Is this a dice or is it just Gibberish?

I know this post must appear often, but im working on a school project and wanted to see if this Die i made will work in the boardgame i'm sapposed to create:

public class Die
     private int faceValue;
     private int sides;
     Die die = new Die( );
     public Die( )
           faceValue = 1;
           sides = numberOfSides;
         public int getSides( );
              return sides;
         int numberOfSides;
         public void setSides(int numberOfSides)
             numberOfSides = 6;
         public void rollDie( )
              double random = Math.random( );
              Random generator = new Random( );
                  faceValue = 1 + generator.nextInt(sides);
  }

i appologize for the last post, it was my first,
this is sapposed to be a game die to be use in a board game simulator i am creating. My teacher isnt extremely clear on assignments and i am not sure if this is sapposed to run on its own, (which it doesnt) or if it will just work when i use it for my game board,
