Is there way to fix a stuck home button?  It simply doesn't move.

My son's iPod home button became stuck last night.  It cannot be pressed.  Can it be fixed that anyone is aware of, or do we simply need to purchase a new one?

  • IDEA 4 SIMPLE FIRMWARE FIX FOR BROKEN HOME BUTTONS!! SEND TO APPLE FEEDBACK

Apple, as you know many people have had problems with their home buttons on their ipod touches and iphones. I have figured out a simple fix to broken home buttons. Release a new firmware that makes it so if you double click the power button twice in quick succession it does the same as clicking the home button.I have never heard of people having trouble with their power button so this would be perfect. Please make this happen.

  • I have an iPod classic and I accidently disconnected just before it was okay to disconnect. I have had this happen before and the only way to fix it was to take it into an apple store. Is there any way to fix it from home?

I have had this happen before. However, there was a moment when my computer froze and a series of thoughts happened and things happened with my computer. I thought for some reason that with my computer freezing right after I connected my iPod that my computer didn't recognize the fact that my iPod was connected. So I know what needs to be done to fix this porblem. My question is can I fix this at home or do I need to go into an Apple store to get it fixed? When this happened before, I had tried a couple different things before taking it in and nothing had worked.

You need a computer with iTunes and an internet connection
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup (if you have one) see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My iPod touch is frozen/not "touching" is there ANY way to fix this at home

I have a 2nd Gen 16G iPod touch not purchased at an apple store. I have had it literally a month, and I was walking home from work the other day turned it on, and went to "slide to unlock". . . And it wouldn't work. If I double click home I can kind of work the music, but only the volume and forward. Slide to power off, slide to unlock and any other touch function is unavailable. I plan to go to an Apple store tuesday but seeing as I have not dropped, scrathed or damaged my ipod in anyway I am confused as to how to explain that it just happened... I am a student and would prefer to not spend any more money. I have restored and reset it. ANY SUGGESTIONS??!!!

You do have a warranty on you iPod for 1 year. So you would not have to pay for it. Umm let me think... did you try holding down the sleep and home button. Or going on to your computer and restoring the original settings. Do you have a lot of apps on there. I don't no if that would slow it down or make it not work but I am just trying to help. I would take it into an apple expert. Good Luck!

  • Any way to fix a stuck pixel?

I have a 5530 with one stuck pixel. Not dead. Glows white, so I know its alive. Is there any way to fix it, or should I bother complaining about it to the dealer? It really doesn't bother me much, because it is in the edge of the screen and normally I do not notice it, but I do know it is there, so I am asking for advice.
    Thanks.

  • I just changed over from Safari, and Firefox is incredibly slow! Are there ways to fix this?

It's taking 30 to 60 seconds for Firefox to open any page. I just changed over from Safari, and this is about 10 times slower than Safari. Are there ways to speed up opening pages? I can't keep Firefox as my browser if it continues to be this slow. I have a Mac Mini, with Mac OS X as my operating system.

You can try to disable IPv6.

If you're in the US, find a service provider (Apple store or AASP) near you at
    http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service/
Apple will replace it for no cost if it's covered. If it's not then it will cost  $149 (8GB) $199 (16GB) or $249 (32GB to replace it, depending on the medel.

  • Stuck Home Button on iPod 4

My Home button is stuck and unresponsive. It's been a little sticky and slightly unresponsive all this year but now it just won't do anything. It was fine Friday but Saturday morning (today), it was unresponsive. I'm going to Apple tomorrow and hopefully won't have to rip one of their "geniuses" a new one for being a useless hipster (I apologize for the rant). If I have to send it in, how much will it be? I already dropped $200 for this thing and I know the warranty is already out. I have tried other simple fixes that are supposed to help make it at the very least responsive (open iOS app, hold power & Home, etc) but they didn't work. Any estimates on the cost of sending it in? And does anyone know of a possible company that could do it cheaper (in the Atlanta area)? So frustrated by this.
