Is this a scam/phishing e-mail asking me to re-validate my contacts/calendar with my Google account?

Hi BB team,
I've received apparently a genuine e-mail from : [email protected] , advising me that I should to go into my e-mail account setting to re-validate my gmail account in order that it can synchronize again with my contacts and calendar. So far so good, I went into e-mail setup, and at the same time I went into the settings of my master google account in the browser, in order to get a new code/password to do the link through Chrome, so I did it and then I entered the new password in the e-mail setup of the phone and perfect...BUT seconds later, I received again from the same direction another email with this subject:
Gmail Authorization Required, with this subject:
For security reasons, Google requires you to authenticate [removed] with them at the following URL to allow syncing of your contact and calendar information:
[removed]
You have 60 minutes from the receipt of this message before the URL above expires.
If the URL expires you will have to disable and enable contacts and calendar from Email Setup on your BlackBerry Device to receive a new URL.

When I click that link, my smartphone's browser activated itself, showing me directly a google page with the two fields to fill: login and password. I don't know, maybe I'm a little paranoic with this weird mail, but I've never see this before, Blackberry doing security procedures through the browser, weird!
Is it secure? is a new procedure?

First, you should not post personal info like your email address. This is a public forum. I'm a user like you.
All I can say is what you describe is new to me. I see the BlackBerry,com domain in that link, but I don't understand it. I have received a message before, of course, to revalidate an email, but it was a simple matter of going into setup and entering the password for the email account.

The question mark means the computer cannot find a bootable volumes so can;t do anything, That, combined with annoying sounds, strongly suggests a failed hard drive.
You can ask a "genius" at an Apple Rtail Store to test it but I'm pretty sure the drive is kaput. I'm hoping you had your data backed up.

Consolidating E-Mail, Contacts & Calendars with MobileMe and Exchange

OK, now that I have upgraded the software on my iPhone and made my ActiveSync connection to Exchange, I am a little confused. My e-mail is syncing between my office Exchange account and my iPhone, but I need to consolidate the Contacts and Calendars. BTW, I also have a MobileMe account.
When I try to turn on syncing for Contacts and Calendars, I am told that my previous Contacts and Calendars will be deleted. Seems like I don't want to do this. When I look at my e-mail, I can choose to look at either my Mobile Me or my Exchange e-mail. Will I get the same effect with my Contacts and Calendars? Or will they all be consolidated into one? If it's the latter, how can I protect the hundreds of contacts and appointments I already had in my phone before I got to do any of this ActiveSync-ing with Exchange?
Not sure if that's clear... let me restate... What I need is one set of Contacts and Calendars. If I can't consolidate the Exchange and my current iPhone content into one, it's OK. But if I have to consolidate them, what can I do to protect the items I already have in my iPhone?
I'm just not getting the concept here....
Also, I had a dotMac account that is now a MobileMe account. Now my iPhone shows that I have three e-mail addresses (dotMac, MobileMe and Exchange). Can I delete the dotMac account or should I just leave them all in my phone?

Thanks for the information. We do have an OSS message open on this and they have as of yet not recommended any patches. I have also done a search and found nothing. Do you know how I can find that patch or perhaps the OSS note number? We will also update our OSS message.

After I downloaded Yosemite I can no longer send mail with my google account only receive mail

I installed Yosemite and I wish I had waited , I can now receive mail on my google account but can't send
I just get the drop down box with Google off line try another server
My laptop works fine but that still has maverick on it any help would be appreciated.
I have already deleted all my mail accounts and rebooted but no luck after reinstalling mail as per laptop installation

Well, it happened again.
This morning I was sending out a bunch of emails and around the 10th one they started kicking back.
This time I did not fool with any of the settings on my computer.
I turned off both the modem and router. Started them back up and the problem still exists.
The last time this happend, about a week ago, it started working again within an hour.
This problem ony crops up when I am sending many emails at the same time
Throughout the rest of the week it works fine.
This time I by-passed the router and the mail will go out.
So it looks like someting is going on with the router.
Whenver I hook the router back up, outgoing mail will not work.
It says it cannot send mail using my server.
I double checked all of my mail setings and nothing has changed
I also did a hard rest on the router, but it did not help.
Again this problem is with 2 computers.
I have an early version of Airport Extreme Model A1143.
It's around 5 years old.
Whenever I call my ISP they claim everything checks out on their end and they don't offer any help.
I am sure if I leave the router unplugged for a day or so, it will start working again.
Is there any way a router can break down and allow incoming mail and internet but not outgoing mail?
I am am at wits end with this problem.
I would be willing to go out and get the latest Airport Extreme if I knew for sure it would cure this problem.

I'd like to sync an iCal calendar with a Google calendar. Is this possible?

Is it possible to sync from iCal to Google Cal? I know you can do it from Google Cal to iCal, but does it work the other way?

Internet Accounts (Mail/Calendar) still not working with Google account

Half a year after the release of Mavericks, it's still not possible to use Apple Mail and Calendar with my Google account. There's always the same error message:
There was a problem setting up the account.
An unknown error occurred.
I don't understand why this problem couldn't be fixed yet.

I have the same setup and it works just fine.
Reboot into Safe Mode and try again. Post back with the result.

IOS 4.1 Contacts Sync With Any Mail server Annoying Bug

i saw there was already few people that notice this but today i found about this problem and it can be very annoying.
this information was checked on more then 20 devices , and the problem started only since 4.1 version (don't know about 4.0.2)
After you will set an Exchange/Zimbra/Open-Xchange or any other Mail server account , by default the IOS 4.1 will save the contacts in Iphone local Memory , this need to be change in the Settings to use the account you setup - otherwise new added contacts would not syncronize with your server and we all know that this can be very annoying to find out when you will change to new iphone or any other reason that will make you to reset your device and find out that all the new contacts vanished.
I hope that Apple will fix this in the next update because in previous versions i never bump into such problem .
I would like to know if there is any way to sync those new contacts (not by delete them and add them again) with the Server . because after setting up Exchange server there is no way to sync your Contacts with your PC.

I was so glad to get multiple Exchange account support with iOS 4. I have been synching with my work account (calendar, mail) and with my Google accounts (calendar, mail, contacts). After upgrading to iOS 4.1 three days ago, my Google accounts appear to be working fine but my work account refuses to connect to the Exchange server for calendar or mail.
My company forced a passcode when I originally added the account. For troubleshooting I removed the account and recreated it. The account verifies but never requires that I have a passcode. I then removed all of my Exchange accounts, restarted my phone and recreated my company Exchange account. Again, verifies without requiring a passcode, and neither my calendar nor my mail will connect - zero events, zero emails. My mail even proudly says it updated and shows the current time/date stamp - but nothing. When I upgraded to 4.02, I had to set up a passcode. I am highly suspicious that because 4.1 is not synching properly because it is not handshaking correctly regarding the security on the Exchange Server ... that is my guess. And I echo, IT NEEDS FIXED! I am screwed not being able to get my emails and calendar events on-the-fly.

Keeps asking for Google Account

I tried to take a speedtest (www.speedtest.net) and once I have logged in and press the "Take a Speed Test" button, it blinks and switches to "Add a Google Account" . I dont use Gmail...don't want to , is this required ? When I try to add the "Veetle Android App" I'm once again asked to add this "Google Account". Is this a requirement to run anything on my new phone. I have a hotmail account as well as a charter.net account. I don't want a Google,com account ! Appreciate any and all help

Yes, you can setup a account online on a PC and then log into that account on your device with the same information...

Mail 3.1 Linked To Exchange 2003 & Public Calendar Support

Not to sure if people have seen this yet but as of Mail 3.0 you can now see public calendars on an Exchange 2003 server as .ics files
All you have to do now is double click the .ics to open in iCal, is their a way to automate this so you don't have to double click the calendar files ?
I've tried Automator but this only record my actions and open up the same calendar event.

Apple mail asking for "update" of my credit card information. Could this be a fraud?

I received a mail from Apple, asking me to follow a link in order to update my information with Apple iTunes.
The mail looks very original and trustworthy, however, I don't understand what "account" I'm supposed to give my information to, nor do I recognise the email address being an apple customer service address, as it said: [email protected]
The link in this mail had the following address: apple.itunnes.tfain.com
In the left side of the form that also asked for details of name, address and credit card number, expery date, and security code, the following was stated below a red sign:

Due to recent updates we are asking many of our customers to confirm their information this is nothing to worry about.
