Is this Photoshop Lightroom the same software as Photoshop?
I purchased Photoshop Lightroom 5 and of course Lightroom 6 comes out. My question is, is Photoshop stand alone the same as Photoshop Lightroom 5?

Photoshop is the large pixel editor that does layers and lots of other pixel creation and editing via destructive editing.
Lightroom is a digital asset manager and catalog that does nondestructive editing with its editor via the catalog.

Is Adobe Photoshop CC the same as Adobe Photoshop CS+?
I will be starting an online website and need a program which gives me the ability to modify photos such as remove backgrounds, move sections of the picture around, add aspects of the picture to other pictures etc. You could say just the flexibility to edit each aspect of a picture.
I have been told I need Photoshop CS+ but this program runs into the thousands. I have found Photoshop CC for $9.99 per month which is appealing. Is CC equivalent to CS+ or completely diffferent?
Also I cannot find "CS+" does the plus just basically mean anything above "CS1" or is there an actual CS+?

CC is the latest, and a bargain at 9.99 /mo. Of course if you unsubscribe, it will no longer work.
CS6 is the last "permanent" non subscription license sold by Adobe. $700 for the Standard version.
If you can't afford the $700, then the monthly subscription is the best way to go.
CS to CS5 are no longer sold by Adobe. -
Concerning Epson Printer 4880: after changing the Ink from Photo Black to Matte Black I'm not getting the Epson Software in Photoshop and Lightroom. I can not select the paper medium, I don't see my profiles. What is wrong?
That is priceless!!! Thanks! I sure needed a good laugh after spending/wasting hours & days trying to either get my c6280 to give up on its Ink System Failure fixation, or find a decent replacement. Unfortunately I need the Smart Web Printing feature that I guess only HP has, or I'd try a different brand. And now even HP has very few models with that available.
My error msg is a little different from those previously stated, but close: 0xc18a0201. Even tho there were frustrations with my c6280, I did like several of its unique features which are hard to find now under $100. I hate how HP (& I suppose other brands also) are CONSTANTLY changing models & then of course ink cartridges.
Oh heavens, I've had the c6280 a whopping 2 1/2 years! I'm sure they want us poor slobs to have to buy a new one every year & a day! To say nothing of the exorbitant prices for ink. And now if this one is really dead in the water, I have SIX unused #02 ink cartridges which I cannot return---I got them in a combo pack, & for some reason have wound up with THREE lite pink & THREE lite blue cartridges, while having to buy extras of the other colors, that ran out before the others!!! Yeah, & what's with that not being able to print in BLACK if a color runs out????

What "app cleaner software" ? I ask because installing Photoshop over a previous version has never been a problem. Perhaps your difficulty stems from another source, eg. "cleaner software" ?
If you look in your hard drive, at the root level there is a Library. In there is a folder called Application Support, and in that you will find a folder called Adobe. Files from your previous version are there.
However, I urge you to call Adobe support to make sure you are not doing anything that would mess up other Adobe applications.

If you have Lightroom 5 Subscription then you can install and activate it on 2 machines. You just have to download Creative Cloud Desktop apps from the below mentioned website and use your Adobe ID and password to activate.

Try updating directly on the device, via iTunes on the computer, and iTunes on a different computer.
If the iPhone has been hacked or jailbroken, it may not be possible to update. -
I am trying to open 20-25 files at the same time as Photoshop Raw [*.RAW] files.
The only way I can open multiple files is if i leave the file type as All Formats. When I change it to Photoshop Raw [*.RAW], the files a deselected.Use bridge. Select all the files then press ctrl-r or cmd-r to load the selected files into camera raw.
If you try this in Photoshop use File>Open As then for file type choose camera raw. (I have not tested open as for opening multiple files) -
I got a new ipod touch for Christmas.
Today I was going to put music on it, i was told there was updates.
So I went ahead to do them.
My Ipod is stuck on the screen with the usb cord pointing to the itunes logo.
In Itunes i'm told :
Itunes has dected an ipod in recovery mode. You must restore this ipod before it can be used with itunes.
Turning the ipod off - the same screen appears when it's back on.
When I click restore ipod and after restore and update is clicked ; Extracting software loads up at the top.
When its done this is the message I get:
The iPod 'iPod' cannot be restored at this time because the ipod software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.
I've been looking up trying to figure it out myself and have read making sure a setting in Lan Settings in Internet Properties has ; Automatically detect settings checked. I still get the same ipod message.
I've tried holding the power and home key to turn it off, then powering it back on. But that doesn't work.
I installed itunes today, so its up to date - I checked.
I don't know what else to do.
Can someone help me out, please? :}

I have been buying and using Adobe Photoshop through numerous versions over the past several decades. and I used to recommend it whenever I had an opportunity. Now I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. I could say a lot more than that, using words my parents taught me to not use.
Adobe now has their head in the clouds and doesn't care a whit about faithful customers.
I had CS3 on one machine, CS4 on another, and CS6 on another one. The hard drive on the machine with CS3 and had to be replaced. I am trying to install CS3 back on the same computer, but Adobe will not let me activate it, even though I am trying to put it on the computer it was originally on. I paid for it, I have gone by the rules, and Adobe will not even talk to me. And as far as I can determine, Adobe is so far out in the clouds that it has nothing but contempt for the people that kept them in business for decades!
What I would really like to do is move CS4 onto the machine that originally had CS3 on it, and put CS3 onto the machine that now has CS4, but I assume nobody at Adobe cases what I would like, even though I paid for the software and have no intention of trying to have it installed on more than one machine at a time.

I thought about trying to install CS6 on the old computer, but CS6 is on my wife’s computer, and we are often both using Photoshop at the same time. I will probably install it on her notebook computer – if they will let me.

Running multiple Photoshops on the same version?
Is there a way to run more than one version of photoshop on the same computer?
You could do it with a virtual machine but I'd like to know if there are other options.
My system has a 6-core CPU (12 threads) and most of my cores are idle all the time.
I work a lot with very heavy files for large format printing that need to be flattened, rasterized, and so on.

I have a decently large PDF file (one of my books). It is 348MB, 165 pages and contains about 70 full page high resolution images.
I copied the file (to better simulate two different documents), and set Photoshop CS4 x64 and Photoshop Elements 7 (two versions I have installed on a multiprocessor computer otherwise doing very little right now) to open the first set of 10 pages and the second set of 10 pages at 600 ppi respectively. Each rasterized image came out to about 100 MB.
Photoshop alone rasterized the 10 pages in 6 minutes 35 seconds at a rate of about 40 seconds per page. It mostly used just 1 thread, as you have described.
With Photoshop and Photoshop Elements working simultaneously on the task, the page rate in Photoshop went down to almost 60 seconds per page (and it finished first). Elements took 90 seconds per page on the first 6 pages (while Photoshop was rasterizing). It was slower likely because it is a 32 bit app.
Surprisingly, the apps didn't demand too big a memory footprint and didn't even come close to chewing up the entire 8 GB. I assume they hit the scratch disk reasonably hard, and in my case that would be the same drive for both. You might be able to do better if you have multiple candidate partitions for use as scratch.
This workstation (a Dell Precision 470 with 8 GB RAM), while older and not nearly as powerful as yours, is good at multitasking as it has two separate Xeon processors, each with one core and Hyperthreading (Task Manager shows 4 threads available).
Tentative Conclusion: You'll see an incremental throughput gain by running two rasterizations, but not nearly 7 to 1 as your benchmark shows. Probably more like 1.5 to 1.

I installed the latest version of icloud control panel (allegedly Windows 8 compatible) on my Windows 8 laptop. Installation successful, but on clicking on the icloud icon nothing happens. The same software worked on my Windows 7 PC.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

It sounds like you are unable to make any calls, but you can recieve them, and everything else seems to work fine. I recommend you use the troubleshooting in the following article to help you get that resolved, named:
iPhone: Troubleshooting issues making or receiving calls
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue. Please test after each step.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Check your phone settings:
Check your Do Not Disturb settings: Tap Settings > Do Not Disturb.
Check for any blocked phone numbers: Tap Settings > Phone > Blocked.
See if Call Forwarding is turned on: Tap Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.

Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.

I have an issue from Septembers security updates where three updates from the same software update group are showing as unknown status rather than required / not required / installed etc.
There are multiple other updates in the same update group and they are all displaying correctly with the figures I would roughly expect.
I would have expected if something was wrong with the clients not returning software update scans that all the updates in this software update group (all deployed automatically as part of the same ADR) would show the same status of unknown, rather than just
three of them.
The updates in question are: KB2894842, KB2972215 & KB2977629 (First two .net 4.0 and last one IE11).
Now these updates would largely be not required in our organisation as for the most part we use different versions so I would expect them to show as not required.
Short of kicking off a mass software update scan cycle I don't know a) why this has happened b) if a scan cycle will fix it. Our clients scan every week and its been several weeks since the updates were deployed, that and the other updates have all reported
back in.
Anyone have any ideas? Its making the compliance results look quite poor :(
