Hi,
I have been asked to create a dvd that delivers information from a leaflet in video form, in sign language.
The DVD will need a main menu with 10 options, each of those options will have a sub menu and the links on the sub menu would lead to a screen with a video playing at the right side (not full screen) and scrolling text on the left.
The text may be shown in small chunks, in time with what is being shown on the video.
Is Encore DVD the right software to carry out this task? I already own after effects and premiere.

Yes.
You will need to create the video segments (the scrolling titles and inset videos) in Premiere or AE.
Import them into Encore and add them to individual timelines. Create the menus from Encore's included templates or roll your own. Link the menu buttons to other menus and to the timelines to create your disc navigation.
If you want a "Play All" feature for all of the video segments, that is also do-able, but may require a different approach to creating the original video in PPro or AE, and to creating timelines in Encore.
I cannot overemphasize the critical importance of planning out your project before you do anything in Encore or any other DVD authoring application. Draw a flowchart with exactly how you want your DVD navigation to work and be sure to include both the paths the audience will take to get the videos, and the path that they will use to get back.

I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S, 16 GB to the most recent version (8.1?). I don't know what I was updating from, because I can't access that, but it was whatever was installed on it (I got it about a year ago, so probably 6.something).
It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync with my macbook plus, which is what I have always sync'd it to. (I backed it up and sync'd it right before I tried to update the software.)
Since it originally froze almost 3 hours ago, it shows a white screen with the apple on it and a line underneath. When I try to sync with my laptop, it says it needs me to enter a passcode on the phone, which I can't enter because the screen is frozen. So I'm unable to access the iPhone portion of iTunes.
I have tried to turn it off, with no luck. I have tried rebooting my laptop and syncing, but I still get the same result.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I really wanted to wait to update the software, but I was having internet connectivity issues for the past 3 weeks, and Sprint suggested updating the phone's software.

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPhone won't update and is stuck. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

I tried to update my ipad air from IOS 7.0.4 to 7.1 on iTunes. I clicked download and update, it started to download normally but when download finished iTunes shows error that "The software for the iphone was corrupted during download".
How can I fix this error ?I had the same problem. In the end I downloaded it manually. Here's the steps assuming you are on a Mac and have an iPad Air (Wifi). If not you can find other restore links here.
In the terminal (it kept failing to download in Safari):

Once the file has downloaded, move it to ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates/
Quit and relaunch iTunes.

I am trying to download an update to my iphone, but in the middle of the download, I get an error message that reads, 'There was problem downloading the software for the iphone. The network connection timed out'. Any idea how to reslove this issue?

I have done several "attempted downloads, and see the full file download, typically taking 30 minutes to complete, and then something goes wrong.
I am happy to suspend AV and FW software, but would like to know if it is a good fix or not first?

Yep, me to exactly the same problem, the error message keeps telling me to check my internet connection or try later. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. Is it an apple server problem?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times. When I connect my iPod Classic I get the following message: The software for this iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software. Any ideas?
Assuming you have windows, try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

I am buying an Epson scanner. I am told it is compatible with an Apple Computer, is that correct? I have been told to get Acrobat XI Pro as the software for the scanner. Is that correct? Will this also scan handwritten documents into a Word document?

We have no idea, and it isn't really our thing.

Acrobat XI Pro is available for Mac and is an excellent tool for making PDFs. We can't say whether it will work with the scanner. It depends what drivers Epson provide.

That's not what Acrobat is for. It is for making PDFs. To make handwritten documents into Word documents, you'd just scan as graphics, and insert each graphic on a new page of the Word document. They will remain pictures of text, not something you can edit or copy/paste. -

Temporarily disable or turn off your Firewall and Anti-Virus software and try the download again.

Try to restore from another known-good computer and network. -
I am trying to install a printer Epson xp-605 but when i try to add it, Apple says it can't find the software. I have downloaded the software from Apple website and also from the Epson installation disc! The message is: "The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Try a reset of the printing system. This often resolves the symptom you are experiencing.

As part of my Photoshop and Lightroom subscription I understand I get the software for 2 devices activated at a time. Is the mobile version for my iPad in addition to this or would it be one of the 2 devices?

I have an IMAC and purchased OS X Lion to upgrade from the APP store, and launched the software for downloading, and I have been waiting on this for an hour, and it still says it's downloading? What do I do next?

The OS X Lion installer takes more than 4 GB of space, so it is normal for most Internet connections to take the download more than an hour.
If you want to see the download progress, open the Mac App Store and go to Purchases.
Before upgrading, make a backup of your files with Time Machine and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com -
