I was told today by Apple phone support that I was entitle to the Apple phone support "for the life of the phone" (what does "life of the phone" mean? When is it slated to "die"?)

i think it just means, as long as you own the iPhone, you have the support for it.

Your phone has been hacked to make it work where you now live. Thus, updating software or restoring your phone will re-lock it to AT&T. Since AT&T will not unlock an iPhone for anyone for any reason, there is no way to get your phone officially unlocked. If you update software or restore the phone, you will have to hack it again. This will also require the last AT&T sim card that was used in the phone.

Add-ons contain a range of compatible Firefox versions, and Firefox honors the listed range by disabling the add-on if you are trying to run it on an unlisted version.
I'm sure Yahoo! will update its toolbar eventually, but not every add-on maker supports beta versions of software.

The article is misleading. As written it looks like it is being blocked, but it is the click to play feature they are talking about.

The only "unlimited" plan I can think of where this would not apply is the old Connect plan for multimedia/basic phones. That unlimited data, on devices such as the LG Voyager, EnvTouch, and other "multimedia" devices is not the same.
If you currently have an individual $29.99 unlimited data plan with a 3G Smartphone, then you can buy a BBQ10 retail and activate it with the same data plan and keep the unlimited.

That's exactly why I cloned OS X 10.6.8 onto another partition of my internal drive before installing Lion - so I could boot to it and run things like Diablo II (LOD).
Old software can't be supported forever. I still have a G4 which boots to OS 9 bcause of things I like to use which can't be used in OS X.
It's a shame Blizzard elected to write the OS X front end for LOD as PPC software rather than as OS X native software. But, that was their decision, not Apple's.

Word Processing documents can be opened directly in Pages 4 (AppleWorks 6 only) but this is no longer available from Apple - the new Pages 5 (Mavericks required) does not open AppleWorks documents. Nothing will open Database documents. You would need to export the data as ASCII and import it into another database program; you will lose your formatting and calculations will come over as the result, not the calculation.

That's because part of iOS7 had code in it to look for and recognize unsigned cables.
In other words, Apple knew that people used non-signed ones and didn't care....until last month when they decided to care. People with iOS6 and lower should experience no issues (unless Apple patches those iOS versions) but folks with iOS7 will need to deal with it.

you can use the same itunes id for purchases and so on, but have separate icloud id's for imessaging and all the icloud stuff. it's not preferable, but it isn't a problem either.

You made a purchase and exhausted the credit on your card before it processed. All purchases are final. Contact iTunes Store support. You need to settle up before you can purchase or download anything else.

This explains how to change your ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621. After changing your ID you will need to go to Settings>iCloud, delete the existing account (which only deletes it from your device, not from iCloud), then sign back in with the new ID. To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll before deleting the existing account.
If you are signed into your account on your Mac, you will need to go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.

Media should be included with the backup of the computer that all users should be creating on a regular basis as part of basic computer/data maintenance.
In the event that you do not have a backup (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files)
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content. They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes. On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer. Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this.
