Is this a bug or did I craft this incorrectly?

Is this a bug? It seems as if when I have installed adobe
with IE7 it renders the text in this file in such a way that it is
truncated?

If it is not a bug can someone educate me how this should be
fixed? and also why it would render improperly from one browser to

Did you use dynamic text for this? It looks like you may need
to embed the font. Alternatively, and because it seems pointless
using dynamic text there, use static text. - And if you want to be
ultra sure, once you're happy with your text, right-click it, break
apart until the text is a series of shapes.
Essentially it looks as though the incorrect pic is
displaying the text with device fonts and not your desired
'impact'? font.

Unwanted deleting from server - is this a bug?

I converted to Apple Mail from Eudora with 10.4 and I'm very frustrated with how it's handling my POP server. I have the options set to "delete mail when moved from inbox" which is a great setting. Only problem is, it has a mind of it's own! If I leave the mail in my inbox, sometimes it deletes from the server and sometimes it doesn't. I check mail every 15 min so that is not the problem. There is no way to know from Mail whether it has been deleted like there is in Eudora and this is a seriously missing feature for people who manage email in multiple places.
So is this a bug? Has anyone had this consistently work for them? I never had a problem with Eudora and I'm tempted to go back.

I was wondering if I was the only one having problems with this. Obviously not. This problem only started occuring recently, perhaps 4-12 months ago. Previously it was very reliable in removing mail from the server when the settings were to remove, and leaving those emails not moved from the Inbox.
But lately it has a mind of its own as one person said. You cannot count on it either leaving email on the server (if not moved from the inbox) or removing it if moved. Completely inconsistent.
One thing has also surfaced with the latest versions of Mail -- if you are getting mail while traveling using hotel's wireless, DSL, cable, etc. connections, very often it will not delete mail from the server even though you have it set to remove immediately.
Again, this was never a problem back a few months ago. It has just cropped up sometime over the last few months.
It sure does need fixing because I have lost valuable emails and I have also ended up with a clogged server from tons of spam never deleted.

i honestly do not know. this is really frustrating. I am a simple user who mostly just call and text.. i tried to follow the apple instructions in restoring iphones but some time during the process.. my phone restarts and loses the itunes connection symbol and displays the usual apple icon and then proceeds to opening the main page..

Concerning Error Message: You do not have enough Named User Licenses to make this user a named user. You have 55 Named User Licenses. (FWB 00013)
This is the error message she was receiving when trying to change an
existing user from Concurrent to Named under the Connection Type on the
Properties panel.
The current workaround was to delete the existing Concurrent user, then re-add the same user as Named.
She have been going through this process of deleting existing users, and then
re-adding them as Named and it was working okay. Then, it stopped
working and she started getting the same FWB 00013 error message again.
She was not able to create any Named users now. Basically, the workaround
worked for a while - then stopped working.
She currently has a total of 88 users. 21 of them are named. 67 of them
are Concurrent. She is licensed for 55 Named.
Once again, the system thinks she has 55 users marked as Named. But
there are only 21 marked as Named.
She did notice that as she was going through all of her existing list of
users, in alphabetical order, she was opening the Properties tab and
checking the Named/Concurrent status - as she got to the 55th user in the
list that is when she started getting the error message again.
Is this a bug with BoEdge3.1?
And I got an ADAPT01194692.
I am not sure that Is the ADAPT related to this issue.

Is this a bug in the header?

I searched the forum for something on this, but I couldn't find anything. Here are the steps to recreate the problem:
1) Create a Welcome page.
2) Select "Show Layout" from the View Menu.
3) On the Page palette of the Inspector, create a 200 pixel header.
4) Place the Title text box in the header.
5) Try to move it out of the header.
It seems that objects get "stuck" in the header, at least for me. I'm hoping I did something wrong because I will have to scrap some pages if not. The real problem is not the getting permanent items, like the Title text box, stuck in the header, but an associated bug. I have found that text boxes in the body of the page now add extra blank space at the bottom of the text box, dependent upon the number of paragraphs. Having no header, or having it free of certain objects, solves this problem.
Could someone else try this before I report it as a bug?

Is this a bug for 10.3.9 installation

Hi everyone especially mac experts
This is my first visit to this forum. I have been using my Powerbook g4 12 inch for 3 - 4 years, never had any problem til now!!
My mac has problem all the sudden, got hacked or something, I dont know, I cannot even restart, it hung since apple logo appear, only way is insert install disc + press C with only one option it allowed me to do "erase and install" no backup no upgrade!!!!
Anyway, that is not my question, it just a whining, my question is when i tried to reinstall with my installation CD that came with my powerbook and/or panther CD with 3 blacks and 1 codeX, which I got it when I was a member of developer connect. The series of problem are as follow
1. during installation of CD2, i got installation failure with error messages said some packages cannot install!!!
2. after i ignore (1), by click "quit" which is only one option anyway, os started to ask me to fill in all information include setting user name and password for admin account. so i did. Then I start to do "software update", and it failed to update/install QuickTime 7.x.x. Then i tried to download only, unpackage and install myself, it has the same results
3. From (2) i search solution on mac website by using winXP, and found that i have to remove some packages in /Library/../receipts/ and reinsert CD 2 again to reinstall, cool.. i will give it a shot. Unfortunately, it asked for admin password and i could not give a correct password, but i remember and have it written down on a paper. Then i check at Preference->account->admin and see it shows 7 digits or * instead of 9 digits. I wonder that someone might hacked into my computer and change it.
Therefore, I decide to reinstall again, this time, i spent more time by include erase disk with option "write zero to disk" and no network connection to make sure there is no trace from hacker! Unfortunately, I got the same problem from (1) to (3) without update software d/l. therefore, i believe (3)is a bug it is obvious from my observation, if i cannot solve (3) i will not be able to solve (1) and (2), and i will not have my mac back to work
Please give me advice, i already lost all my data and spent my weekend trying to fix these problems, which non can be fixed (yet)

I honestly dont know anything about this "Repair Permissions" from the name, i though it is a verification of authentication to repair OS or some kind of credential issue, and since i m admin user then there is no point to verify it, i should be allowed to do so. Again it is my first time to do this thing in 3 - 4 years of using panther, every time i update software i never ever do this! If this step is essential for every update and installation why dont apple put them as one of TODO step during the processes (as licensing agreement) instead of keep them as an option (just my thought) Anyway, I m glad u tell me about it, and i will give it a shot tonight.

I'm brand new to JavaFX, so I'm probably misunderstanding something. I've searched the web looking for information concerning it, but since it involves the 'new' operator, it's hard to filter down.
Anyhow, here is the problem:
I'm getting different results when I instantiate an object
using the 'new' operator vs. the declaring it the more
accepted JavaFX way.
This is how I found the "problem".
In order to learn how to program in JavaFX, I found a simple game from the Internet, "Blasteroids", to look at (http://www.remwebdevelopment.com/dev/a41/Programming-Games-in-JavaFX-Part-1.html). I copied and pasted this into:
NetBeans IDE 6.9 (Build 201006101454)
JavaFX 1.3 and got the game to work.
In playing around with it, I converted instantiating an object from the "normal" way:

When I did this conversion, the ship would show up, but the asteroids were gone. Actually, I think they were invisible because every once and a while, my ship would "blow up" and get reset to it's starting position. I tried adding:
a.visible = true;
But that didn't help.
Indecently, I did the same thing with defining the "Stage" using a new operator, and got differing results:
1. the window would open in the bottom right of my screen (vs filling up
most of my screen. I would have to drag it up to play.
2. it had a regular windows border with the minimize, maximize, close
buttons in the top right (vs. a non-movable, border less window with no
maximize, minimize, close buttons.)
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

I suspect you've run into bugs in the Blasteroids program and possibly in Stage in the JavaFX runtime.
For simple cases one would think there should be no difference between this:

}and this:
var so = SomeObject { }; // or var so = new SomeObject();
so.a = 1;
so.b = 2;
so.c = 3;However, these cases do run through different code paths. In the first case, the init-block of SomeObject sees all the values provided by the caller. In the second case, the triggers on the a, b, and c variables would have to modify the internal state of the object appropriately. If the object has a lot of complex state, the result at the end of setting the three variables (and running their triggers) might not be identical to the object literal after initialization. This is most likely a bug. If an object isn't prepared to have its state variables modified after initialization, it should make them public-init instead of public.
Depending on the object, though, initializing things via an object literal vs. setting variables after initialization might actually have different semantics. This seems to be the case with Stage. The Stage's size is established by its contents at initialization time, and its location at initialization time is determined by using its contents' size and the screen size to center the Stage on the screen. If you create the Stage empty, and then later add contents, the sizing/centering calculations will be based on an empty Stage and will thus give a different result.
Using the object literal technique is idiomatic JavaFX Script, and it's probably more efficient than setting variables after initialization, so I'd recommend sticking with object literals.

When I use Firefox to monitor changes I do to HTML files locally, it does not show changes to images unless I restart the browser. Is this a bug?

I have the local and the remote versions of a page open in two tabs. I change one of the images (keeping the same name in the HTML) and upload the changed image. The tab that shows the remote page only takes a refresh to show the change. The tab showing the local page not. I have tried opening it in a new window but it still does not change. Only if I restart Firefox does it show the change. Why? Is this a bug?

grantheaslip's suggestion doesn't work for me; no change at all. (Thanks anyway.) Any other ideas? Is there another way to "hard" refresh? I don't see anything in the menu.
Also, it seems like this is a very recent problem. I thought in the past that a regular refresh did the job.

Is this a bug for drop down box in DS1.3?

I found that if there were many items (e.g. 50), when I clicked the arrow of the drop down box, it showed the items and then disappeared all the items except "ALL". I have to use "F4" key to display all the items and use scroll bar to show the items.
It is OK when there are few items and no scroll appears in the list.
Did anybody meet with the same problem?

OBIEE 10G Total by in answers not correct for count distinct fields. Is this a bug?

For example:
Sales fact has receipt no and line no as key. It has data like:
receipt no, line no, value
1, 1, 30
1, 2, 40
2, 1, 10
2, 2, 10
There is also a transaction field defined as count distinct of receipt no (in BMM)
In answers, I set to show Total.
without any filters:
receipt no, value, transactions
1, 70, 1
2, 20, 1
total: 90, 2
Transactions is 2, which is correct.
If apply filter of transaction value greater than 50.
Then transactions in total will still show 2
1, 70, 1
total: 70, 2
Is this a bug? It looks only SUM works no problem in the total by.

I did look at the physical query and saw how it calculated the Total transactions and it didn't take into account of the filter of transaction value greater than 50. Don't know why though. I don't know why you want to count line no. The result would be still 2.

How did I do THIS???

Somehow, and I've still not figured out what I did, or if this is a possible bug(and I was on the phone to an Apple Logic Tech, earlier today, for the better part of an hour, and he couldn't solve it), I managed to make, in the Inspector, on the right hand channel strip, the 'destination' strip, you'd call it, for most of its use,,,I managed to make everything above the part that reads 'In-Out' disappear. All of the insert slots just went walkabout. I was playing with synths last night, and using the Library to access the settings, and I'm suspecting that, or something that I inadvertantly did in 'environment,' but nothing I do can get these to show themselves again, to come back. The fader and pan work ok(I wouldn't use pan on that), but I had an EQ and a limiter and a comp, too, maybe, I forget,,,things you'd use on that strip. Oddest thing.
I did pitch a bunch of unused files associated with the tune, but, I did it 'in the bin' as advised by the manual(the big manual), and really don't see how doing that would make these insert slots disappear. They are also missing on the corresponding 'In-Out' channel strip in the mixer window.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for any assistance. I'm not so worried about damage to the tune, as I am that this might happen again, and for the fact I'm unable to figure out what caused it, and how to cure it.
Anyone have this happen to them? Should I re-install from the first disk, maybe? I'm a little chary of that. but others may know more about this. Screenset settings in subsequent new windows seem to have been affected, though they are properly intact in the window where the inserts are missing. Unless the screensets are template dependant, which they appear to be in some cases, I'm wondering if something is awry here, too. Of course, I'm keeping the
mystery project up, just so I can import the intact screenset settings from that one into others where I want the full nine that that window originally came with and still has. Most curious.
I realize that Logic Pro 7 users are used to only one window in the inspector, so this would be endemic to the new Logic Pro 8 only.

Before doing anything labor intensive, try removing the plist file for the Dock:
"/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist"
Then restart. See if things are back to normal.
