Is this way of deploying code to customers governerd by SAP liscense?

SAP Transport System: Using Transports to store our code in a transport. When this transport is released, two files are generated in DIR_TRANS in DATA directory and COFILES directory, where the name contains the number-part of the transport request. As these Files can be imported to any other SAP system of the same release,  so my question is deploying code by providing those transports requests to customers/clients, is this practice considered ok or is it governed by any SAP licenses?
These transports contain our Custom RFCs and Custom Reports
Please advice

I have seen this being done. Not sure about Legality. there are some technicle issues if you want to edit those objects in the target system.
If you get your product certified by SAP, then you can use ABAP Add on Kit & create ABAP Add ON which can be installed on any SAP system.
insted of Co & Data files you get one SAR file.

  • What is the best way to deploy/update custom security realm classes to WLS 6.0?

From the WLS 6.0 console, I see that I can specify the Java class that
implements my custom security realm but I am wondering what is the best way
to deploy/update this code. I don't see a way to do this from the console.
Does this mean that I have to manually copy the class files over that
    implement my custom security realm?

    Thanks Danut,
A jar file seems to be a good way to package it up but it sounds like it
still needs to be manually copied to each Weblogic server install directory
post-installation and whenever it is updated. I thought it would be nice to
be able to deploy/update the custom security realm by uploading it through
the Console just as you can with web applications and EJBs.

You have to have your Custom Realm class in the class path. I usually havea
jar file with all the Custom Realm classes and that jar I copy it in thelib
folder. Then I modify "startWebLogic.cmd" and I add to the classpath
    ".\lib\CustomRealm.jar"
    set
    CLASSPATH=.;.\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;.\lib\weblogic.jar;.\lib\CustomRealm.jar;

Be aware that in order to have you custom realm besides creating thecustom
realm using the console you also have to create a custom caching andchoose
that one as your default caching realm.
Here is how the security settings are looking in my "config.xml"
    <CustomRealm Name="CustomRealm"
    RealmClassName="Custom.appserver.weblogic.security.CustomRealm"/>
    <CachingRealm BasicRealm="CustomRealm" CacheCaseSensitive="true"
    Name="CustomCachingRealm"/>
    <Realm CachingRealm="CustomCachingRealm" FileRealm="wl_default_file_realm"
    Name="wl_default_realm"/>
    <FileRealm Name="wl_default_file_realm"/>
    <Security GuestDisabled="false"

  • Best way to deploy & manage app's (centrally)

IPCU is a pretty cool utility, but I'm having issues successfully pushing & managing apps (updates) from my Mac Pro (9 ipad 2's through my company).
Can anybody recommend some "best practice" to deploy company purchased apps (Such as Keynote, Pages, Numbers) to all iPad's (9 in total) while at the same time, maintaining user ability to sync their devices with their own home iTunes accounts? This way, they won't have to be in the office and be limited to syncing it to the Mac Pro (if I'm not in the office, if they're not able to come into the office, etc...).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

Provide the users with the redeem code when the app is first purchased using the company account or have the users reimbursed after they purchase the app.  Actually, Apple needs to set up an enterprise volume store much like the one they have set up for education volume users.

  • Best way to deploy APEX for a customer

I have a customer who has Oracle 11GR2 Standard Edition for Windows in production and I am teaching them how to use develop using APEX, but I don't quite understand how to deploy it. The Apex Listener documentation talks about OracleGlass, WLS, and OC4J, but those are all products that my client is not licensed for. There is a way to deploy the Apex Listener standalone but several threads say that should not be used for production, and I don't see a way to automate the restart of the standalone listener on Windows after a reboot; it's not a service. I read a somewhat relevant thread with comments from UDO and Kris Rice but I doesn't seem to clarify.
Is there a production-quality way to deploy the Apex Listener without having to pay for GlassFish/WLS etc... licenses?
Here's the thread with comments from Udo and Kris, but I don't think it answers the question, or I don't understand the answer:
    Re: License/Cost for APEX Listener

    Hi Ron,
you can deploy APEX Listener in the so called Standalone Mode and have it licensed (and supported) with your customers 11.2 SE. As you've already mentioned, the embedded container doesn't have features like running as a service. You could add that kind of functionality with service wrappers such as nssm or srvany, as described here: {message:id=9606494}, but this scenario won't be supported by Oracle as the service wrapper is not part of their product.
If you (or effectively your customer) don't need (want to pay) support for Oracle, you don't necessarily need one of the named licensed JEE containers. You could use GlassFish Open Source Edition (which works pretty similar to the supported and documented one from the APEX Listener point of view), or even Tomcat (which has been supported by Kris during EA phase but had to be dropped officially, probably because Oracle can/will only support their own products - which I think is understandable).
I hope I could answer your license-deployment-question. If I didn't hit your point, please let me know what I need to explain better.

  • What is the best way to deploy an application ??

    Hi,
Please advise me how to automate in a best way to Deploy 10 different applications(.ear/.war)
to 10 different Clusters(containing 40 Managed servers) in wls6.1......and that
    too in a Production environment.
I know that we can use weblogic Console to deploy an application BUT if i have
2 unix boxes and each box contains 4-4 clusters(each containing 16-20 managed
servers) .....then i have to open up 2 Admin server consoles to deploy each of
the respective applications and that too deploying these application to 8 clusters.....OR
i can use deploy commad to do the same.
AND if i have like 100 clusters .....then i would have to "deploy" 100 times ......
is there any way that we can BEST AUTOMATE this process.
    Thanks a lot.

Thanks Tommy. but i would like to know a very important point here: this is using
the weblogic.utility that you just talkd about.
Suppose iam having an ADMIN server that has say 10 clusters and 50 managed servers
    underneath to take care.
    1 cluster each = 5 managed server
now iam deploying a simple .war file to say a single managed server, i have found
out that it takes a looot of time to get the application deployed.
what do you say about this situation ?
what is the best approach ??????

To deploy the application from the command prompt in WebLogic 6.1 you
    use the
    following command
    $JAVA_HOME/bin/java -cp $WL_HOME/weblogic.jar weblogic.deploy -port $WEBLOGIC_PORT
    -host $WL_HOST_IP $WEBLOGIC_CMD $WEBLOGIC_PWD -component $WL_Server_NAME:$WL_Server_NAME
    $WL_APPLICATION_NAME YourApplication.war
$WEBLOGIC_CMD sould be DEPLOY for the first time deployment and UPDATE
    for redeployment
For deploying in a cluster you better create a shell script which call
    the above
command with different cluster ip address as a parameter.

Rob, do you still consider or suggest using ANT for deploying say

do you see any advantages using [ANT + weblogic.deploy]..... over

  • On file open: "This document contains JavaScript code for a widget that no longer exists."

I had an existing, functional datepicker in a web page.
Recently I downloaded the UI Datepicker in the Widget Browser and installed it in DW CS5. Now every time I load the file that calls the datepicker that I added myself, a warning opens with the following text:
This document contains JavaScript code for a widget that no longer exists. If you don't remove the code, the browser might display JavaScript errors when loading the page. Would you like Dreamweaver to find all instances of this code for you?
    Widget: $("#reservDateBegin").datepicker();
    Widget: $("#reservDateEnd").datepicker();
Clicking "Yes" opens the file and shows the search box at the bottom of the window with [current document] in File and $("#reservDateEnd").datepicker(); in Matched Text. Clicking "No" just opens the file.
The error is wrong, since installing the widget is what caused the error in the first place!
How can I get DW to stop showing this message?
    Thanks for any help.

I do understand you're trying to be helpful. I was just hoping providing the relevant code snippets would be sufficient so I didn't have to take the time to provide a "cleaned" version of the files and upload those to a public-safe location.
Zabeth69 wrote: If you don't understand what 'code at the bottom of the page' means, you have not used one of those systems. I don't know what causes the error code to come up (besides removing a Spry widget, I mean). So if it doesn't apply to you, ignore it.
This is exactly my point: I haven't used any of the DW "systems". I've always manually coded in DW, so I can't have removed a Spry widget in the first place. It wasn't until I installed the Widget using the Widget Browser that I started getting the error (I don't mean adding the datepicker widget to the code using the DW Insert menu - I mean installing the Widget into DW itself). Ignoring such an erroneous/incorrect error seems kind of silly, since every time I open the file I get the error message.
Anyway, as requested, the following are links to the contactUsCleaned.php page, and the php included headerCleaned.php file. Since these use php includes to complete the rendered HTML, they won't look right in the browser, but as you know viewing the source will show the relevant html, javascript, and jquery code. I didn't see any way to upload the files in this forum, which, due to the php code, would be preferable to see exactly what my code looks like...
    http://www.eventidewebdesign.com/public/contactUsCleaned.php
    http://www.eventidewebdesign.com/public/headerCleaned.php
The footer.php file the contactUs page includes is simply a set of HTML links to the pages on the site, copyright info, and the Google Analytics script. There is no other code in the footer.php file.

  • What is the best way to deploy application that uses web services?

    Hi all,
I'm having some problems figuring out the best way to deploy our app now that we've switched over to using web services.
I'm fairly new to Java and web services. From what I understand, JNLP and WebStart are methods to deploy Java clients to users and not for creating war files and the like.
    Here's a little background:
We have a large PowerBuilder/Oracle application. The db consists of over 500 tables and the client consists of several thousand PB components. A user creates "transactions" which contain a series of "sub-transactions" within. Most of the data is collected and stored locally in the client in a series of datastores. When the "finalize" happens, the records are validated and sent to the database.
We are in the process of moving each of the subtransactions (currently in the PB client) into subPROCESSES on a java project. We are using the JAX-WS framework to develop the web services in Netbeans. These web services aren't much more than remote xml as the messaging technology. For writing data back to the database, we are using the Java Persistence API to function outside of an EJB container but will shortly be migrating to the Glassfish application server to use several of the EJB container frameworks including the EntityManager.
We haven't attempted any type of deployment and are unsure of where to start. Any suggestions would be so helpful and appreciated!
    Thanks!

It is for launching rich client GUI based (AWT, Swing, SWT..) applications onto the end-user's desktop.
There are some parts of JWS that might seem peripherally useful to the installation of a web-app., but it is really not a 'good fit'.

  • DirectAccess 2012 - Best way to deploy between two firewalls (NAT'd)

We are deploying DirectAccess 2012 and have a requirement that traffic from the internet (red) must be proxied through the DMZ (yellow) before touching anything on the internal network (green). I will initially only be configuring it to use IP-HTTPS (no
teredo). We have two firewalls, one on the perimeter (FW1), and one between the DMZ and internal networks (FW2).
I'm trying to determine the best way of deploying this in our environment. I've come up with two possibilities:
    1. Deploy with two network cards, each connected to separate DMZs. In this scenario, NIC 1 would contain the internet facing IP in DMZ 1 (say 10.10.10.2 and NAT'd by FW1), and NIC2 would contain an internal facing IP on DMZ2 (say 10.10.11.2). NIC2 would
be routable to the internal subnets via the internal firewall.
    Crude diagram:    Internet -> FW1 -> 10.10.10.2---DA---10.10.11.2 -> FW2 -> Internal network
    2. Deploy with one network card in the DMZ. This would be NAT'd by FW1, and then pass traffic through to to FW2. Since I'd be allowing all TCP/UDP traffic (as per MS) through FW2 to the primary network, this method seems unsafe to me.
    Crude diagram:   Internet -> FW1 -> 10.10.10.2---DA -> FW2 -> Internal network
What is the best and most secure way to deploy this in the DMZ? I do not want to put an internal network IP directly on the DirectAccess server, as it needs to go through FW2 before reaching internal. The DA server should be isolated in the DMZ.
    Advice is appreciated.

    Hi,
The first solution is better. The DA server is under the protection of FW1, and the DA server
already offers certain security itself, such as the requirement of a Computer Certificate, domain membership (which mean domain authentication) and so on.

Hi we have recently migrated to WAS 6.1 from 5.1.
Since then we are facing the below problem. We use ant task to call ejbDeploy.sh to generate deployment code for one of our ejb module. All i did in the ant script was changing the path to ejbdeploy tool from WAS 6.1.However the application is built finally but showing this error in the middle of running the tool.
If i replace the ejb-jar.xml to version 2.1 it is working fine with no error but as originally the application is coded on ejb 2.0 and here it is showing error.
I am afraid of changing the dtd version just to avoid this error, also running with the error in the older version would cause any problem in the production later?

I am sure all the setup is coorect.
i even tried the same script with WAS 5.1 ejbDeploy.sh tool and did not face this problem.
This is what i tried again in WAS 6.1 but with the same result.
    We had two ejb module.
I replaced dtd to version 2.1 in one module and left the other one with the 2.0
Then when the ant scripts execute the task ejbDeploy.sh
for module 1 with dtd 2.1 it shows WAS/deploytool/ipt/ejbdeploy.options not found error and stays for a second and then started building tha module 1 no exception is thrown and then shows the same not found error for module 2 with dtd 2.0 and stays forever until the connection timeout exception is thrown and then started building the module.
I don't know the cause for the timeout exception when only DTD 2.0 is used.
    Please help.

  • Different ways to deploye .par file

    Hi,
How many ways we have to deploy .par file. As per my knowledge folloing are the ways
    1. Deploying from NWDS
    2. Portal -> Java Developer -> Portal Deployment
Is there any other way to deploy the par file like we can deploy .ear files from SDM.
We would like to remove PDK. So, the Java Developer role will be deleted.
Please let me know if we have any other ways to deploy
    Thanks

    Hi Bobby,
This is another way for PAR deploy
System Administration -- Support -- Portal Runtime -- Administration Console
Apart from that you check these links out :
    Converting .EAR file to .SDA

  • Best way to deploy a new database

What is the best way to deploy a database for a user base that mostly doesn't understand how to use SQL based db products or has some understand?
I'm current working on a setup utility for my desktop application, which uses MySQL, right now I'm at a design issue where I'm not sure how to get the database deployed.
I have a creation script for deploying the database, but I'm not sure wither to create a default user, assign the rights to the user or make the user customizible. [which starts to branch off way too much] The desktop application does have an option of using an already deployed databased else where or creating one locally.
Does anyone have suggestions for deploying databases for desktop applications? I know that derby is a great solution for this, however, It is not nearly powerful enough to handle what I need a database for. [large amount of transactions and comparisons, really quickly] I also have been unable to find information on this as well.

are you talking about creating another copy of your existing DB on the same server ??
(Just wanna confirm as your last line seems to contradict with this?!?)
    2 ways:
Go for RESTORE database with the Source option pointing to one of the existing databases.
Go for COPY DATABASE (useful when the copy of the db is to be put in another server maybe..)
Note that you would need backup of the existing DB to proceed..

  • What is the best way to deploy a java application ??

    Hi,
I have a question about "deploying" a java application on to a weblogic server.
Please advise me how to automate in a best way to Deploy 10 different applications(.ear/.war) to 10 different Clusters(containing 40 Managed servers) in wls6.1......and that too in a Production environment.
I know of using Weblogic Console OR the "deploy" utility to do so ......BUT if i have like 100 clusters .....then i would have to "deploy" 100 times ......
is there any way that we can BEST AUTOMATE this process.
    Thanks a lot.

HELLO!!! WELCOME BACK!! I THINK YOU SHOULD USE
    deploy....Hey Thanks.
is there any network congestion OR any other problem that i can anticipate before i use "deploy" utility. I have heared of some problems(i couldn't remember them now ....because honestly, i couldn't understand them atall when a BEA consultant told me those...).
so, any problem that may arise ....that i need to think about before deploying ~10 applications to like ~70-80 clusters ....all at a time.
thanks again for your advise. iam learning to see the big picture of application deployment.

  • The best way to deploy and redploy of a multiple SOA application

    Hi all,
I'm looking for the best way to deploy and redeploy a multiple SOA application.
    1) The multiple SOA application contains many projects. Some projects depend on another projects.
    2) WebLogic is in productive mode.
I wound like automaticly deploy and redeploy my multiple SOA application.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
    Many thanks
    PG

We use ant scripts to automatically deploy and redeploy multiple composites.
The ant scripts gets shipped along with the SOA installation. The ant script that is used for the deployment is:
    ${oracle.home}/bin/ant-sca-deploy.xml
You can also use the same for your deployment.

  • Best way to deploy IE11 in latest Version 11.0.7

    Hello there,
I´m looking for the best way to deploy IE11 in the latest Version 11.0.7, because that one includes the Enterprise mode.
When I just push IE11 out through WSUS, the RTM Version without Updates gets installed. So the scenario would be:
    Install IE11
    Reboot
    Install Updates
    Reboot
    Enterprise Mode ready
That is of course not a good way, because after the first reboot the Enterprise Mode is not available yet and the RTM Version does not include the latest security updates.
So I downloaded the IE11 installer and the latest IE11 Update (KB2929437) and tried the following things:
Extract IE11-Windows6.1-KB2929437-x86.msu to get the IE11-Windows6.1-KB2929437-x86.cab
    IE11-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe /passive /norestart
    C:\Windows\System32\dism.exe /online /add-package /packagepath:"C:\Temp\IE11-Windows6.1-KB2929437-x86.cab" /quiet /norestart
    Reboot
After just one reboot I had the latest Version of IE 11 (11.0.7) installed.
I´m wondering now if this is a valid way to push it out or if there are a better ways of doing it.
    Thanks for your help!
