Is this good for ipod video screens?

i was wondering f this product.. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0002U1TSU.01-A2B3WACBWPDWRJ.SCMZZZZZZZ.jpg was good for removing scraches off my ipod + ipod screen...its 3M plastic Glaze...Thanxz...xXxmartinxXx

No specs there listed but if it uses a polymer base then it is 100% safe which I am sure it does and it is a 3M product. Similar products are used on aircraft canopies. Uses a two step process, a plastic cleaner and then this product a polish.

  • Cracked iPod video screen

I've bought my son iPod video 30G last Christmas. Yesterday he found iPod screen cracked and not working. He said he didn't do anything but keeping it in his backpack. I took it to "Smart" bar at the store where I bought it and got the worst experience. The "Smart" guy in that store kept saying about the limited warranty which does not cover the damage done by abuse and offering best option like recycling the four-month old iPod 30Gig and geting 10% discout for new purchase. He said it even cannot be repaired. Does it make any sense to anybody??
I've searched online and found there are tons of complains about fragile iPod video screen and Apple hasn't done anything about this inherent defect yet. Let me ask Apple company the question. Is it really only the user's fault? Is it fair to blame the customers only and even refusing the repair? I guess you should have clearly posted the statement like "the screen is extremely fragile, so please put it in hard-shell case not to break it" in the user manual.
So, good lesson, everyone. Don't waste your $300 for this poor material.

trust me if ipod screens were really that fragile i'd have broken one by now.
I like have the worst care for electronics ever.
let's see i've had three ipod's. my mom said she'd buy me a new one if i'd let her have my old one. that one still works. the next one suffered a corrupted harddrive. and my third one still works. it had better i only got it christmas.
anyway, at multiple times i have sat on dropped and banged against things each one of these ipods.
trust me if ipod screens were really that fragile i'd have broken one by now.
I did have a theory about this though. the accidental breaking.
this depends on the supposed idea that the front cover of the ipod is a layer of glass and one of plastic.
there may be a thin layer of air or moisture trapped between the two layers and when moved from intense cold to heat. the air or moisture expands and causes the material to break.
note the last science class i took was high school chem and i got a D. so no you can't take this to the bank, probably.
and that class was probably graded on a curve.

  • Does creative cloud include any software for HD video screen capture?

Does creative cloud include any software for HD video screen capture? I know that Captivate is not offered but are there other software applications available that do the same job? I am not wanting to make tutorials but I am a filmmaker wanting to integrate sequences with screen capture (which I will edit on Premiere)

    Thanks Brian,
Spent some time yesterday doing research on this. There are good reviews and bad reviews for just about every screen capture application out there it seems.
The top-ten reviews gave their gold medal to CamVerce, which I'll probably buy today.
    http://video-capture-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
Yesterday I bought the Sonne Screen video which is rated 5th on the top-ten site. (I figured as I'm going to be editing on premiere I shoudn't need to pay for extra editing packages and as I'm not using it to create tutorials I really just want a good quality screen capture for Windows 8). However, I'm not really happy with the image quality on playback and I'm finding the technical assistance really poor from Sonne. I still haven't received an email confirmation from them.
The others that I thought sounded right for me were WM Capture (though the top-ten review had a few negative things to say about it).
Tried a couple of the free ones also. EZvid is very popular.
Will see how I go and let you know. I'm sure this is very subjective and I'm probably not being as clear as I need to be about purpose of use.

  • Are iMacs good for playing video games like Skyrim?

I'm most likely to be getting a baseline iMac and I wanted to know if these computers are good for playing video games such as Skyrim before I get rid of my current PC. Also, are these games even compatable with a Mac. I've heard rumors that you can't play these kind of games on a Mac.

So, I can interchange between the Mac OS and Windows at any time I want or did I understand that wrong? Is it a one or the other kind of deal?
Yes, please read the Boot Camp FAQ for additional information.  You will need to buy a license of Windows 7 and once your get the iMac run an App called Boot Camp Assistant and follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows. Once you have you completed you will have both OS X and Windows 7 installed. BTW there is a Boot Camp forum if you have more detailed questions, that is where the Boot Camp and Windows guys hang out.
Note: Whenever you load MS Windows on your Mac it then becomes a  native Windows machine when running Windows. This means like any Windows box it is susceptible to ALL the other issues Windows users have to put up with including viruses and other malware. The good news is even if your Windows partition becomes totally diseased that in no way affects the OS X partition or OS X.

You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. The Menu Bar and Dock will be on the MacBook display and your background screen on the monitor. In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the monitor and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen. You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the monitor your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.

  • Quick Time Pro installation for Ipod videos

I have been trying to download video files to my Ipod. I read where I needed Quick Time 7 so I downloaded it. It didn;t work. I was told I needed Quicktime 7 Pro. Bought it. When I followed instructions for converting my video files I received an error message saying my video files were not movie files. After discussing the issue with an Apple support person it looks as if I do not have Apple Quick Time 7 Pro. I followed the directions and when I open Quicktime in the control panel it has my name and unlock key and says Quicktime 7 Pro. However when I open Quick Time Player and go to ABOUT...it says Quicktime 7.0.3. How do I get what I paid for so that I can convert my video files and treansfer them to my IPod? Help!

QT Pro is not a separate application. The Pro key unlocks the Pro capabilities that are in the free version of the Player. You should find a preset for iPod videos by loading the source files and using Export from the File menu. Note that QT will not export the sound track from muxed mpegs, like mpeg-1 or mpeg-2. QT Mpeg Limitations
For those you will have to try some of the Windows applications that have appeared since the iPod was released. Here is the link for one of those Windows iPod exporters that should work with avi and mpeg files. It is freeware.

  • Best type of case for iPod Video 30GB

    Merry Christmas everyone!
I just got a new iPod Video (30GB), and I'm looking into accessories for it. I want to buy a case that's good to protect the ipod from scratches and such, as well as if I accidentally drop it. I know there are a lot of good minds out there.. what would anybody recommend that would do the job, but at a considerable price (around 20-25 bucks)?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Convert Selection For iPod--Video Problems

I've got video in iTunes, that's not the problem. I've checked, iTunes and QuickTime are both up-to-date. When I try and sync the videos to my 80gig iPod, it tells me that they can not be synced because they are not the right format. They're all .mp4 format and Apple lists that as compatible for an iPod. When I right click on the video and click on 'Convert Selection for iPod', it converts it, but I only get the audio with a blank white screen and no video. I've followed the Apple tutorial and they're video clip works when I convert it. I went to the DivX website and downloaded the newest version of it and installed everything but the DivX player. It still won't work. What should I do?

I think I was able to resolve this myself after some trial and error. It looks like it is all in the name of the file. I've gotten some files to transfer after going into the Get Info section and updating the name (usually shorten the name or take out non-letter/number/# characters and then get the filename on disk to match.

  • Can someone make Things clear for iPod video Transfers?

    Hi there:
    Ok, 30 Gig iPod Video
    All software up to date
    iTunes latest and greatest
After reviewing the "discussions" here, the information provided, while good for "specific" instances, doesn't really cover any answers.
So here's the problem: and also a bunch of questions which hopefully someone will take the time to answer, and with that, have a one stop place for all questions regarding the same. Thanks
    Windows XP
    All updates
    All iPod/iTunes latest greatest software.
    iTunes Latest
    iPod 30g Video
iPod has been reset, redone, etc. so it's like brand new.
    Have Videora iPod Converter
    Also Azureus
So..I download a movie, and snag it it shows up as
    MovieNameHere.mp4
it's huge, so I'm assuming the whole thing was downloaded
I drag and drop this to iTunes library but it doesn't show up in the library
I drag and drop this to the iPod and it also doesn't show up
I open quicktime to see if it will play in there, and i'm presented with "Not a valid movie file"
I open Videora and try to convert and it doesn't show
I've downloaded the "sample" movie file from the site, and it worked just fine, played no problem.
Now this is the way that I feel that things "should" work.
    Simple...
Music transfers' no problem so the iTunes library file is fine
    making sense?
So my questions are as follows...
What is the best place/medium for snagging movies.
What format is iTunes looking for for the movies?
What steps are required to get a movie and be able to transfer it. (Specific Please)
Is there a piece of software out there that is better than the other? e.g. I get a bit torrent info file for a movie,
download said movie, but it's not being recognized at all
Won't copy, won't move to either iTunes or iPod.
Please don't ask for a reset/reboot or any of the 5 R's, as this is just a waste of time at this point, as that's not the problem
Would appreciate any help, and while this may be long, I understand, that with other people looking around and seeing that a lot of us are having the same problem, then this would be a good link to have.
This shouldn't be hard to do..or at least as hard as it's seeming to be...
    download a movie
    transfer to iTunes,
    transfer to iPod
Transfer transfer transfer etc...too many steps...this should be just like music, find it, add it and it's done.
Thanks in advance for all answers, and I'll give mega points to anyone that comes up with the simplest of answers too.
I monitor this discussion group various times of the day.
    Thanks again

    Thanks....I responded below, but basically...
iTunes isn't or can't be recognizing the video.
Window media player shows them, and plays them just fine
I'll use videora to convert to the H264 format and see what happens then.
It "should" be like music, add to library and all that.
I can't use the "convert" option as iTunes isn't recognizing the format as yet.
    Will let the forum know
    Thanks
Let's work our way through your questions:
What is the best place/medium for snagging movies?
    - Sorry, I'm not going to help you get movies that
you didn't pay for, there are plenty of other forums
    for that.
Illegal movies wasn't the initial question actually and I fully agree
What format is iTunes looking for for the movies?
    - It will play two types .mov and .mp4 but the .mp4
must be H264. I've had an .mp4 movie that wasn't
H264 and it wouldn't play on my iPod. The other part
of this is the naming of the file. iTunes is
stricter then Windows when comes to file names.
Generally, if you stick to letters and numbers
    you'll be fine.
    I didn't know about the H264 format...so that's a good start.
What steps are required to get a movie and be able to
    transfer it. (Specific Please)
    - You need a program that will convert the file or
DVD to .mp4 or .mov. the free one that I know
    about is Videora.
iTunes also has a converter built in, right click on
the file and then convert (it's never worked for me
though). As for the specifics of how you rip and
convert that depends on the software, follow those
directions. For loading it into iTunes and then onto
iPod, its the same as a sound file.
This is where one of the problems lies....I have a video, Mpeg-4 format, I can't get it into iTunes, or have iTunes recognize it. Same thing with quicktime player, it won't be recognized in there too..I've even tried changing the extension to .mov but to no avail.
I have videora, and see all the coding options there
So I will take that Mpeg-4 video that I have, and using Videora, convert it to the H standard...(am I right so far?) Will iTunes then be able to recognize it?

  • Best settings for ipod video playback on TV

I would like to know which video format is the best for a very good video playback on TV using ipod video ? And which settings choose for the video to have the best possible quality on TV, while still being able to store a lot of videos on the ipod.
I use a 1.67ghz powerbook, and the convertion process is so long, is it normal for it to be that long. I thought that powerbook were suppose to be really fast. Would buying more ram help ?
    thank you

If you're using QuickTime Pro's "Movie to iPod", then you're getting very good video quality. The reason why this takes so long is that instead of just compressing the video, it first examines the entire video looking for places that may be a little more difficult to encode (cross fades, cuts, high motion) then spending more time on them in the second pass. So, yeah, it's normal to take that long, but, in this case, that's how you get the best output.
Depending on your source (if it's from a VHS tape or something like that) you might want to download MPEG Streamclip and try H.263 or H.264 with only one pass. It's a bit faster and the results still look pretty good so that may suit you as well.
