to recognize the presence of the installed Quicktime although my Windows OS is set to open TIF/TIFF files with Quicktime/PictureViewer.
Running about:plugins on my Firefox does show the Quicktime plug-in for a variety of files but NOT for opening embedded TIF/TIFFs. Also, when I open *Tools -> Options -> Applications* I see there is no registered handler for TIF/TIFFs. They don't appear on the known Content Types.
Is there something wrong with the installation of Quicktime? I can see USPTO TIFF images only with Safari which appears to have an integrated TIFF viewer. I haven't tried to install alternatiff or any other alternative TIFF handler.DocBAZ,
I tried to visit the "test site" above. I'm not really sure it's an embedded image on a HTML page because I get a Firefox download window and a suggestion to open it with PictureViewer, which is the expected behavior for downloadable images. The mozdev.org test page on the other hand had an embedded image that needed the plugin, which is what is bugging me.

Indeed the changes I made were in the QuickTime preferences, not PictureViewer which has no settings to change. And yes, Windows 7 has a unique place to deal with file types and MIME settings.

my computer would crash, sometimes it'd just sync a couple random songs, sometimes i'd get error -50, somtimes a different message that said the disk could not be read or written to.....
it worked perfectly for me!make sure to follow the directions. it's easy and resolves many Windows XP problems related to ipods. for more info try microsoft help and support and just serch for ipod. it list a bit more info there. it doesn't say anything about reinstalling the apple software, but just to be thorough i unistalled itunes and quicktime before anything just to start with a clean slate, then reinstalled them from my ipod disk after the restart. then i downloaded all the updates from apple. my ipod has never worked better. good luck. theres no link to the page just search for ipod in windows help and support for exact text...i am not a computer wiz...like our boys at apple i am asing a question and saying what i've tried, i dont understand why it works but, sweet, it worked for me and there must be a reason. it solved every problem i've posted in

Share iMovie Full Quality lost option
I'm trying to share an iMovie project to iDVD and full quality is not an option. I chose share: Media Browser, Large. All my text is now blurry in iDVD and my photo quality is real fuzzy. How do I get the quality I have in iMovie into iDvd? I see no options. Help!
Another thing is that you must get your video into your project in a Loss Less format. IMove 8 defaults to an .mp4 which is a compressed format. I don't know how to set it to dv or a Loss Less format like in IMovie 6. I would hope there is a way, please post if you find out. Unless you Project is created with a Loss Less / dv format professional or not you DVD will be degraded.

I need to upload it but my video uploading website doesn't accept dv files. And I need the file in full quality.Yes, just export as QuickTime in a .mov wrapper with the DV codec and take care to use the correct resolution, DV-codec subtype, audio sampling rate, and aspect ratio. Then the quality will be the same as in a plain .dv stream (that forces those settings to the correct values).
...but DV is BIG, about 200 MB/minute. Do you really want to upload that??
H.264 would be a good quality and a more compressed format. -
Even when I charge my Mac Pro to the full bar, the battery seems to be drained even when I am not using it. Example, after charging it full, i switched it on the next day and its 79% battery left. Is there something wrong? help please
Assuming you are disconnecting from line power, when you say switched on, do you mean it was shutdown or in sleep mode? If sleep mode the battery will still drain because sleep still keeps some things active and the battery does drain a little. However, to go from 100% to 79% charge overnight is a bit excessive in sleep mode. Unless you have some processes set to activate over night by the cron file and do things like backup the system.
What are the statistics on the battery, the apple in the upper left corner, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power...things like battery Condition, Capacity, remaining charge, voltage, current. -
My MacBook Pro gets really hot when I open a video file of any kind and the video starts lagging and the image fades away, also with anything that starts the fan. Is extremely hot on the left upper corner. Is there something I can do about it?

I have been trying to get the full version of lightroom after using a trial version but it says something about "GB" ? And i need to log into different account or set up a new one? Please help?

On my ipad 2 I can't "see" the hundreds of spoken audio tracks that are in my itunes and on my ipod touch. Is there something I didn't do during sync up? The tracks are from voice recordings that were downloaded from an extrernal drive and weren't necessarily tagged as spoken audio. Do I need to go back into itunes and relabel these tracks so they will show up on my ipad2?

The company I work for has given me an iPhone, but I haven't been able to download any apps. I've created an apple ID account, it claimed that it had been verified, but everytime I go to download something, it verifies again and claims there's an error. I've tried this now with 3 different emails, and the message reads: go to the iTunes support page. I've emailed Apple, and they were extremely unhelpful. I was given the most vague responses by Bidyut from the iTunes Store Customer service team. I would just like to be able to use this phone since I'm paying for it.
It might be helpful if you told us exactly what the error was... If you don't give us specifics, the best you're going to get is vague responses.

I turned of iMessage and now I want it back on and it's not working, I have changed my password and now I don't know what to do. Is there something obvious I am doing wrong? I have done this on both of my iPads and it hasn't let me go back on to iMessage on either of them.

When I call someone using FaceTime from my mac, they can see me but not hear me. Is there something I need to do to make this happen? I also have an iPad 2 and FaceTime works great on it if I call somebody. Why no sound from my mac FaceTime using a mac pro and isight camera, mike combo.

Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume) or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call. -
There is always a blue screen appears after the Apple logo during the booting process. And then everything is back to normal. What is this thing? Is there something wrong with my screen or something?
