Why can't I use this the tool hdparm?

Yes it is. It is provided by netconfig RPM package.
You can also use system-config-network command (provided by system-config-network RPM package) or you can set network manuall as well.

What does it mean?

/oracle/oms10g/Apache/Apache/bin/httpd: error while loading shared libraries: libdb.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
simple make the link "ln -s libdb.so.3 libdb.so.2" in the /usr/lib directory.

Dear All
I have the same problem when installing Oracle9iasR2 on a windows 2000 IBM server
At the database configuration Assistant of the infrastructutre installation I am always getting this strange message Not a ZIP file (End Header Not found).
We have tried a lot off scenarios to install Oracle9iasr2 but the installation always fails at the database creation with the followning message
Not a ZIP file (End Header Not found).
We had also tried to do the installation using a different copy of CD's with no success.
Also the same installation on the same server was succesfull with O/S Win2003.
Then the whole installation fails .
If anyone has ever faced the same problem and had solved it please advice.

On ALE / EDI interface, you can use Message DOCMAS for triggering the outbound IDocs, you can use Program: RBDSEDOC
For ALE / EDI Configuration, you can refer the book by Arvand Nagpal which is a step by step guide.

You can go to Common Services > Software Center > Device Update, click the the RME link, and search for GenericDev. If you find it, then you have the package installed. For any device which has a sysObjectID which RME doesn't recognize with a specific package, this package will be tried instead.
If you find that the package is not already installed, perform a device update for RME, and download and install all available device packages.

Is there any Scripting tool available?

I am brand new to Web AS and wondering is there any command line scripting tool available within Web AS? For example, something similar to BEA's WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) that is based on Jython or IBMs WebSphere Administrative (wsadmin) that is based on Jacl and Jython.

Yes, I believe you can use any text editor, including a javascript editors to write serverside AS, but may not get intellisense in most of those editors while coding.

What are the tools available for gps NMEA data streams reception ?

Since no software for bluetooth connection for my Holux GPS device to my iPad2, I plan to write one myself. What are thr tools available and what is the simplest development platform just for this simple task? That is just to read the NMEA ASCII stream from the Bluetooth device.

It depends on what 'interprocess communication' your "app" program has available.
I regulary use DDE to control a PLL App which controls our PLL via the LPT Port. This is only a write process, but works very easily. The read is equaly easy. You need to know the various "keywords" like service, topic and instruction which the "app" will respond to.
Generaly I found ActieX to be more extensive, meaning its probably going to take longer and more steps to achive similar simple results.
The file does not seem to be the best way.

HT5254 Flashback Removal Tools available for those WITHOUT Java installed?

Apple's own KB says that this tool is available for "OS X v10.7 or later without Java installed". Is this a typo? Am I missing something? (I do that from time-to-time.)
You must have Java installed in order to become infected by Flashback.
I have Java installed, and when I ran Software Update, there was nothing new available. Can anyone with Java installed confirm that they were able to download and run this tool via Software Update?

Okay, as long as the recent Java update performed the same job and removed the malware, I guess Java users are in good shape.
I never had Flashback in any case, but this KB was confusingly worded—at least to me.

Clone&Test tool availability for 4.6C HCM systems

Hi Experts!
We are about to migrate the personnel masterfile from a 4.6C standalone HCM system into the companie's central ECC 6.0 system.
To get rid of the problem with the collision of personnel numbers (numbers from the 4.6C system are already existing for another employee in the central ECC 6.0 system) we wan to use the tool Clone&Test from Accenture (former Pecaso).
Now we have heard from consultants that Clone&Test does only work for source systems of release 4.7 or higher but in product folders we read that the tool would be available for 4.5, 4.6, 4.7.
Has anybody there experiences with that tool and can give reliable advice? Your help is really appreciated.

We are using this tool from 2 years. It is very useful and helps a lot in data migration from system to system. Also for coping data from Productive system to Quality in case of issue where it is really important to simulate 100% the same issue, for example ECM. It transfers almost all employee data, including Payroll clusters; it transfers all OM, PD, TE data (HRP infotypes). It can anonimize data you transfer using various scenarios.
I really like the tool and it is great help in my work!
We use my SAP ERP 2004.
This year we need to migrate 1 country which uses 4.6C to the system where most countries from group are operating. The plan is that we use Clone & Test for that. As I am not directly dealing with licenses I will check with colleagues do we have confirmation from Acenture that tool can be used for 4.6C..
I will update you as soon as I have the answer.

I just started reading about JNDI 2 days ago and have never used it. I'd like to use DataSource in my application with JNDI. If I can use the database as my JNDI "server", then I'd prefer to do that instead of having a seperate external server.

Is there a mass comparison tool available? I have over hundred programs in QA environment which must be compared to their counterpart in the DEV environment. Currently the only way I know is to go through the list and compare one at a time which is very tedious, time consuming and error prone. So, an alternative to this is most welcome.

I would create a simple eCATT testscript for transaction SE39 (Split-screen Editor) where you compare the source on DEV vs. QA system. When you push the "Comparison On" button in the split-screen editor you will get the message "The Programs are not identical" (EDCMP, 417) if the two sources are not identical.
This way you can restrict the number of program objects which actually differ on DEV vs. QA.
