Is this normal every time I start up DW and a new site?

Every time I start DW it wants to update its location, when I first installed it I moved it to a different folder but only once. Is that normal? Also, when I start a new DW site it tells me that "the root folder you have chosen is inside the folder for site "other site name". This may cause some operations, such as synchronization, to work incorrectly. Proceed anyway?" It says this even though the file that I choose for it is alone on my desktop, not in another folder. Thanks for your help!

The first time I try to load video on BBC website, firefox crashes. When I restart it, the video loads. This happens EVERY TIME I start a new internet session. WHY?

I am using a mac, and every time I turn it on, load the BBC website on firefox and then try to load a video there, firefox crashes. I select restart from the two options provided, and when it reloads the BBC page, I can watch that video and any other on the site without problems. Then, if I shut the mac down and turn it on again, the problem once again occurs. Is this just a bug in firefox?

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

My drop-down list won't appear anymore so every time I want to go to a new site I have to type it in where before my drop-down box would appear and I could just click it and hit search and go there how do I make my drop-down box come back

somehow I must've clicked a button that took away my drop down box when I go to use my Google search so different sites that I go to a lot I would always just click it when the drop-down box came up I would click again and hit search and you would bring that page up but even if I go to a site once I leave that I try to click and make the drop-down box come up again with the new search and it nothing happens so the problem is I need my drop down box to come back up to all the places that I visit kind of like a history of like I said I would just click and it would come up by itself now the drop-down box won't come up anymore so I need somebody to tell me what to do to bring my drop-down box back also I am new to computers so I don't know a lot so don't be real technical thanks for the help merry Christmas from Joe

It's not a matter of me assuming to restore it, once the error comes up, the only next step I can do is to restore it. I can't access any of the iphones settings in itunes or anything, it's a mandatory restore. If I just cancel the sync (before restoring) and disconnect the phone, all my apps crash on opening: aka unusable phone. So I have literally no choice but to restore every time the error shows up if I want my phone to work.
I have no idea where I may have duplicate files as it doesn't tell me, so if that is the problem (which I don't think it is) then I don't know where I have to go to delete the duplicates.
And the duplicate file error still doesn't explain why leaving iTunes to restore the phone doesn't work and me having to drag the window around. I know it sounds utterly ridiculous, my friend didn't believe me when I told him either but then I showed him and he was as confused as I am. If I just leave the restore to do its own thing at it's own pace, it will loa maybe 20% then fail for whatever reason.

Every time I start up iPhoto and some other apps my computer just shuts down and restarts.

My Mac Book Pro 2010 is repeatedly shutting down whilst I'm using iPhoto mainly. It also happens with other apps occasionally and when it does I get this error message: 4MEM/61/40000000: Oxa4d73598 or something similar.

Every time I start Firefox it repeats the add-on compatibility check

I understand the need to check compatibility with newer versions of Firefox. But in my installation (FF4) , it performs this check EVERY time I start up Firefox, and - as the message says - it takes several minutes.
After this check, everything works fine, inclusive all my plug-ins
Previous versions did not have this problem.
I tried already setting all copmpatibility settings to false:
extensions.checkCompatibility.4.0 false
and so on
Is anything else casuing this check at startup of Firefox?

i had this problem too. in your C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\yourprofilename directory you will find a file called "user.js". i had upgraded from firefox 6.0.1 to 6.0.2, but for some reason this file did not get updated properly. using notepad i edited this file and changed all references to 6.0.1 to 6.0.2 instead (change your version number as appropriate of course). that fixed the problem for me.

How do I stop Firefox from checking add-on compatibilty every time I start the program?

In the past 2 days, every time I start Firefox, a "What's New" tab (checking for compatibility of add-ons?) pops up in addition to my homepage tab. How can I keep the "What's New" tab from coming up? It seems like this starting happening after I updated to Firefox 6.0.

Hmm, that's some sort of MIDI Arpeggiator setup in your environment. Strange that you don't know it, this has to be custom-installed, it is not part of the standard setup.
You can do two things about it:
1.unlock your current screenset (shift-L), then close the (Bass Driver) window, then relock the screenset (shift-L). Next time you open up this project you won't see the Bass Driver, but it is still in the project.
2. You can remove the whole page: open the Environment (cmd-8), then go to the dropdown menu arrow top left of the Environment window and select the Bass Driver layer. If it is selected, dropdown again and choose Delete. Now Save your project under a different name (Save As...), so that you still keep the Bass Driver setup in the original project. If you don't need to keep it, you can simply Save.

Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
If no joy, restore backup using iTunes.
Finally last attempt, rsetore as new and sync content back manually.

There are three steps so make sure you follow all of them. They are:
remove iTunes and everthing related to it
verify everything is really removed
reinstall iTunes.

Since july 2 I have Acrobat Pro (the paid version). But every time I start the program I get the screen with: this is a trial version. You have X days left, etc. I find that quite annoying.

This is not just annoying, it is wrong, because at the end of the trial it will stop completely. You must resolve it before then.
So, did you do anything to license the trial version? It needs to be told that you have purchased, or it will stop working at the end of the trial.
