The new firmware v111.007 for Nokia N85 RM-335 is now available via FOTA and will be added soon on Nokia Software Updater (NSU). Do get the new update it as it fixes bugs/errors.

yeh appears so that it may be for the China variant. i would take information on symbian-master with a grain of salt anyway.

Nokia C3-00 Firmware Updating issue

I am trying to update my Nokia C3 from V 4.45 to V 7.20 through nokia software updater. After 10 min remaining timer shown, I get an error message "Software update failed. For optimum connectivity, your USB cable should be...". I tried updating on desktop and laptop too but it gives me same error. Any idea how to resolve this issue?

Hello nokia, i am very much dissapointed by updating my nokia C3-00 firmware version from v4.65 to v07.20. In previous update of v4.65(which was my first update) everything was working great, but now after updating to v07.20 it shows so many bugs. Even the apps don't run at all, and displays 'application error' all the time. Bottom line - I request to nokia software engineers to take some sudden action and please provide us ( nokia lovers and believers) a new bugs free firmware for c3-00 as soon as possible. Thanks

Nokia C3-00 Firmware Update 8.63!!!! DON'T UPDATE!...

"Hello,
I have had the Nokia C3-00 since January 2011 and to be quite honest I am very disappointed. The phone cost me £80 and I thought for that £80 I would be getting a very decent model. There's nothing wrong with the actual phone itself, more the firmware that Nokia has decided to put on it.
I first bought the phone with firmware version 4.XX and then updated it via the Ovi Pc Suite to 7.20, I then noticed some problems with this firmware and waited and waited for Nokia to produce a firmware update. It took 7 months for you to develop and release another; 8.63.
I've had this firmware installed for less than an hour and I'm already regretting installing it (exactly the same way I felt about updating to 7.20) I'd like to know what benefits the latest firmware actually gives me? So far I've found the following that don't work:
- Can't delete messages.
- Mail stops at loading screen.
- Ovi Store won't work. (Conflicting applications)
I've tried turning the phone off and on again, Factory resetting the phone but nothing seems to work.
On the other hand though, you managed to get rid of the duplicate "Communities" icon. Congratulations.
I feel as though I've bought a phone that hasn't been tested before sale properly and as if Nokia has just pushed it aside even though it still clearly has lots of problems.
Now, I'd like to know what you're going to do about this.

I just can't believe they replaced bugs in their firmware, with EVEN MORE bugs. It's ridiculous.

I agree, it is better to avoid updating.
After the update the phone works OK and the built-in applications also in my case. However, what I loved from this phone is that it supports Java applications. The new firmware does not allow any application do not coming from Ovi store to work properly. I used to use the gmail application and the Google maps one, same for other applications from non-recognized providers. This considerably changes the rules and I consider this as cheating. I will write a complaint letter to Nokia very soon.

Upcoming Nokia E5-00 Firmware Update ?

Its been more than 6 months that Nokia has released its updated Firmware for Nokia E5-00 , as its like 9 months that the phone was Released and Still its current firmware got bugs related to restarting when reply sms or sometime just restart by hang up.
Nokia Team kindly tell when the new Firmware update is coming or I am thinking to move on to Android For sure.

Hi scarlet_213, download Nokia Ovi Suite and install it to your computer. Then follow the steps and upgrade your phone. Nokia 3120 classic firmware update problem

Hello!
I tried updating my Nokia 3120 Classic with Nokia Software Updater, and I I've got some problems. When I connect my phone to the computer Software Updater detects it, and everything seems to be OK, but when i want to install the update (or as in this case re-instal it, beacause I've got the newest firmware version) the program returns errors.
The 'download' step is OK, Software Updater downloads the updates, and when it comes to installing after few seconds I get "update failed, to have the best connection connect your phone to the PC without USB hub..." (i've got polish version of software updater, so that's how I translate it into english).
The thing is, that I've got the best connection! The device is connected to computer via CA-101D cable! I don't know what is wrong, I used to update my Nokia N95, Nokia N82 and second N95, and everythink worked great, but then the new version of Nokia Software Updater appeared, and I can't update this old 3120 : /
I need to update it, help me!

Nokia Asha 205 firmware update while roaming

Hello,
is it possible to update the Asha 205's firmware when the phone is roaming? The device does not have an USB-port, and Nokia Suite won't let me update when the phone is connected via Bluetooth. The FOTA update isn't working, because the phone thinks I am abroad and won't download the update.
I am on the Saunalahti network in Finland, which is using Elisa's network and thus the phone is "roaming" although it's actually in its home network.

Nokia 5800 v50 firmware update gone wrong

Hey guys,
I installed v50 firmware over the air. I had to uninstall some programs because the update complained of lack of space, so I uninstalled Ovi client and related software and some location aware thing that I don't remember the name.
Then flashed the firmware... all went well, phone turned on.
While on the home screen after some seconds I got a message saying that something failed to install (it didn't say what). I still was able to use my phone however, now the camera software doesn't work.
Any tips ? Do I need to do a hard-reset on the phone and install firmware again ? And how can I do a hard-reset ?

Yes, since there is a space problem a hard reset would be a good option before reinstalling. Remember that it deletes everything so make sure you have a backup.
A hard reset (x6, 5800 and 5230 only) is done by the following (warning, this deletes all data on your phone):
1.) Turn off the phone and remove battery for 5min
2.) Reinsert battery
3.) Press and hold the green, red and camera buttons. DO NOT LET GO.
4.) While holding the three buttons, press the power key to boot the phone up.
5.) Keep on pressing until you see the country selection screen.
A correctly done hard reset would show you that everything on the phone (contacts, messages, calendar entries, etc) would be deleted. So it is advisable to back them up. Upon restoration, do not restore settings or files if possible.

When viewing the latest firmware version for my nokia X6 phone, it says 32.0.002.
I have installed on my phone version 30.2.003.
When checking for updates, using PC or phone, I receive "No updates available".
Can anyone help me to update the firmware version

it means that the product code of your device has no new updates.
you may have a network branded/locked device, or the country/region you live doesn't need yet the new update.
just wait and keep checking.

Nokia 5310 problems/firmware/updates????

right people after buying my nokia 5310 a week ago i have changed it twice, first time the camera did not work, 2nd time the phone kept restarting whilst listening to music. Now i have a 3rd nokia 5310 and it has restarted twice whilst listening to music, it has also crashed whilst recieving a missed call. After doing research i understand there may be a new version of firmware available (v 3.63) does anybody know where to find the version as this may fix the problems???? i have also read that it is a mp3 codec problem that causes the phone to restart so we should change them to mp4s using nokia pc suite this has fixed the problem for most people with nokia 5310s. IF ANYBODY HAS V 3.63 OR KNOWS WHERE TO DOWNLOAD IT COULD YOU LET US KNOW PLEASEEEEEEEEE!!!!! THANX

K...But the real prblm is, my phones previous firmware version was 410.xx.xx. And i updated it to current available ver 510.21.009.
After update , i noticed some prblmz, camera settings restore each time when using camera,
And also the main thing is the GPS. My GPS worked fine with firmware ver 410.xx.xxx . Before location lock within 30 sec or even less than a minute, but after update it struggles to get a fix on location even after 20 min. I used ovi maps, google maps, but it does not giving me the correct location. I hope if i can downgrade to previous ver , what can i do ??

Nokia C6-00 firmware update to v.20.0.042

My Nokia C6-00 has v.11.0.029 from 31-08-2010 but I can't upgrade to v.20.0.042.
In Nokia software updater it says (when connected) no updates availble........
What is going on, why can't I update my Nokia C6.00 ?

I'm happy that you still belive in Nokia.
There were only 2 super models in the complete Nokia range namly : 6110 -> 6310 -> N95 8gb.
After that Nokia couldn't provide sufficient support for the range of models. And see all my problems with the C6-00, no answer from them. The service center couldn't do anything. Not even a software flash, that isn't the support for a real Nokia fan like I was.
Always had Nokia phones from 1997 on, but know I'm so disaappointed in this brand.

Nokia 5800 xpressmusic firmware update

I am trying to update the firmware on my phone. I have tried to from the phone using *#0000# only to be told to add a server profile? I downloaded ovi suite to my pc and connected my phone via usb. Halfway through the update, ovi says that it cannot find my phone anymore and I need to disconnect the phone, turn it off and on again and re-connect it. Even after doing this numerous times ovi still can no longer detect my device.

Hi thanks for your advice but this message appears after the ovi suite has shut down the phone and it has re-started. I click on the phone - pc suite connection when prompted after re-start and then this warning appears saying it has lost connection and to unplug the phone, restart it and replug it back in. If I press ok at the bottom it just continues to show this warning again after about 10 seconds. I don't have the sw update app on my phone it must be running on a very old version

Also when is the update software going to quit telling people that the server is unavailable and to try again later?

Answer: No, not exactly .... it brings up a special boot-up menu screen.
To clean up your player's memory
Turn off your player. Press and hold play/pause key Continue to hold play/pause key until you perform Steps 3 and 4.
If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again. Gently push the end of a thin object (like a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole. Slide the On/Off/Lock switch towards (the bottom) and hold until the display lights up. The Recovery Mode screen appears, and four menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware and Reboot. To clean up your player's memory, select Clean Up. When the cleanup is complete, select Reboot. Your player restarts and starts rebuilding its music library. Caution! Selecting Reload Firmware erases your player's firmware. I really like my ZEN 4Gb player the sound is really good compared with other players i had, the only weak points I see are these:
1.-When an mp3 without album, artist, title, etc, is synct to the ZEN it won't show up if it has no ID info, for an example if I sync a file with title and artist but no album, it will show up un the all songs menu and artist, but no in album menu. why can't you guys put a function for this, if there is no info on that particular slot in the IDtag can't the ZEN put that this info like unknow by default
example:
the file will have this info in the IDtag

Album:
Title: Absolutely
The ZEN will Displayed like this
Artist: Nine Days
Album: Unknown
Title: Absolutely
2.-Fix the issue when the file names get changed or cutted cause this cause to have multiple files of the same song, video, etc, and is relly anoying.
3.-bookmarks on video, would be really nice.
4.-audiobook section on music menu.
5.-audiobook exclude from all music list.
6.-audio config option on now playing screen menu

Don't think many people know this but WMP doesn't embed album art into your MP3s. So, that's likely the reason why some people have problems getting album art to show up on their ZEN. I use MediaMonkey to embed album art into my MP3s. So, even if you play your MP3s in another PC or transfer it to another player, you will always be able to see the album art. This brings up another feature I think other people would like to be included:
#2) A software to allow album art to be embedded into MP3s (to be included with the software pack).
