Is this beavior normal ?

Guys,
I have a question about DBA_ views owned by SYS. I have a situation.. ie.
1) When logged on to SQLPlus as user A, I can SELECT from SYS.DBA_USERS - this is because user A has the OEM_MONITOR role.
2) When logged on to SQLPlus as user A and trying to compile a PL/SQL procedure that references SYS.DBA_USERS, I get SYS.DBA_USERS table not found.
Is this a normal behavior ? Is this documented somewhere ? Please can you direct me to the document please ?
Many thanks.
Regards,
Ganesh

Is this a normal behavior ? yes. we can only build stored procedures (or views come to that) using privileges that have been granted to our user and not any just a role our user has rights on.
Is this documented somewhere ?yes.
Please can you direct me to the document please ?Sure. find out more.
Cheers, APC

If the SIM is out of your phone, find my phone needs a data connection, so could use wifi - IF in range of a wifi and one that it can join (ie. a known network or one that is wholly open so no login required).  Your phone could also simple be turned off, so not findable, or it may have been restored (plugged into iTunes and restored as new) again, making it permanently unfindable.  Honestly, for someone stealing an iPhone, this is likely the first thing they do - restore as new and it is theirs forever.
Find my iPhone is tied to the users iCloud account - the find function is part of the iCloud account's services and it communicates with the iCloud servers over a data connection - either wifi or 3G.
Have you set up your iCloud account on your replacement phone, and is it working properly on that phone?

  • Two phones ordered, only one shipped. The iPhone 6 has shipped with tracking number and charge to my card. iPhone 6 Plus has no information available, no one at CS can tell me if this is normal, if it is delayed, any info appreciated.

I placed an upgrade order for two phones, an iPhone 6 and 6plus.
I was in the Verizon shopping cart at 11:55 and checked out by 12:01 AM pacific time.
I do have my email confirmation for both phones with ship date 9/19
The iPhone 6 has shipped with tracking number and the charge to my card came through for the price of this phone.
There is no other information available - nothing on the status of the 6 Plus. Customer service doesn't know if this is normal or if my order went through, its really bad.
Any further information would be much appreciated.

I was just told by a Verizon sales rep that, when her team got in, when she checked the system at 3:03 (midnight+ 3 minutes)  all 6Plus had a back order date of October, and now its going into November even though the pre-order system was showing 9/19 - that all verizon iphone 6 plus had an instant sell out.
She had no additional information on my iPhone 6 plus, not even if there was a chance for it to ship out, when the back order date would be - no further information.
(A different rep I talked to said all iphone 6 plus pre orders had a ship date of October, all of them - I asked what Verizon is going to do when they advertised iphone 6 plus for 9/19 delivery and your telling me they never had any available - at this point he transferred me... *****)

  • CS6 - Can't draw multiple lines with the same starting point consecutively without an extended pause between strokes. Ruins hatching and writing certain letters ("i" "E" etc.). Is this a normal limitation of flash?

Question is in the title. I animate in a traditional style (frame-by-frame) and draw a lot. When I animated in photoshop, the only annoyance was that the interface was terrible in terms of animation flexibility, but performed so much better in terms of actually drawing the frames. I invested in flash because I've heard that it really speeds up the animation workflow, but I'm getting quite irritated by this bug. I never read about it in reviews, and it's not something that I've gotten results for by googling, so I'd really like to know. Is this a normal issue in flash? Or is this something that I can fix?  I've been trying to deal with it for a few weeks now but it's reaching a point where I just can't tolerate it anymore. I know I'm posting this in the CC community but I'd really really appreciate it if someone had a fix for this that I wasn't aware of, because otherwise I've wasted a lot of money.

Hi i received the nano 7th gen for Christmas and I only seem to get 5 hours of battery life. I use the Bluetooth and Nike app so I expect more drain on the battery.  But I got more time out of running with my iPhone. Does this sound normal? I thought I should get close to 30 hrs of just play time alone.
ALso, my wife got me the Belkin armband to run with the nano but I sweat through the band resulting in the back of the iPod to get wet. Surely this is not good. Anyone have a recommendation for an armband that keeps moisture away from the pod?

iPod Nano are small and they don't use Wi-Fi access so you get less power time on a Nano. As for iPhone, since you got apps, Wi-Fi + 3G access, and everything else, they give you more time so you can keep using. Nanos are ment to listen to music, listen to radio, view your photos, watch videos (without Wi-Fi) and since you got BlueTooth on the nano, it counts as wireless access so it drains your battery faster.

After formatting Western Digital 4 TB hard drive to Mac OS  extended (Journaled), 1.11 TB of space has been used.
Number of folders 11. Number of files 59.
    I am running lion10.7
Is this a normal use of space?

Wait.... can the BIOS on your machine support greater than 3TB?
    Most cannot.
4TB drives, from what I've read, require an all new drive controller. As older drive controllers would max out at 3TB's.

Hi I bought my mac a month ago and there are times that I sit and start to load and gives me electric shocks when I get up, this is normal?

    Does your chair have wheels?
Depending on where you are sitting, you can build up an electrostatic charge by moving a chair on wheels (like on carpet or one of those plastic chair pads).  On the aluminum bodies of current Macs, you can accidentally discharge when you go to touch the computer.

There is only one speaker, what looks like another speaker is actually a microphone. All iPhones only have one speaker down by the dock connector.

  • Extreme memory OC... This is normal?? (6600GT)

I am very surprised with the performance of my NX6600GT-TD128E because this video card is able to overclock the memory from 500Mhz (1000Mhz effective) to 650Mhz (1300Mhz effective) with the stock cooler and without any modification...
The video card is running totally stable at 550@1300 with temperatures of 47 IDLE and 79 Full Load...
This is normal or am i a very lucky guy with a 1.8ns memory???

  • This is normal, right?!

My question is this: whenever I turn on the computer or wake it from sleep, the disc drive (at least I'm pretty darn sure it's the disc drive) makes a bit of noise (same rhythm/sound every time). I just want to check to make sure this is normal. It's also a somewhat noisy drive when it comes to loading discs, burning, erasing, etc. Normal, yes? I hope so!
    Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

Very normal. In fact, there's a link on Apple's site about it...

  • Is this really normal battery drain for a new iPhone? Unconvinced...

I have a brand new iPhone. And I like it very much. But two days in, I am already finding myself charging it twice a day. I realise I'm probably using it a fair bit because it's new and exciting, but I can't help but wonder if it's draining faster than it should be even in standby. I charged it before going to a party tonight and now I'm back, results are below.
    <img src="http://emob23.photobucket.com/albums/b391/satineladiamant/photo.png">
Push was off, emails fetched hourly. Active usage was mostly Facebook and browsing after getting home. Coming fresh from standby before that browsing, it was about 85% full.
Is this drain normal for usage like this? I am sceptical (and not sure how else to check if I'm right...)

It may be your exchange account or even your mail account. As they continue to connect to the server and checking for new e-mails. Here is what you can do. Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calanders. From there tap on your mail account, delete it, and do a hard reset by holding the power button (top) and the home button for 10-15 seconds until apple logo appears (ignore the red slider). Once your phone powers back up, recreate your mail account.
but I would say that should be about right. It all depends on what you do. Personally, about 1 hour 30 minute usage will get me about average of 75%, depending on what I do. Currently, my usage time is 3 hr. 11 min. at 46% Standby at 8 hour 17 min. 7 hour is a good average of usage before the phone dies.

  • I just bought a new macbook pro 13-inch. I ran coconut battery test and it says age of the macbook is 22 weeks. And the battery load cycles shows 4 and battery capacity is 96%. Is this all normal? Does anyone have same issues?

    "Is this all normal?"
    Yes.
    "Does anyone have same issues?"
    What issues?
Coconut indicates an approximate battery capacity, and 96% is excellent.  During testing and run-in, the MBP is charged and discharged, and a cycle count of 4 is appropriate.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - Light bleed on screen - is this acceptable / normal for this screen?

    Hi all,
I wonder if someone could give me some advice as to whether the light bleed I'm experiencing on my Yoga 2 Pro is 'acceptable'. It doesn't bother me in normal day to day tasks like office work, email, web browsing but it's pretty distracting when watching videos in a dark / dim room, particularly where the video itself contains dark scenes or letterboxing.
I've done a bit of searching on the web it seems that black light bleed is a pretty common issue with these types of displays.
The following photos were taken on a DSLR in a totally dark room whilst running a video of complete black on youtube:
Brightness 100% - overexposed a bit in camera to show main areas of light bleed. The lower right corner is the most severe. Light bleed is also quite prevalent along the bottom of the screen.
    Link to image 1
Brightness 70-80% - exposed to represent as closely as possible what i see when watching the black video in a dark room.
    Link to image 2
    Brightness at 50%
    Link to image 3
Would this light bleed warrant a return? I bought this from John Lewis in the UK and they have an excellent returns policy. I do love the laptop but the light bleed is pretty annoying. I've seen some images of other peoples light bleed and I worry that if I was to get this replaced I may end up with one with much worse light bleed than what I currently have.
Any thoughts and advice would be most appreciated.
    Cheers.
Moderator note: large image(s) converted to link(s):  About Posting Pictures In The Forums

Ok, I think I have identified the source of the light bleed from the top right corner.  It seems that whatever they use to glue the panel down to the backing has loosened.  If I press down on the top left corner of the screen it is rock solid.  If I press down on the top right side where the light bleed is it flexes downward.  When I push down on the border the light bleed disappears.
So it would appear I don't have a panel problem, I have a glue problem.  Bummer.  Will contact Lenovo today.  Hopefully getting this fixed won't involve sending my Y2P into some shop for 3 weeks.
The light bleed sucks but what concerns me more is that the panel's integrity seems to be failing and could get worse.  I hope Lenovo has a local shop that can take a look at this.
