Is this really an end user tool?

The documentation that I've read so far describes Discoverer as a reporting and ad/hoc query tool for the end users. True? Is this product usually rolled out to the end users? Is there minimal or substantial training involved?

We are using it as such. We've found that users find the tool itself easy to grasp. The harder part is understanding the data and how it's organized. Turning users loose on a relational database was a nightmare. Now that we have a much simplified data warehouse available it works much better, since they can more easily find what they need.

If you look at the top left of your screen you will either see a 3G (or 4G if you have AT&T) or you will see the wi-fi symbol. If you don't see the wi-fi symbol you are connecting to Gmail through your cellular data plan, not via wi-fi.
To answer your question, it doesn't happen often but when it does the steps I mentioned above will normally resolve it. Hopefully you won't have any further problem with this.

Well, it's been a sad week as it really looks as if my G5 dp 2.0GHZ tower has finally gone to the great PC in the sky.
I spent four days trying to resurrect the old beast which started acting erratically - with delays, freezes and ultra-fast flashing buttons (?). Thought it was the clock battery as it did something similar before, but alas not. Eventually managed to get the DVD drive to run hardware tools and came up as a failed logic board. The prices I can see online for a repair have been too much - about $800, so have invested in a new iMac.
My question is - is this common enough for apple to assist? I know this is an old machine and well past the applecare warranty, but I can't help but feel a bit short-changed as it does look like a common fault, if online comments are to be believed. Suffice to say the computer was well looked after, updated properly and was cleaned properly.

You don't have access to any End User Layer table

Hi
When I created a EUL using Discoverer admin, and also created a business area successfully, then I can't logon using same username in Discoverer desktop, My Discoverer version is 4.1.37. when I logon, I received error message read: You don't have access to any End User Layer table.
Could someone please give me some instruction, or guide me to do something.

You should not be able to connect to an Apps mode EUL as an end user in the end user tools.
As for administration, you need to log in as the owner of the EUL, a database user, and then assign admin rights to an Apps account. Many companies use the SYSADMIN Apps account for this purpose. After you have assigned an Apps user to have admin rights don't forget to grant that user admin privileges over each of your business areas.,
With this done you should then manage your Discoverer administration using the Apps account.

Form Designed in LiveCycle will not work for End User

Please Help!
I am a newbie to Adobe LiveCycle but recognized the utility in the program, so decided to give it a while to try and streamline some of my employer's forms. After spending too much time learning how to design a form (much to the dislike of my boss), I am finally going to have to ask for some help. So here's the deal:
I've designed a dynamic pdf in LiveCycle with two master pages and two repeating flowed subforms. The first repeating subform is basically an expanding table intended to be used as a photographer's log where they can log each photo taken with the camera. The expanding table has some code with a button at the top for the end user to enter the number of photos on the photo roll, click submit, and table expands to however many instances of rows are needed for each photo that was taken. The second subform is basically an image field and text fields used as photo captions/photo compilation pages. When the end user clicks submit on the first subform to expand the table, I also have javascript in that click event to also create same amouint of instances of the second subform (the photo compilation page(s)). Each text field for the photo caption on the second subform is populated by the data entered into the photo log table cells. I was able to find a script to correctly populate those fields for each instance of the table. Wish I had the form here, but it's at work at the moment.
My problem is this: I've scratched and clawed to get all of the forms expanding correctly and the scripts populating each instance of the fields correctly and everything works great in LiveCycle preview. I then saved the form as PDF for use by my field crew personnel (whom all use, at the very least, Adobe Pro 9, but most Pro X). I sent the new form to them and they move it to their desktop, open it with Adobe Pro, and populate all of the fields and everything works swimmingly. However, once they save it, it gets all jumbled and they can't even print it. We even thought we found a workaround by entering all data and printing to PDF, but even that has turned out to not work. I checked to make sure that I designed and saved the form in LiveCycle for use with the Adobe Pro versions, but still not working for my end users.
Anyone have any thoughts on my long explanation?? Please HELLLLPPPP!

The error(s) occur when trying to save the document. I want each user to tell the first page how many rows they will need in the photo log table, so they would enter however many photos were taken in the box: "Number of Photos on Roll:" ---> Then click the "Submit" cmd button. That should expand the table. Once it expands, it should also add the same amount of instances of the photo compilation page (2nd Page) as there are rows in 1st page table. Then the user will populate each cell of the table on page 1 with data. The data entered into the page 1 table cells will populate the text fields (photo caption) in Page 2 once the user clicks on the "Populate Captions!" cmd button in the lower left corner of the table on Page 1.
The problem is in the distributing of the form to the user so they can save the form after populating the data. I did a test run this morning and for some reason it did do the "print to PDF" correctly for 5 photos on the roll (though this has not been happening every time and especially for a large number of pages, ie. 80 photos). However, after entering the data for 5 rows on page 1 and then populating the 5 photo compilation pages, I saved a copy as "Save As PDF" and closed the document. Then re-opened the copy in Acrobat Pro X. The new copy:
-had 5 additional rows added to Page 1
-Duplicates of some of the fields
-Only retained the 1st instance of the Second Page (Photo w/ Caption) and not all fields were populated
Again, this all works fine in the LiveCycle Preview but not anywhere else. I do not have this set up to be linked to an external data source (YET) but there is javascript in the cmd buttons. I also do not want to distribute this form to end users and then collect the data back from them. I want them to be able to save a copy of my LiveCycle designed form, open in Adobe Pro, populate the data and save as many copies as needed for form production.

In this case the end user/basis team/ ie basically who ever is responsible for monitoring has to go to transaction WE02/WE05 to monitor if any error has occured in posting the application document.
if any error is there in WE02 then he can go to transaction BD87 and repost the idocs.

Find Task usage for end user

I want to use find task functionality on enduser interface. I configured a link for findtask.jsp on end user page. But on selecting the link; it redirect to admin user interface and prompts for login. Any idea why it's redirecting there and what can be done so that it works on the end user inteface only. The idea is to give this functionality to end user so that he is able to search any workflow task in IDM.
Let me know if anybody has provided similar solution or used this feature on end user interface.

JOGL End User Files

I am creating a program with JOGL, which requires the jogl.jar file and the jogl.dll file. The jogl.jar must be in the ClassPath and the jogl.dll must be in the java.library.path.
SO I have two questions:
1. How do I, on my computer, change my java.library.path permenantly (not just dynamically every time i run the program). I looked in My Computer---Environment Variables, but didnt see it.
2. What is the best way to get a program like this to the end-user? I think i'll have to include the above 2 files in the package I give them, but how will I load the dll?

End user complication

I have created an entire help system for a suite of
applications. When I delivered the "chm" file, I also delivered the
HHActiveX.DLL file. The problem is: In composing the help system, I
setup two windows. One window topic is designed to stay on top as a
control help, and the other topics are included in the Main Window
System. This works as it should on my system, but when the end user
opens it, the window that designed to only show the one topic with
no navigational pane, opens with the navigations. Can someone tell
me what I can do to fix this for the end user? I selected the
"always on top" for the small window that holds the one guidance
topic, but it still opens on the end user's system with the
navigation pain. Please help if you can. Thanks.

What is not clear to me is how both windows are opened. I'm
assuming you have some code/script added to the CHM or the
application to open the small window whenever the main CHM is
opened? Can you give us a bit more detail.

Why Does an End-User's Availability Change?

This time the end-user is me. I upgraded from OCS to Lync 2013 and if I change my availability to Busy, and leave my desk for a short time, when I come back my avilablity has changed to Available.
Why does this happen and how can I prevent it? We are getting ready to do a mass deployment, and I'd like to resolve this before then.

Normally, your presence should change to away after you lock the computer.
Please check if this problem persists with Lync 2010.
Did you have this problem after you migrated from OCS?
Please check if a new Lync enabled user has the same problem on your computer.
Check if you still have the problem on another computer.
If the problem is related with your Lync client, you can try to repair Office on your computer.

End User GUI

We've just rolled out a UC560 with several SPA514 and 7965 IP phones. Our goal is to provide users with more access to their phone configuration. Is it possible that we set up our end users with a GUI to configure their speed dial buttons and speed dial settings? If it is possible, where might I find instructions or help to configure this for our end users?

Thank you for the help. Yes, I was able to log into the GUI for the user to configure the phone. I think because the system was originally set up using CLI, there are very few options to modify. The only changes that can be made are adding Speed-Dial and the Persoanl Fastdial--but the speed-dial settings are not applied to the phone (Or I don't know how to access them).
As for the Line Information, none of that can be modified, except the status option, i.e. Normal Ring, Watch, Silent, Monitor, ect. Should the user have the ability to modify which lines they watch?

Here it is. It does the same items that the DPM tool does to the domain, with a few extra steps noted at the top.
We create a group that has the permissions on the container, with the hope that one day, this feature will be available (DCR submitted). In our support model, we would rather delegate permissions to support personnel to modify group membership than
modify ACLs on system containers.    Your opinion on this may differ, so, feel free to remove it.
It also gives our support personnel permissions to modify the sharemap container - so they can enable DPM EUR servers later.
Both of these have been working fine for preparing a domain / enabling EUR. Preparing the domain is run by domain admin, then, we leave enabling EUR to our support staff.
Remember, this is not supported, this just makes the same changes that the EUR tool does. You should use the EUR tool from Microsoft.
