  • Would like to ask if this is an indicator of a fake iPhone 4S

Hi, I have a 64gb iPhone 4s. And I noticed at the back, after the line "Designed by Apple in California", it followed by two lines of Chinese characters (I think) with A1387 in it. Below those is a logo (can't really describe what it looks like), and below the logo is a alphanumeric series that starts with CCA. Is this fake? Thanks!

Mac and Mac models are picky about the RAM the Mac needs to see and use.
As you have found out, the 1067 speed RAM will not work in your year and model iMac.
You need the 1333 speed RAM.
If, you can return the RAM for a refund, do it!
If not, try online Mac RAM source and seller Crucial memory. They have a table that matches your Mac to the correct and reliable RAM. You may need to contact them to see whether or not they ship to South Africa, though.
If Crucial dpesn't work out, here's the specs for your year and model iMac that you need to seek out and purchase.
    Maximum Memory
32 GB (Actual) 16 GB (Apple)
    Memory Slots
    4 - 204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM
    Good Luck!

    THIS IS RAZA
    I GOT A MACBOOK PRO
I HAVE A PROBLEM. PROBLEM IS how to solve this problem i have uploaded in .... all the time few days later on i face this problem in safari..... anyone can help me please.....thanks

This is a scam. Do not phone these people, at best they will charge you for unnecessary 'cleaning' and at worst they will gain access to your Mac and steal your data. You've probably managed to install some 'adware' which is producing this fake warning. 'Adwaremedic' should remove it and is safe to use - please see

  • Fake Adobe 24/7 help tech's

    Hi:
This is a warning. I posted an issue here on Friday and was contacted on Saturday via e:mail. The claimed to be with Adobe24/7 help requested to connect on Skype messaging. The icon on the  Skype was Adobe helps.
This tech and one that phoned me were imposters. I found that out because I was missing the serial number on my receipt and came into find were to find it. After over an hour with the chat help which was a nightmare.  It was concluded I had been scammed.  I know have a bootlegged version of Adobe PSE 13 and there was some kind of other software in the program the each time I open this fake PSE13 loaded bits of a program into my computer. Thankfully I became aware early enough that all the components needed weren't loaded and with Apple Support was able to remove it from my Computer.
The real  Adobe support person today had the nerve to tell me if I wanted Adobe software I should have bought it from Adobe and the couldn't help me. Even though she had been advised that I downloaded the program with the assistance of what I understood to be Adobe 24/7 help techs.
    A police investigation is underway.

To answer your question SG no I haven't gotten a valid PSE 13. My funds are all tied up do to the investigation and after what happened I want one in a box with the documentation and I won't be ordering on line.  At this time PSE9 appears to be working on Yosemite so I may not bother. I'm pretty discouraged with Adobe's customer care and security.
I didn't give out my e-mail yet they had it and it was the one associated with my Adobe account.
The original e-mail has magically disappeared. Below is a screen shot of the contact logo on Skype.  PayPal and Skype have both investigated and deemed it fraud. Skype has terminated that fake Adobe ID.  PayPal is giving me a refund. Apple support has been amazing in helping clean out the computer of the bootlegged PSE13 and all the spy and malware that came with it. I attempted the real Adobe help again and just got the run around.  I spoke  to a wonderful person at the Adobe corporate offices in Ottawa and they contacted global security who said that as  I was a customer and the scam was not done by a company employee I had to go through customer care and customer care had to contact them.  This I had a phone number. I ended having to key everything under the old case number.  The person couldn't or wouldn't understand what I was saying, when insisted on speaking to someone  could he put me hold for a very long time. I hung up when a client came to my door. Then I receive an e-mail form customer care with a the link to my case. Which of course scared me. Given the situation. I looked the e-mail very carefully and it did have the proper case # and the e-mail as you noted SG so I decided it was real. I keyed in my tale again which I have told to many times over the past few days.
It amazes me that other then the person in Ottawa and now you SG  no one at Adobe seems to be concerned that someone out there is impersonating them and scamming their customers.

  • ALERT of possibility of FRAUD or bad intentioned in FAKES applications to iPad: Recently I bought two applications -$20,00 each- that pretending offer Word and PowerPoint, but its only had a bunch of tutorials videos. The Apple Store must supervision that

ALERT to the possibility of bad use of FRAUD in FAKES APPLICATIONS to iPad in iTunes Store. I bought two applications: Word Office, and PowerPoint  - $20,00 each-, because the advertising announce it's as Productivity Applications, able to work with them and consequently, to write, to save the works, to print, and else. But it's is ABSOLUTELY FALSE because this FAKE APPLICATIONS only PRETEND to be, but really its contains a BUNCH OF TUTORIALS VIDEOS!!!. So if you need applications to write, a make presentations or else, I strongly recommend PAGES, NUMBERS and KEYNOTE, the Apple applications and your money to be save and guaranteed!. I really think that the iTUNES STORE and the APPLEI STORE must to be policy ALL the applications products BEFORE authorized the sell in his official site!.

Is this one of the apps that you bought?
Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 - Be Expert
It may not be completely obvious, but it is, at least, categorized as Education with an, albeit small, disclaimer "(noted: this app is not the PowerPoint from Microsoft)"
The description is accurate, as it is all "What you can know" and "What you can learn" but they probably should use a different icon to avoid confusion.

  • Fake iPod in stores!!

i bought this iPod. it doesnt look like an original one but it hav an apple sign on it & its physical features assembles iPod nano. what makes it diff is only its play button is replaced with a vol button and the play button is in the middle & instead of having a hold button(on/off) it have a slide on to off button. i had problems dwnld-ing songs into it, i tried evry single steps written in apple.com. after couple of weeks, i was told that my "iPod" wasn't really an iPod. i am so frustrated. i cant replace it or complain since i bought this "iPod" overseas, wic in korea. i hope apple will take this serious as many people are tricked by this fake iPod & thus not trusting apple products. i evr wanted to own an iPod but ended up tricked by a fake iPod.

Don't know the laws in the country where you purchased the "fake" iPod, but if you have a receipt that identifies the retailer where you purchased it then you may have a case. Check with the appropriate authorities in the country you purchased it. Obviously, since you purchased a fake it was not from an Apple authorized retailer. It would be pretty safe to assume that Apple can't do much for your individual case but it would probably be helpful if you contact Apple directly to give them this info. It wouldn't hurt and it may help keep this from happening to others that visit the same location.

  • Report a fake account without a valid Skype accoun...

Why isn't there a way to submit a fake account, or solicite any real help from Skype, without having a real Skype account?
I manage several email domains, and there have been issues of people trying to setup fake Skype, FaceBook and other social media accounts.
I always make an effort to contact those companies to let them know that these are not valid email addresses that have been issued for use, yet somehow, these hackers have managed to activate and continue to use these unissued/bogus email address.
Why can't I report this fake account without having to log in to a real Skype account? My personal account has not been hacked (knock on wood), but there should be a means for the many who do not have Skype, but their email addresses are being used to setup fake accounts.

Hi, Haumana, and welcome to the Community,
You may send your report to Skype using this e-mail address: [email protected]

Even am facing this fake battery  issues after updating my z10 to 10.2.1.3247  donno wat to do fone shut downs at 40% randomly for no reason & i hv to plug my charger to get it restarted.
Vignesh_Manoharan, What is happening is that your on-device battery meter is off-sync with the actual battery charge.
Connect to your OEM wall outlet battery charger and while still connected and powered on,
remove the battery a minute to reboot. After reboot leave to fully charge to 100%.
Thus will reset the false charge reading. You may need to do perform this procedure 2-3 times.

  • I I always get this pop up wheneI get this pop up whenever I open Safari?

Whenever I open Safari, a webpage comes up saying that it found viruses on my computer as well as a pop up that is telling me to contact Microsoft Certified Live Technicians at 1-866-293-3116 (Toll Free). This will not go away and I cannot go to any other website. Whenever I click on OK on the pop up it pops up again. When open Chrome I have no problem and can use the internet. Is this fake? What should I do? How do I stop this and should I contact Apple Support?

    1. It's fake.
    2. Launch Safari with the Shift key held down. If that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.

  • What is the recommended security software for MacPro? I am getting popups, including offer to sell Mac Sheild. Is this legit?

What is the recommended security software for MacPro? I am getting popups, including offer to sell Mac Sheild. Is this legit?

No, it is not legit, it's a scam. Avoid such popups and DO NOT under any circumstances fall for any claims that your system has been infected by viruses and download any of this "scareware". See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4650
    For additional information, see also:
    http://www.reedcorner.net/news.php/?p=138
    http://www.reedcorner.net/guides/macvirus/
If you do a forum search on Mac Defender, Mac Protector or Apple Security Center (this fake has a lot of different names) you will also find a lot of threads about this.
The most recommended "security software" is "none", beyond common sense and normal caution. If you do, however, decide you wish to run antivirus software, I think that the donationware clamXav should be more than enough provided you remember to scan your system from time to time. iAntivirus has also been recommended by others, though I have no personal experience with it.
If you are running Windows on your system, either via BootCamp, Parallels Workstation or another solution, then that copy of Windows is subject to all the myriad exploits common to the Windows world, so you need to take full precautions, including running both antivirus and antispyware software.
    Regards.

  • Did not order this app!

Woke up this morning to find "Koroku Album" a dog photo application installed on my iPad. I never ordered this application, would not order it and...deleted it. However, upon research, I find it was a $4.99 app and am wondering if my account was charged. After reading about the recent iTunes hacking, I am thinking this is another one...any thoughts?

iTune cards are the only way to go. I use them to control and monitor how much I spend. I usually keep at least $10 so I can purchase a song or two, then if I need more I just add another card. I buy them in packs of 3 for $10 each, a $30 pack. Now, I'm wondering how do I get $100 card for $93.
Since reading all of this, I've removed my cc and now I will only use iTune cards. I wish someone would tell me, what has happened to Apple. They don't want to admit, take responsibility or correct their issues. Have they forgotten their dark day? The fall is not to great that it can't be made. Be authentic! Fix the issues and stop taking us for granted. When someone's cc info has be stolen and used to make a purchase, once reported, the money should be REFUNDED IMMEDIATELY! I remember getting a refund for an app I purchased by mistake! This is BS.
I want the old Apple back! The one that made promises and DELIVERED! This fake Apple has GO TO GO!!!
*Very upset and fast losing FAITH in the Apple Brand.*

  • Fake flash player update-

How i can  uninstall this update/program. I install this update last week. And today I saw this Fake adobe flash player installer and redirect virus - Am I infected? What do I do? .

    If you're seeing THIS...
    Specifically, "Flash Player PRO"....
It's not a virus. Not on your computer, anyway. Your router is one of the victims of a hack. Hackers have hacked 300000+ wireless routers, Check yours NOW!
You'll most likely end up replacing the router. The ones that can be erased (flashed) and reloaded are few and far between.

  • Fake hp toner being sold in morocco

I own an hp lazerjet 1005 and when I try to purchase a new cartridge I get this fake 35a for the price of 250 mad, the cardboard package looks the same as the original except for seemingly insignificant differences in the print on the bottom of it. The plastic package is also different and the cartridge itself doesnt display the hp logo and print with even a slight difference in the ridges around. The difference doesnt stop here but it also includes the quality of the ink and the quantity of the pages it is supposed to print. The issue here is not about the product being fake but selling it as an hp original product is a ripoff that ho should do something about.

There is a page here that has a link to report counterfeiting of HP supplies.  It suggests the following, and lists an email address of [email protected]
What to keep in mind when reporting counterfeit to HP
Please indicate why you think the product is suspicious. Share as many details as possible.
Include the name and address (and/or website) of the company that offered you the cartridge.
If possible, please include digital photos of the box and the print cartridge in your report to HP. The box should be photographed from all sides without using the camera flash, including a close-up of the security label, if one is present.
    Your contact details (optional).
Please keep the print cartridge, its packaging and any documents related to the product, such as receipts, in the event that HP contacts you for more information.
HP will only follow up with individuals reporting counterfeit if additional details are needed.
