Is this really how it's supposed to iWork?

I have been trying to get into the iWork/iCloud way of doing things but it seems so much more laborious to do simple things.
(Pages) Documents need emailing. These documents will be emailed in a Word format 9 times out of 10 so they're widely compatible. Then why is iCloud so predisposed to make this harder than it needs to be?
Example: You are emailing back n forth about a project for which a final document will be agreed upon by several parties, all cc'd. That document will be edited several times, distributed, feedback will be given (usually on the email thread) and you'll make those changes and redistribute.
This is a ball ache with documents in the iCloud. I presume Apple wants me to send the newly updated document from within the open document menu 'Share' and there I can chose 'As a Word file'. This isn't convenient in a usual workflow with continuous edits. Not to mention that you cannot send multiple documents in the Word format this way. So (in my case) an updated Biog. & Press Release would need to be sent round in separate emails. Ridiculous.
If I were happy to email the document in the Pages format then, of course I could send two, three, as many as I like in one click.
But there's no reason for this. On the iCloud "finder" window, where the documents you can see all your documents there is a shortcut to Share (via Message, Email or AirDrop). Why can't the Share via Email option offer sub options of format (Word, Pages and PDF)..??
It would be so simple and save us users so much bother.
Does anyone know of a Terminal hack to automatically format Pages docs to Word when emailing??

@ JBMockus - Um, interesting thought although it would be appreciated if someone could kindly confirm that possibility. Just for clarity, these 13 images are in a collection with twelve of them being the original RAW files having only been edited in LR and retaining their original file names e.g. IMG_1234.CR2. The remaining one TIFF file in the collection which was initially edited in LR and then further edited in CS3 has the file name IMG_5678-Edit.tif (the IMG_5678 part being of course the parent CR2 file name. However, the parent (original) CR2 file is NOT in the collection.
When these 13 images are Exported and converted into JPEGs choosing the rename option but retain original file name, the 12 CR2 files are renamed i.e. Tuscany-1234 whilst the converted TIFF only has the prefix Tuscany on the now converted file with no original file number having been added i.e. the 5678 number.
I haven't tried it, but as things stand it wouldn't be hard to imagine that if all 13 files in the collection had been TIFFs and Exported to JPEGs then they would all simply have had the prefix Tuscany added with no original file number making it difficult to associate the JPEG with the original RAW file later on.
