Is this is a substitute for idisk/icloud and more?

Hi
I run lion/iOS5 on two macs, two iphones and an ipad.  I use iCloud and iTunes match also.  I have no server experience.
iDisk is leaving us soon and there are two major issues I want to sort out and I am wondering if Lion Server may be the answer to my prayers!
Firstly I have a work email account which is POP3 only.  This means obviously that I have to read and delete messages on each device - a pain!  Is it possible to set up the mail account on server (I'm not so certain I know what I am talking about!) so that each device when read will show on the alternative devices as read and so forth?  Basically I mean work in the same way as iCloud.
Secondly, I use sugar sync at the moment, which is okay for having synced documents between macs, but each time I want to access anything for my ipad/iphone I have to download it and following changes, email it to the desktop and save it again.  Sugar sync also wrecks your file name when you download something to it.  I noticed when doing some limited investigation that it would seem you can use lion to serve the documents, make amendments and they are changed immediately on the server for all users (even though all the users are me - have a complex job meaning I use too many devices!).
Finally another two points, is it possible to host an iweb site on server?  Not sure I would want to do this but it might be an option?  Presumably iCal, my personal email, music etc will remain on the iCloud system without difficulty?
I am looking for general advice so anything would be appreciated!
Matt

You can still keep your email synced with iCloud, that feature still works almost the same as it did in MobileMe.
As for the loss of the iDisc and remote access to my Time Capsule, I solved that problem by replacing my Time Capsule with a Buffalo AirStation Nfiniti router that provides for remote access to attached storage.  There are also other router manufacturers that provide their own mDNS service for remote access to attached storage.
You can host your own website on a Mac running Lion Server, but managing your own server requires diligence to keep it running safely and reliably.  You will also need a registered domain name, an open Internet connection and either a dedicated IP address or a dynamic DNS service for it to be accessible from the Internet.
